Zepher Posted June 19, 2012 Posted June 19, 2012 Etzel has gone on vacation. I figured that out by poking around. It's one of the only times I've ever actually stalked another member for Mafia/RPG purposes. Also, just so everyone on the Dastan Quests know, we really are racing towards a conclusion at this point, and while you may still be lost as all hell, I'm having a lot of fun watching as the Quests intertwine. Quest 31 is discovering secrets of other quests and it is very cool to see. This is why it is interesting to have them all going on AND for the players to not be reading all of them. Quote
Palathadric Posted June 19, 2012 Posted June 19, 2012 Yes. Well done to all you Dastan questers for staying calm and not jumping into and reading the other quests. (But do you if you did ) Honestly though, even with reading all the quests, I'm probably just as confused as any of you. None of you are confused?!? Darn! Am I the only one. Quote
Zepher Posted June 19, 2012 Posted June 19, 2012 I may be a lucky exception in the masses of the people confused by what exactly is going on in Dastan. And even I have trouble keeping everything straight, so I can't fault my questies too much. I have so much to say about the entire experience at the end, especially concerning the confusion the players are experiencing. Remember, Wren Quests are supposed to teach the characters (and players) that sometimes their preconceived notions of the world are a little off, and I think the lesson I tried to teach in this one might throw everyone for a loop... and maybe make people hate me. HOPEFULLY at the end, when everyone reads everything and knows all the facts, it will be clear. On a side note - this is by far the most stressed I've been by hosting ever. Not in a bad way, but I screw up if I only have one battle to run, and right now I have 3 going on. Quote

We actually know things the other Questies don't? It certainly doesn't feel like it. I may be a lucky exception in the masses of the people confused by what exactly is going on in Dastan. Four, soon, considering how confused Arthur and Alexandre are, we are not going to put up with any guff from the people we're going to see. (It's with great difficulty that I decided not to have Arthur wring Alandri's neck for his complete lack of help so far. ) Quote
Darkdragon Posted June 20, 2012 Posted June 20, 2012 Is Quest #27 on hold for some reason? Sorry, just afraid I missed something. Hey folks. Etzel is indeed on working vacation, but Pep is running his character. Pep and Quarry were with me at Brickworld and we are all almost back now (2/3 of us are home). The quest will continue very shortly. I was originally planning to have the quest wrapped up before Brickworld but the best laid plan of mice and men, am I right? I didn't know you guys were watching Quote

Zepher Posted June 20, 2012 Posted June 20, 2012 (edited) Well that's no fair. Quest 30 has been perfectly coherent to the questies who have stayed in it (maybe...). If you were transferred into the fray by a Dragon... you may be more confused. And don't worry, through no fault of your own, Boomingham is extremely lost in Quest 28. Not with the goals or characters or plot... as seems to be the trouble for my questies... just with the solution. And Darkdragon, of course we'll all watching! I want to know where the Quest goes! On top of that, I want those players back so I can quest with them (or lord over them as QM). And I'm assuming Cinna won't come back until you're done QMing, so that gives us all even more incentive to hold our breath. Edited June 20, 2012 by Zepher Quote
CMP Posted June 20, 2012 Posted June 20, 2012 It's not a temporary problem. There's too much to do in WBD's quest to bother with actually following the plot. It's less of a quest, more like a...unique item shopping spree with a dozen miniquests and awesome outside references. With a little bit of plot. That's why I liked Quest 11. Quote
Brickdoctor Posted June 20, 2012 Posted June 20, 2012 I didn't know you guys were watching I'm watching because whenever you take pictures of something, it ends up looking gorgeous. Quote

Well maybe if the party just focused on doing what the Town Watch asked them to do, instead of fighting off gangs, and vampires, going to an archery competition, and worrying about rockling worker rights, the quest would go more smoothly. But you hit the nail on the head Pie on my QM style and I'll have more to say when we finish up. Quote

If Doc and WBD ever do a dual-QM thing, though, I seriously do not expect the Quest goal to be reached, or even regarded. AT ALL. And I want in. My hat is off to both of them for their improvisational skills. Quote
UsernameMDM Posted June 20, 2012 Posted June 20, 2012 QM Note: The berserker Axe isn't a earth elemental weapon, it causes normal damage, and then 1 earth elemental damage also. Um, how? Sorry, but I will keep the garnet. How can a weapon do elemental damage AND NOT have an elemental gem? Quit remaking the rules already. Just go with what is already laid out. Quote
Dannylonglegs Posted June 20, 2012 Posted June 20, 2012 Bricksandparts, can we get a little recap as to our objective and the locations and what not? Thanks! ~Insectoid Aristocrat Quote
Flipz Posted June 20, 2012 Posted June 20, 2012 A most devilish thought just occurred to me: what would be summoned if Alexis got her hands on the Zirconia? My vote is Cthulu or some other Lovecraftian horror. Quote

Myrddyn Posted June 20, 2012 Posted June 20, 2012 so the evoker can control one spirit per element I'd have thought summons using the Zirconia would summon the same creature as would be summoned with a normal gem. I don't think using the Zirconia makes a difference. Quote

I don't think using the Zirconia makes a difference. It's a gem with all of the things all of the Elements. It HAS to summon something crazy and QM-created. :D Quote
Myrddyn Posted June 20, 2012 Posted June 20, 2012 It's a gem with all of the things all of the Elements. It HAS to summon something crazy and QM-created. :D But you can only cast spells using one element at a time, so I'd have thought you can only summon creatures of one element at a time? Quote

Masked Builder Posted June 20, 2012 Posted June 20, 2012 A most devilish thought just occurred to me: what would be summoned if Alexis got her hands on the Zirconia? Well I've been thinking about that, and I've got a good idea. But unless I get it you'll never find out. Quote
