Jebediahs Posted July 22, 2012 Posted July 22, 2012 Yay, another Battle Mage! Welcome to the club Jeb, hope you like it, and prepare to get super-annoyed that your shield power is somewhat disappointing. Hah, it seems like fun. I got tired of stunning things. I want to kill something! Do you have to be standing in the front row for the physical damage portion of your SHIELD ability to deal full power? EDIT: I think I just saw my jaw drop off when I saw the final battle of the Dastan trilogy. Same here. Good luck with that guys. Poor Flavius (haha). His position provides quite an interesting predicament. I hope he survives. Quote
Waterbrick Down Posted July 22, 2012 Posted July 22, 2012 Jeb, I've just been reading through your quest and I really like the Wind challenge, slightly complex, but fun none the less. Great job. Quote
Zepher Posted July 22, 2012 Posted July 22, 2012 EDIT: I think I just saw my jaw drop off when I saw the final battle of the Dastan trilogy. This is a real battle! I want to see those heroes scramble, just like they're doing. Do we move forward and save our man, or wait and ambush the enemy? That's the sort of thing I wanted to see, and that's the sort of thing I'm seeing. This is real strategy at work. Same here. Good luck with that guys. Poor Flavius (haha). His position provides quite an interesting predicament. I hope he survives. I was so happy when they put him there because I knew I'd get to write the horror he was seeing when the Lion Knights showed up. Now the heroes have to either surge forward for one man, or strengthen their position and let him go. Quote
Brickdoctor Posted July 22, 2012 Posted July 22, 2012 Same here. Good luck with that guys. Poor Flavius (haha). His position provides quite an interesting predicament. I hope he survives. ...and it's all my fault! Go Rogue Lion Commanders! :sadistic_QM_grin: Quote
posades Posted July 22, 2012 Posted July 22, 2012 *Fanboy scream* I should have added a [/Desmond]. Great show though, I still miss it; now I need to work in a "We have to go back!" somewhere.... Quote
Endgame Posted July 22, 2012 Posted July 22, 2012 ...and it's all my fault! Go Rogue Lion Commanders! :sadistic_QM_grin: That needs to be an official emoticon! I've been following the Dastan quests quite a bit. iI have a pretty firm grasp of the story now, and i have to applaud you for all your hard work. Quote
Zepher Posted July 22, 2012 Posted July 22, 2012 I've been following the Dastan quests quite a bit. iI have a pretty firm grasp of the story now, and i have to applaud you for all your hard work. Yeah, I think that in retrospect, all the heroes will understand the story. I have so much to say after this quest to the players, and about the quest itself, and the confusion the players suffered. I think I've made it clear that each Wren Quest has been trying to teach the players/characters something, and I'm psyched to see how people think I did in making them feel the way I intended. #7 taught them about how heroes have to make morally gray choices, #19 was about how small the heroes truly are, and #30 is about... well, I guess we'll have to see. Waterbrick Down Posted July 22, 2012 Posted July 22, 2012 The lesson from Quest 30 is your fate is already decided and all one can do is enjoy the train ride and have your tickets at the ready. Quote
Endgame Posted July 22, 2012 Posted July 22, 2012 Not to have Zepher as your QM unless you want your player character to die, maybe? Quote
Brickdoctor Posted July 22, 2012 Posted July 22, 2012 The lesson from Quest 30 is your fate is already decided and all one can do is enjoy the train ride and have your tickets at the ready. Q31 had more railroading than I would have liked, too, I think. Quote
Scubacarrot Posted July 22, 2012 Posted July 22, 2012 Is anyone else sitting here waiting for Zepher to announce the Questers for his quest since you died in the Mafia Game because of a ridiculous tree-stump? Just me? Quote
Waterbrick Down Posted July 22, 2012 Posted July 22, 2012 Don't worry too much about it, it's an epic story and epics are hard to get the characters to go the right places without magically teleporting them to where they need to be. Quote
