I try to give subtle clues to help you on what to do. I just gave you, like 3 most blatantly obvious ones in the entire quest. I just want to shrivel up and die. :cry_sad:

Hey, is the Test Quest: Back to the Roots available anywhere? I'd really like to read it. :blush:

It's not. The reason for that I believe is that the game was in a very different state than it is it now. Also, Sandy said that it might get hosted as a real quest, eventually.

I have a few questions: (Forgive me if the answers are obvious (some I already am relatively sure of); I just want to make sure that I run my Quest well.)

Where can I find out:

How to calculate Free Hits?

How do SP and Shields(weapons) work?

Are Spears ranged weapons?

When fighting enemies with ranged weapons, does Row matter?

I looked in the rules, but these are not discussed. :wacko:

Free hits are the equivalent of the enemy's level minus any defense/SP the hero has.

This also applies to a hero rolling Damage or Special Damage. Shields provide the SP.

Also, Free Hits do take Rows into account. They're calculated the same way as Damage.

And Spears can be used as ranged weapons, but the mechanic has to be specified in the description of the weapon or the class. (or an artifact granting the power)

Arguably, anything can be used as a ranged weapon if it's specified...I'm pretty sure there's a Raider running around throwing fish bits.... :laugh:

Is there some sort of tradition in Charis that states that if you get thrown in the road, you kick the ugliest person within a 3 mile radius? :blush:

I think the "unlimited battle quest" should help a bit with levelling, if I'm slightly correct in how it's going to work

I don't know how it works, but here is what I hope:

The setting could be caverns under Eubric or something along those lines. With a setting like that, you can have virtually unlimited scenes and different kinds of battles. We can have secret caverns fulled with critters, hidden safehouses of Eubric's gangmembers, forgotten crypts with roaming undead, or whatever!

I'd imagine it work like this: You fight 5(or any number, 5 just seems reasonable) battles back to back, with either no or little time to prepare inbetween. After the "block" of fights, people have the ability to drop in or out. I think there may not be a static number of players required, but there should be a minimum (3?) and a maximum (6,7,8?).

Rewards would either be a reward at the end of the block that is always the same (money, consumables?), or just consumables. Of course you always get experience, which would be the biggest draw. I don't think adding regular items is a great idea, it would cause some people to no longer go on quests, I can tell you that for a fact.

With a system like this, you can eventually use it to screen future QM's. Allow them to create one block of battles, with pictures and everything. Because that's what it would be, A quest without story, basically. If you keep the setting open like I said earlier, anyone would be able to contribute, eventually.

What do other people think?

....Sounds like the Cave of Ordeals from TLoZ:TP. I like it.

Sorry for not posting. I just have had no internet for the past few days so I didn't know I was picked for the quest, and I didn't know when it would start. And because of that I couldn't post anything.

:hmpf_bad: Now what to do? :wacko: The original person picked showed up, but after 2 days which was the time limit. And people already signed up to replace him.

EDIT: xxlrocka, if you don't post by the time the party gets to the tavern, you're out.

I vote that you take a replacement who is higher than rank 10 at least, its not fair that I'm the only quest-member who actually could make some damage on an enemy :tongue:

I couldn't choose who you preferred. (Dak right?) He didn't sign up. But I chose someone after PM, bribery and blackmail some discussion. Also because people over level 10 are too complicated. :grin:

Actually I believe Dak said that he "would love to go on the quest," or something like that, but still this isn't a proper signup. :sceptic:

The quest is quite awesome as of now, Capt.JohnPaul! But as it turns out even proggs can receive some sympathy from humans. :hmpf:
