Woah, calm down. I am pretty sure we were all having a good time and no one was stressed, and I am not sure you understood the context. I was not trying to hold my involvement over their heads at all, it just made no sense in-character for him to attack. I was offering a way in-character for him to interfere. I can't break character, and helping without a ghreater cause to help would do so. If you recall in Quest 30, something bad happened in a battle, and De'kra flashed back to a group from his past. He has a distaste for violence at the moment, and way back in Quest 20 it was established that he has a fondness for birds. And I was already participating in the fight, just not directly.

You know, I am a somewhat socially awkward person, so I apologize if I caused a misunderstanding. I wanted to help, but since De'kra couldn't I was trying to create an escape clause. I had figured it won't be begging at all, it might have even been calling De'kra out on not helping his team. So I am sorry for confusion. But wasn't it a bit early to jump at my throat?

I do not mean to jump at your throat, but this is not the first time that you are holding back your party with your roleplaying. That's something that I would not tolerate in my quest, and I'm letting you know that. Your actions come across as selfish and attention-seeking. The party should be working together to win their opponents. The character's personal problems should never affect the outcome of a battle, at least not unless all the players accept that.

Just play fair, and tone down the Dek'ra Show. That's my advice to you, take it as you wish.

PS. In case it's unclear to you, the winged people challenged you to test your worth in battle. That means you won't kill them even if you win them in battle, unless I'm badly mistaken.

I understand that for your Quests; after all, they are main-plot Quests, and thus all of the intrigue/plot twists are built-in to the scenario itself. However...

The party should be working together to win their opponents.

I would disagree with this. Some Quests seem designed for intra-party conflicts. I don't know the circumstances of De'kra's situation, but I do know that Wren Quests, among others, are among the ones that aren't averse to PvP conflicts, whether through combat or argument.

I'm fine with De'kra not participating in this battle if it's for roleplaying reasons; we seem to have this one somewhat under control (just may take a fair amount of rounds to finish). If there's a boss battle coming up though... :oh:

As far as in character goes, don't expect Xander to give any rousing speeches; it's not in his nature. Maybe the newly invigorated elf can.

I don't mind characters sometimes arguing with each other, having moral issues or even refusing to fight a certain enemy, but Tanma has been deliberately holding back his quest on several occasions by making the quests seem all about his character, and now he asked other players to coerce his character into fighting, like it was their job to sweet-talk him into doing his job.

That, to me, is too much roleplaying and not enough concentrating on the task at hand. Other QMs might accept his behaviour, but I'm growing weary and irritated of it. Maybe I'm just too tired and can't think clearly...

And Tanma, this doesn't mean that I don't like Dek'ra as a character, or that you wouldn't be a great roleplayer, you're just hogging up too much space for yourself in the quests, in my honest opinion. Drawing in other players to appease your character (as if you couldn't do it yourself) was the last straw for me. As I said, others may see it differently, but I just had to get this out of my chest as the manager of this game.

I do try to limit what I do, but I am not going to ignore something when it logically must happen. This is not intended to be hostile, but I would like to know the other times I "held back my party," as I can't think of any instance. I suppose the meeting with Arthur might be one , but I felt like the situation was defused by then. The parties were not going to fight by then, so interactions could happen. If one goes back to Quest 4 I did have a sub plot thing, but I had pre approval from the Quest Master. I probably should have gotten approval for some of what I did here, but I didn't plan this as much as ran into it. I will try to plan better for the future. Either way, I would like to know where I was annoying so I could limit those instances.

I am not trying to hijack the Quest at all, and I am sorry if you think I am. The thing is I am not really sure how to make De'kra fight without outside help, I can try to create something spur of the moment, but I have no current ideas for it.

The point you make that personal problems shouldn't affect a battle seems...odd to me. I am not the only person in Heroica to not fight alongside their fellows in a battle, and I believe you ruled that players could sit out a fight, though it would probably annoy their teammates. I might remember that wrong though, as I think it was all the way back at the time of Quest 16 and 19. Likewise in Quest 30 teammate fought teammate, though that was planned, and in a completed quest that situation almost occurred spur of the moment. Said civil battle did not occur, but the entire ending almost chanced based on personal decisions. I realize that other examples do not role-play as much as me, but it still feels a little selective. Of course it is directed towards me so I would be biased, and I sod tend to get sensitive and defensive, but when name calling is used it does seem more personal.

Sorry, I don't have the time nor the energy to dig through old topics just to get my point across. I've just gotten the impression that your character is a difficult one to play with, going into these moods and "dark places" for what seems like every quest.

Yes, players can sit out fights if they really feel like it's against their morals, but this should be done sparingly. The whole mechanic of this game circles around battles, so if you repeatedly refuse battles for whatever reason, you become a deadweight for the rest of the party. And that is not fair to the other players who want to move on with the quest.

I'm sorry for singling you out like this, but I just don't understand why you get so deeply involved with your roleplaying, saying that your character "can't do it", when you're the one in the controls. Claiming that your character has a mind of his own is crazy talk.

But I'll get off your case. Just know that the more "difficult" you present your character, the more likely QMs and other players will shun playing with you. I sincerely hope that it doesn't happen.

I sod tend to get sensitive and defensive, but when name calling is used it does seem more personal.

I apologize that I called you a diva.

Jebs, you can join the ranks of the QMs who I believe must be computers with imagination. I have no idea how you keep track of all of that. I mess up something every round and I don't have that many players or actions.

Nah, it's just the Jeb! Orc powers that allow him to manage it all.

Hello everyone. I am away all weekend, so Quest 30 will be on hold. JimBee has asked me to run his quest while he is away, so that will be on hold too. Hopefully BD's folk will have caught up by the time I return on Monday. I will update all the quests then. Thank you all for your patience.

The filler battle took longer than expected.

Wren was filler?!?!?!

 Just kidding, I know which one you're talking about.

I have an idea for some new consumables:

Dark Bomb:

Causes 5 points of darkness-elemental damage to all enemies, doubled if the target is weak to darkness. Costs 10 gold.

Wind Bomb:

Causes 5 points of wind-elemental damage to all enemies, doubled if the target is weak to wind. Costs 10 gold.

Earth Bomb:

Causes 5 points of earth-elemental damage to all enemies, doubled if the target is weak to earth. Costs 10 gold.

What do you think?

In what way? I.E. you already thought of these, or you have something else planned.

Of course I've already thought of these, they're just bombs with the remaining elements. I've just waited for a right time to introduce them.

I'm gonna' say this now. We're totally screwed. :distressed:

Not necessarily. You just had bad luck on your side, but with some risk you might actually prevail. Violetta doesn't have very much health left, after all...

Oh, and her transformation was pre-planned, just so you know. I'm not actively trying to kill your party.

:sceptic: No offense, but your strategy was not say, uhm, eh, perfect.... And with two of the party in full health, I would not worry, if I were you .

Well that's a relief! :laugh:That's probably something that I would pull, though.

That's a shame....if she was Humanoid/Beast, Benji would murder her with his crossbow.

That was my first thought.
