For the record: I gave hints. They spoiled, but since they used spoiler tags, I still think it's OK; they can look if they want to, or not. That's what spoiler tags are for, right? I can go put my hints in spoiler tags if you'd like.

Also: blame a long, slow day. It's the weekend, and yet posting was slower than on a weekday?

It took me a LONG time to get the reference, and I'm fairly knowledgeable with superheroes. The vast majority of people I know offline (which, granted, is not a lot) would still have no idea what I was talking about.

And in any event, I only gave the extra clue because Masked seemed to be asking for it.

@ Myrddyn: That's missing the point of what a spoiler is for, but then again I'm tired and that might be a joke and I'm grouchy after a week of finals and recognize it, so I won't launch into an angry tirade that will roast your ears and make your eyes shrivel. It was more the fact that you laid the connection between Kayla and Batman, you basically gave away that Kayla is directly involved as Violetta. I knew because I remembered the old picture, but still.

And how is it your responsibility to give hints? This sort of thing came up pretty early in Heroica's history. Even if you think you know something about a quest you are not on, don't spoil it for the questers. I personally don't care if it's in spoiler tags. There's no reason to do it. If the QM wants to give hints, they will.

Boredom is not an excuse either. There's no law saying you have to post in this thread every few hours.

I'm not a staff member, so I don't have the power to give any tags. There's nothing like that being planned, either.

Sandy, if the halves of the enemy get free hits, the battle is next to impossible, Say Guts and Dak both hit their target next turn, we would face 4 level 5 enemies, that each get free hits, dealing 10 damage to each of us, leaving Dak at 1, and me at 5 health, the next turn we would be wiped out, or the turn after that, if we use consumables.

I'm okay with hard battles, but this is pretty much impossible :/

I hope this doesn't classify as giving away something in another quest, but I was just wondering, does it make any sense for the party in Quest 31 to attempt to follow Russel? They have never met him and have no clue as to what he looks like, so how would Skrall even be able to track him?

Disappointed in someone? That seems like a strong word over something at the end of the day is just a game. Keeping things in spoiler tags seems fine to me, it's easy to avoid for those involved. If you don't want anyone spoiling anything in this thread then I suggest adding a disclaimer about avoiding spoilers in the first post.

Having quested with Flipz and seen his activity on this board, he seems really into this Heroica RPG; it would be a shame to lose a creative mind like him over something like this.

Its nice to see someone standing up to Guts, maybe he shouldn't be so aggresive in future. I sort of saw the splitting in half thing coming when the guy threatened Guts back, I guess Insomniac's Ratchet & Clank series has taught me well. If anyone doesn't get the reference, here is a link for you.

Of course, me too, I just don't agree with the fact that we are always going to get free hits, it makes the battle impossible. I can't see a way we can win this battle, even with the best possible rolls.

Well no, I assume it can't divide if it's dead. And I also assume every battle is at least possible. The battle against count shadeaux was extremely difficult, but it was at least possible.

Actually, if they killed them down to level 0 then the battle would be won, but at a high cost, and that would be a very difficult battle to start with anyways. Their best bet would've been to have a super-powered weapon that would be able to take him out in one hit, if they were lucky.

No one is saying Flipz should leave the game.

I think disappointed is the appropriate word. Yes, it's a game. But more people are playing than just Flipz.

How would you feel if you were the QM whose quest was "helped"? It's one thing to discuss a quest but another to influence one that you're not on.

I wasn't threatening to kick Flipz out, I just warned him not to keep sticking his nose to other people's quests. The players were supposed to figure out this connection themselves, so I think it's rude for an outsider to reveal it for them.

And spoiler tags don't help much if there's no mention about what the content spoils.

The odds are not on your side this time, since Dyric was knocked out immediately and you don't have that many healing items with you. At least you have the option to flee at any point.