Zepher Posted July 22, 2012 Posted July 22, 2012 The lesson from Quest 30 is your fate is already decided and all one can do is enjoy the train ride and have your tickets at the ready. Quest 30 actually has had the most changes due to player actions than any of my other quests. Two invented side-quests, two battles that were originally never supposed to happen... even this final battle had 3 major NPCs who COULD have been here depending on actions, and only 1 of them is. The number of enemies is drastically lower from my characters, too, because of actions taken in the quest. I will address this too when we're done. And, yes, CMP, that is the way I framed my lessons. Politics do suck. Is anyone else sitting here waiting for Zepher to announce the Questers for his quest since you died in the Mafia Game because of a ridiculous tree-stump? Just me? I'm making you wait on purpose. Just as a taste of what is to come. Quote
Darkdragon Posted July 22, 2012 Posted July 22, 2012 EDIT: darkdragon, I think it would be easier to just count the silverfish wings as separate weapons, which would leave Eric with 4x regular and 2x diseased. Saying 3x Silverfish Wings (x2) could get confusing for other QMs. But that's just my two cents. You are right, I will clarify/fig it after this fight. I know it's not good when even the players are confused. My bad. I didn't actually think one player would take all the wings, thought they'd each take a pair. Quote
JimBee Posted July 23, 2012 Posted July 23, 2012 I should have added a [/Desmond]. Great show though, I still miss it; now I need to work in a "We have to go back!" somewhere.... "We have to move Dastan, Xander." You are right, I will clarify/fig it after this fight. I know it's not good when even the players are confused. My bad. I didn't actually think one player would take all the wings, thought they'd each take a pair. Well considering only one character could use them and everyone got at least some awesome loot, I'm not too surprised... EDIT: Stats and bio updated for Hybros on my profile page. Quote
CMP Posted July 23, 2012 Posted July 23, 2012 (edited) Now who's gonna be the first mindless machine of logic that has to churn out battle results for Quest 30? Edited July 23, 2012 by CallMePie Quote
Zepher Posted July 23, 2012 Posted July 23, 2012 We're waiting for everyone's actions, or the 24 hour mark. I'm praying I'm not the QM around when the time strikes. Quote
Tachyon Posted July 23, 2012 Posted July 23, 2012 I seriously hope Atramor rolls a special damage or damage against U'Vires and they both get KO'd Quote
Pandora Posted July 23, 2012 Posted July 23, 2012 I feel like I'm in some weird mafia/heroica hybrid! Or some violent Cluedo/Heroica hybrid (or Clue of you're American). "It was Wren in the Conservatory with the Fish Biscuits." Does make me wonder about secret passageways, though. Quote
Sandy Posted July 23, 2012 Author Posted July 23, 2012 "It was Wren in the Conservatory with the Fish Biscuits." A major LOL for that! I've loved to watch the three-pronged quest advance and roll into one for this epic conclusion. I'm definitely rooting for all you guys - players and QMs alike - to end it with a bang. Quote
TheBoyWonder Posted July 23, 2012 Posted July 23, 2012 This quest will put Lycan on the RP map. I thought my RP in 16 and 24 was disappointing to say the least. The knock out has actually done wonders! Quote
Brickdoctor Posted July 23, 2012 Posted July 23, 2012 This quest will put Lycan on the RP map. I thought my RP in 16 and 24 was disappointing to say the least. The knock out has actually done wonders! ...except that you're Knocked Out. You're not supposed to be able to talk. Quote
TheBoyWonder Posted July 23, 2012 Posted July 23, 2012 ...except that you're Knocked Out. You're not supposed to be able to talk. Yeah, but Lycan isn't your normal hero. Quote
Scorpiox Posted July 23, 2012 Posted July 23, 2012 (edited) ...except that you're Knocked Out. You're not supposed to be able to talk. Why not? In the first guard battle of quest 19, Haldor used his unconciousness to build role-play, and nobody complained. EDIT: Oh, I see now. I thought you meant post, not have your character talk. I guess talking coherantly while knocked out does seem rather odd, unless Lycan is rambling. Edited July 23, 2012 by Scorpiox Quote
