Sisco Posted July 20, 2012 Posted July 20, 2012 I don't see any info.... Maybe I'm just blind, but I just read the whole thing twice. I think he just updated the closed and active quests. Quote
Capt.JohnPaul Posted July 20, 2012 Posted July 20, 2012 I think he just updated the closed and active quests. D'oh! I'm so stupid. I thought he meant regarding the Special Event in August, like a teaser. Quote
Sandy Posted July 20, 2012 Author Posted July 20, 2012 I think he just updated the closed and active quests. And the player information. I still have loads to prepare for August, so there won't be any major updates before that. Quote
Scorpiox Posted July 20, 2012 Posted July 20, 2012 Great to have you back Sandy! I'm really excited for the festivities to come in August. Quote
Zepher Posted July 21, 2012 Posted July 21, 2012 Meh meh meh, rail-roading. Trust us, we know! Anywho, this is hopefully going to be epic! I'm very excited to see what happens. 21 heroes (including NPCs) and... who knows how many enemies . Anyway, it's 3 here, so I probably made mistakes. Check me, questies, and then let's get this final act of the Dastan Trilogy rolling! Quote
Rumble Strike Posted July 21, 2012 Posted July 21, 2012 Zeph, if anyone is reading or playing in these Quests and thinking "this is rubbish, the heroes aren't being allowed to make their own decisions" then they don' t understand that the story is driving things, not the characterisation. I am having a great time! Quote
Waterbrick Down Posted July 21, 2012 Posted July 21, 2012 I agree, even though I'm not a big fan of rail-roading the story is epic and I really appreciate all that you three have done to make it so great. It's 3am here, but I'm still up working on spread-sheets and strategies for the best tactical layout. Quote
Palathadric Posted July 21, 2012 Posted July 21, 2012 I can't wait to see the battle progress. 21 players to roll dice for, not to mention those who are hastened. OOC: I'm back, sorry guys. It took longer than I'd expected but she's fine at least. Dharkan, in case you missed it, there is a link to the other quest. It slides open.[/i] Quote
Palathadric Posted July 21, 2012 Posted July 21, 2012 I've just been reading "The Paladin Conquest" and I must say that I very much admire the MOCs I've seen thus far. The quest is very unique in some ways, I'd say. to Etzel. Quote
Endgame Posted July 21, 2012 Posted July 21, 2012 This final battle is going to be a doozy. Best of luck, Dastan QMs! Quote
Palathadric Posted July 21, 2012 Posted July 21, 2012 When a cleric uses the healing staff it doesn't reduce ether, does it? Quote
Scubacarrot Posted July 21, 2012 Posted July 21, 2012 When a cleric uses the healing staff it doesn't reduce ether, does it? No... nor when a mage uses it. Quote
CorneliusMurdock Posted July 21, 2012 Posted July 21, 2012 I have to say WOW. This is going to be insane. I have very little idea of how this is actually going to work but I'm sure it'll be a learning experience. I hope you QMs know what you've gotten yourselves in for. That's a lot of stuff to keep track of. Quote

CMP Posted July 21, 2012 Posted July 21, 2012 Added Quest 28 stuff to the treasury. Something occurred to me - how are artifacts going to be suited to expert classes? It's easy when advanced classes are just a mix of two different ones, for example, a Paladin can use cleric and knight stuff, but what if that paladin becomes a Dragoon? There's a lot of artifacts that are suitable to anyone, but they'd be losing out on a good chunk because they don't fit into any of the basic classes a lot of them are suited for. Quote

You think 21 heroes is a lot, wait until you see your enemies! Quote
Darkdragon Posted July 21, 2012 Posted July 21, 2012 Just remember, QM Zepher says Quests should be failable! Yes they should, otherwise there is no challenge for the party and they will not try to do the best they can and be clever, in addition to never spending gold on supplies because they don't think they'll need it (*ahem*). That's the downside of the expert class - you can only use equipment suitable to anyone or that specific class. That's why it's called "expert". Quote
Zepher Posted July 21, 2012 Posted July 21, 2012 Speaking of getting people to go through their consumables... looking at Atramor, Tarn, and Thothwick's supplies make me smile. They're all down so many consumables. Harkenshire and Nyx were harder to take down. Quote

Ouch. Well, I didn't expect the Witch's Talisman to have any use at an Expert class anyway. At least it'll give QMs a reason to make more specific artifacts for the classes. Myrddyn Posted July 22, 2012 Posted July 22, 2012 Sorry my vacation has been throwing a wrench in your guy's experience I'll try to go a bit faster. There's really no hurry. Enjoy your vacation. Quote

I was going to say that their usability should go with their original basic class (because that's how most artifacts/weapons suited to a specific basic class work for advanced classes), but this seems to make more sense. EDIT: darkdragon, I think it would be easier to just count the silverfish wings as separate weapons, which would leave Eric with 4x regular and 2x diseased. Saying 3x Silverfish Wings (x2) could get confusing for other QMs. But that's just my two cents. Quote
Pandora Posted July 22, 2012 Posted July 22, 2012 En Sabah Nur, Level 18 Battle Mage Yay, another Battle Mage! Welcome to the club Jeb, hope you like it, and prepare to get super-annoyed that your shield power is somewhat disappointing. Speaking of getting people to go through their consumables... looking at Atramor, Tarn, and Thothwick's supplies make me smile. They're all down so many consumables. Harkenshire and Nyx were harder to take down. I would use more consumables if I ever had enough gold to buy more. Quote
Endgame Posted July 22, 2012 Posted July 22, 2012 (edited) The only consumables I use are potions and nostrums, really. Since I have such a powerful weapon, one mug pays back the cost of a nostrum. EDIT: I think I just saw my jaw drop off when I saw the final battle of the Dastan trilogy. Edited July 22, 2012 by Endgame Quote
