Zepher Posted June 4, 2012 Posted June 4, 2012 Also, I should have expected these kind of twists, given the Quest Masters. No offense meant of course, but I should have expected at least some of this. Why do you think Felton is so paranoid and fed up with it? He has to go on all my quests. Quote
Dannylonglegs Posted June 4, 2012 Posted June 4, 2012 QM Note: Err... You got it the first try... Thought it'd be a bit harder. No complaints here, I love puzzles! That was fun! ~Insectoid Aristocrat Quote
Scubacarrot Posted June 4, 2012 Posted June 4, 2012 50/50 chance of them working, except for the Scroll of Confusion. I try to keep the treasury updated on this sort of stuff...but I have to ask the same question about the Eye of the Beholder. It can be used once per quest to replay a round of battle (same actions, just re-rolled dice), and does not count as an artifact. Quote
Sandy Posted June 4, 2012 Author Posted June 4, 2012 All heroes are element-neutral, no matter what their race, stage of furriness or degree of decay is. Also what was the final rule on how scrolls work? Elphaba is now gone so I can't find the exact rules that were settled on. You can find the description of each scroll from the Treasury (thanks to CallMePie for keeping it up to date!), but here they are for your convenience: Scroll of Sleep – Enables casting the sleep-effect to the target, forcing it to miss its turn for three rounds or until woken up by an attack. Each casting has a 50/50 chance of success and costs 1 ether. Usable only by mages and clerics. Costs 50 gold. Scroll of Blindness – Enables casting the blinded-effect to the target, making it unable to use a physical attack for the next three rounds. Each casting has a 50/50 chance of success and costs 1 ether. Usable only by mages and clerics. Costs 50 gold. Scroll of Sealing – Enables casting the sealed-effect to the target, making it unable to use a special skill for the next three rounds. Each casting has a 50/50 chance of success and costs 1 ether. Usable only by mages and clerics. Costs 50 gold. Scroll of Confusion – Enables casting the confused-effect to the target for the next three rounds, during which it has a 50/50 chance of targeting an ally instead of its opponents. Each casting has a 50/50 chance of success and costs 1 ether. Usable only by mages and clerics. Costs 50 gold. Quote
CMP Posted June 4, 2012 Posted June 4, 2012 It can be used once per quest to replay a round of battle (same actions, just re-rolled dice), and does not count as an artifact. If it's not consumed on use, doesn't it count as an artifact? Quote
Sandy Posted June 4, 2012 Author Posted June 4, 2012 If it's not consumed on use, doesn't it count as an artifact? Gems, scrolls and tools aren't consumable or artefacts, either. The Eye of the Beholder falls into that same category. Quote
Tanma Posted June 4, 2012 Posted June 4, 2012 (edited) Just curious, what is thought of De'kra's speech habits? Does his acquisition of language seem natural? Is it annoying to translate? To better show his vocal evolution, here is the first thing he ever said in the hall. "I not know...tongue," clicked De'kra, "I not know...I. I mind not-full. Mind full one year, last year. Not one year old, mind missing. Not-missing I island shore. Help...hermit...not-miss chicken. Hermit send I here and chicken talon. I not know more." Edited June 4, 2012 by Tanma Quote
Pandora Posted June 4, 2012 Posted June 4, 2012 perhaps even capable of reading his mind Bahaha Nicely put! Quote
Tanma Posted June 4, 2012 Posted June 4, 2012 By Mata-Nui, Quest 30 has just totally given my a great Roleplaying situation. I have to play it carefully, but either way this could work well in my favor for De'kra's development. This could work great, depending on how the battle goes. Quote
RPGer Posted June 4, 2012 Posted June 4, 2012 Oh, in that case: Back at the hall, a great bolt of lightning strikes Johan out of the sky. He is killed on impact! Quote
Bricksandparts Posted June 4, 2012 Posted June 4, 2012 Back at the hall, a great bolt of lightning strikes Johan out of the sky. He is killed on impact! But you said you can't use magic! Quote
Palathadric Posted June 4, 2012 Posted June 4, 2012 Johon doesn't need lightning, he would die on impact anyway or his dragon would crash and go up in flames. Quote
Bricksandparts Posted June 4, 2012 Posted June 4, 2012 Johon doesn't need lightning, he would die on impact anyway or his dragon would crash and go up in flames. But the dragon is not grounded so the electricity would not even be attracted to Johon/Ethelim, nor even if it hit him, do anything. Quote
Palathadric Posted June 4, 2012 Posted June 4, 2012 The dragon is going quite fast, so either you'd have to jump off when he's close to the ground, in which case he would crash land and "go up in flames", or you would jump too early and hit the water with a splat. Quote

Now I'm getting confused about what you are talking about. Durkonna is saying she can't use magic, so I don't understand what you are talking about, could you explain? Oh, you mean there'd be no need for lightning to hit me because I'd die jumping into the water? The dragon isn't going super-duper fats, it's preparing to land anyways, it'd slow down. Jumping into the water might not feel great, but it wouldn't kill you. Quote
Palathadric Posted June 4, 2012 Posted June 4, 2012 If you drop from high enough it certainly would kill you, and I assumed the dragon was going superduper fast when you handed the reins to Sorrow and that you were also high up. It sounded like it. Sorry, about the confusion. Quote
Bricksandparts Posted June 4, 2012 Posted June 4, 2012 Johon drives Ethelim into a dive, nearing the ground. Sorrow and Johon's capes thrash back and forth, and they find it harder to hold on. The spin around, and do twirls. "I don't know!" Johon shouts over the rushing wind. "Who knows, maybe we'll see him at my place soon!" Johon shouts as they make a final dive close to a lake. Johon pulls a rope that 'safely' unstraps him. Sorrow stares in disbelief as Johon passes him the reigns, and then swings off the dragon's side! He lands in the lake at full force and rolls downward and sideways into the water, then he returns to the surface and swims to the side. Ethelim lands near the house and Sorrow gets off. Johon meets up with Sorrow and Johon tosses Sorrow some tools, then hey go to work. After participating in small talk for almost and hour, Drake can be seen passing over a hill, huffing and puffing. When he sees us, he stops to catch his breath. I guess I should have been more clear that we were supposed to be flying'hovering over the lake, but still moving, not from a high up point. Quote
RPGer Posted June 4, 2012 Posted June 4, 2012 But you said you can't use magic! I didn't say Durkonna conjured the lightning, now. The sky just hates you. Quote

Zepher Posted June 5, 2012 Posted June 5, 2012 The (over-due) NPC Index has been updated once more with the NPCs from the Quarry Clean-Up Quest. Go check out the three new additions and remind yourself of all the reoccurring characters we've got! Quests 28, 29, 30, 31, 32, 33, and 34 all has characters who are already listed! Which reminds me: BD, while I've hijacked your thread, I'm still waiting on those NPC write-ups from your previous Quest! Rumble Strike, after you pick a side in CvF (abbreviated for those other Dastanian Questies), if you want to write up those NPCs from #32, that would be great (PS: that was a nice timely quest, congrats!). posades Posted June 5, 2012 Posted June 5, 2012 Has everyone decided in Quest #30 except me? I'm so indecisive. Quote
Jebediahs Posted June 5, 2012 Posted June 5, 2012 Then side with team C. @Quest 30: They need the backup. I don't understand how there was so much excitement at the prospect of players battling players in quest yet when it comes time to fight the players opt to talk things out. Another opportunity has arrived yet you're wasting time trying convincing people (who've made their decision) to join your side and not to fight the other players? Enough talk just fight each other already. @darkdragon: Those claws are an amazing drop. I need some. Quote
