Sandy Posted June 13, 2012 Author Posted June 13, 2012 The only danger I see is that one could have their level fifty character give tons of cool items to their pre-quest level one character. I don't think that will be a problem, but it is so ething to consider. I don't see that as a problem, because those players have already been through the start-up phase once and actually seen the trouble to acquire all those items. Giving the secondary character a slight edge in the beginning is only understandable. But this talk is still premature. I sincerely hope the game will keep on going long enough for players to hit Level 50 and get access to the Master Classes and the secondary character, but that's all up to you guys, of course. This game has taken a huge chunk of my time over these last twelve months, but I really love it and I have enjoyed immensely seeing you all play and enjoy it too. I don't see myself giving it up any time soon, but all things must come to an end one day. Let's just hope that day comes later than sooner, okay? Quote

Good point, I suppose it would be earned if you made it all the way to level fifty. Especially since I am guessing that the number of battles required to level up increases every tenth level. Guts flees. I found this hysterical. Quote
Scubacarrot Posted June 13, 2012 Posted June 13, 2012 I found this hysterical. Why exactly, if I may ask? Quote
Tanma Posted June 13, 2012 Posted June 13, 2012 Why exactly, if I may ask? I think it is because that is all you said. It came off as Guts took one look at the attacking forces, and ran off. He didn't ponder the situation, he didn't weigh his chances, he just fled. And with the way Guts and company have been picking unnecessary fights, the way he attempts to run off from the main quest is funny to me. Quote

posades Posted June 13, 2012 Posted June 13, 2012 Maybe there could be a Hall of Legends open only to a certain level (50 perhaps) where characters could mingle, buy certain items and sign up for quests only for them. Otherwise yeah it might be hard to balance battles when you have such a discrepancy in level. Oh I know, there would be a sculptor there and one of the "items" you could buy could be a statue made in your likeness, with the inscription of your liking (140 characters or less ). Quote
Waterbrick Down Posted June 13, 2012 Posted June 13, 2012 I'm actually thinking about giving players that hit Level 50 a second character to play as. I'm still contemplating whether to allow the two characters to join the same quests or not. Any thoughts on this? I like the idea of having a second character, but I think you should still only be allowed in one quest at a timem but that's just my opinion. Quote

I 100% agree with this. This was the suggestion I was going to float as well. Two characters is fine, but only one on a quest at a time, and then the second one can remain in the hall, and you'd still be able to play as them in character when you felt like it. Quote
Brickdoctor Posted June 13, 2012 Posted June 13, 2012 I think there should be a rule against trading your other character, too. Otherwise, I'm going to play Rogue and give all my excess Gold to my main character. Quote

I think players who made it all the way to Level 50 would be responsible enough and understand how the game works well enough to be allowed two characters. It might be confusing sometimes, but I can see that people would want to start a new character without giving up the one that they worked so hard on. Quote
RPGer Posted June 13, 2012 Posted June 13, 2012 I found this hysterical. So did I. Great minds think alike. Quote
CMP Posted June 13, 2012 Posted June 13, 2012 I love that idea. I just think that two characters played by the same person should not be allowed to go on the same quest. I think it's perfectly fair to have each one go on a different quest, though. Only 122 battles 'til my second character. Quote

CMP Posted June 13, 2012 Posted June 13, 2012 122 victorious battles you mean. Yep. And from what I can tell, the general average is around 30-50 battles a year, given how it seems to have been going so far. But I think it's mostly dependent on the players and the Quests' timing. Count Noctus Shadeaux Type: ????? Level: 50 Health: 953/953 Special I: Veil of Bats – The count summons a horde of bats to protect him, making him impervious to all attacks for the next round. Used only if there are guards left in the battle. Special II: ENOUGH! – Ends the battle if all his guards are taken out. Drops: 1000 gold Note: Count Noctus does not get Free Hits. Guts flees. Coward. He's not even going to be fighting. Quote

swils Posted June 13, 2012 Posted June 13, 2012 (edited) A new quest has appeared! Quest #__: Bear Naked Ladies A troupe of musical polar bears has quickly gained popularity in the region, under the moniker "Bear Naked Ladies". Your mission, should you choose to accept it, is to serve as their bodyguards/bouncers as their tour passes through the Eubric Freeport, staving off hordes of adoring fans and wannabe-groupies. Your reward? Fame. Fortune! Well, not fortune, these are some really greedy bears. And not really fame, either, you'll just be behind the scenes. And most folks who see you won't like you, because you'll be standing between them and their favorite performing bears. So the knowledge that you've helped out will have to be its own reward. Any takers? Juuust kidding. Speaking of bare naked ladies though, if anyone can match Thormanil/Thormana's current build, but with the jungle-girl top (I'm almost sure it exists... but can't find it on BL at the moment, in a bit of a rush. It's like a tube-top with a single shoulder strap, beige/tan in color...), or this top, I would greatly appreciate it (as would the civilized population of the town we're about to infiltrate, I'm sure!). The aforementioned reward stands, though you could add my gratitude on top of it Edit: Ignore the jungle girl request, found it and I'd much prefer the top I linked to instead. If you have a nice redheaded hairpiece to replace the hood with, that'd be even better. Thanks very much, in advance! Edited June 13, 2012 by swils Quote
CMP Posted June 13, 2012 Posted June 13, 2012 Quest #36: The Voracious Vault Quest Master: Endgame Assignment: "With my father's recent death, he has entrusted me with the location and combination to our family vault: a sprawling underground network brimming with the various riches from my entire family tree and then some. Unfortunately, when I tried to peek at the vault's contents, I was nearly killed! A horde of subterranean beasts have decided to nest in the vault. I need some heroes to beat the hordes of vermin back where they came - my family's vault should NOT be a breeding ground!" ~ Ayla Commerz, heir and owner of the Bank of Commerz in Luosh Party Requirements: "I need a group of four somewhat experienced heroes. Preferably one healer in the group, as these things are ravenous!" Rewards: 600 gold to split Vermin? Healer?? Damn, I need in... Quote
Endgame Posted June 13, 2012 Posted June 13, 2012 Vermin? Healer?? Damn, I need in... Vermin is figurative in this case. And you'd just make balancing the enemies a pain! Quote

Scubacarrot Posted June 13, 2012 Posted June 13, 2012 Swils, if you still need it, I can do it tomorrow, I have the pieces. Quote
