JimBee Posted July 25, 2012 Posted July 25, 2012 Q39ers, I know it appears that Q30 is getting all my love and attention right now, but that will change starting tomorrow. Sorry for the slow start, the quest still shouldn't take more than a month, and we'll get into the true swing of things tomorrow! Bah. Never even bothered to read those quests... drop it and pay attention to us, kay? Quote
RPGer Posted July 25, 2012 Posted July 25, 2012 I think we already went over this with Sir Gladius, even if you're undead you still take damage as a hero. Take Sorrow for an example. I was joking! Quote
Zepher Posted July 25, 2012 Posted July 25, 2012 NPC INDEX UPDATE - As I prepare to have to update for Dastan ( ) I want to make sure the NPC Index is in order. Rumble Strike, I still have to place your most recent NPCs (sorry, just never got around to it, but I have them, so don't fear). ALL OTHER QMs - please make sure the list is up to snuff. WBD and BD owe me some for 17 and 28 respectively, but there may be others who also owe me? Quote
Brickdoctor Posted July 25, 2012 Posted July 25, 2012 I know I'm way behind. I'll get you all the NPCs for Q17 and Q31 in one batch by the end of the week. Quote
CMP Posted July 25, 2012 Posted July 25, 2012 So it's been less than 2 days, and the heroes of Quest 39 are already plotting against the person they're supposed to be saving. How do you do it, Zepher? Quote
Brickdoctor Posted July 25, 2012 Posted July 25, 2012 So it's been less than 2 days, and the heroes of Quest 39 are already plotting against the person they're supposed to be saving. Technically, we're plotting against him to save him. Quote
Zepher Posted July 25, 2012 Posted July 25, 2012 I think Quest 19's Fake Felton turned everyone against my NPCs permanently. I'm going to have to work hard with lots of honest NPCs to make up for that. Quote

Pandora Posted July 25, 2012 Posted July 25, 2012 OoC: Yes, there is a single Rogue Lion Commander in the corridor with you guys. I think it's E, because Flavius hit C and D got a free hit on him. What do you find confusing about the maps? If there's something we can do to make them clearer, please let us know. I thought about Rumble Strike's suggestion, about location status, and that could be added. Thought I'd reply here; I feel bad enough about two OoC comments in one post. The maps are great, there's just a lot of characters there that I've not met before that I have to keep trying to remember whether they're NPC allies or baddies (and then which NPC - I spend a lot of time scrolling between the map and the character/player list). That's not a criticism of the map at all, I'm just hoping it will explain if I say something odd. It would be useful if we knew the stats of the baddies in their various positions, though, which I think is Rumble's suggestion. Quote
Brickdoctor Posted July 25, 2012 Posted July 25, 2012 It would be useful if we knew the stats of the baddies in their various positions, though, which I think is Rumble's suggestion. For battles like this in Quest 31, I labeled the enemies' letters on the minimap and gave them a red glow to identify them as enemies, but I think that we're not doing it here to keep things simple. We all have different photo editors, so we each need our own version of the minimap, and that's easier if the maps are simpler. Quote
Zepher Posted July 25, 2012 Posted July 25, 2012 From now on, we will put the room that the player/enemy is in in paranthesis next to their name. Quote
JimBee Posted July 26, 2012 Posted July 26, 2012 No problem, Pandora, the OOC was getting a little OOC. :bad joke: From now on, we will put the room that the player/enemy is in in paranthesis next to their name. This seems like the best solution. Quote
Adam Posted July 26, 2012 Posted July 26, 2012 Hey there, this looks like a ton of fun, but I've spent four years away from this site and I don't have the time to sift through 900 pages of content to catch myself up fully. I've acquainted myself with the rules and mythology, but I'd like to ask current players, is it a bit too late for a completely new and weak character (ie. me) to join up and start playing? Quote
Waterbrick Down Posted July 26, 2012 Posted July 26, 2012 Not at all Adam, we always encourage new players, I'm considering rerolling as a level 1 sometime in the near future possibly so it would be great to have another level 1 in the hall. If you've read the rules go ahead and put your character in your signature and introduce yourself in the Hall thread. Quote
Zepher Posted July 26, 2012 Posted July 26, 2012 Absolutely not! You can always join. We run player 1 quests all the time! Get some of your best EB friends to join too, and I'll run a level 1s quest for you. Read the NPC Index (bias...) and you'll know lots about the characters you may run into. Read the Library. Read through something like Quest 1 or 2, and then through some recent ones, like 32 or 37, which had level ones in it, but are recent, so have the newer mechanics and stories. WBD, do not get rid of Skrall. Wren and I would miss him dearly. Quote
CMP Posted July 26, 2012 Posted July 26, 2012 Of course not. Granted there's far less than there were at the start, but there's almost a quest that'll at least consider a level 1. Quote
Waterbrick Down Posted July 26, 2012 Posted July 26, 2012 WBD, do not get rid of Skrall. Wren and I would miss him dearly. I know, he's not going for another quest or 2, but I don't think I'm going to go all the way to level 50. Like Pie said ealier, that'll take approximately 3-4 years and I'd rather not wait that long before trying out a new character. Quote
Zepher Posted July 26, 2012 Posted July 26, 2012 At least wait until Winter so Wren can murder him on her final quest. Quote
Waterbrick Down Posted July 26, 2012 Posted July 26, 2012 Deal With Wren having so many people wanting to kill her, I don't see how Skrall's going to get his satisfaction, but if you're going to go, you might as go with a fond memory. Quote
Zepher Posted July 26, 2012 Posted July 26, 2012 8 players (all of whom must have been on a Wren Quest), 4 returning villain NPCs (well, 5 in a sort...), 12 returning friendly NPCs (8 of whom can die during the quest). I have the outline written up in its entirety already. I'm really really really excited. Quote
Zepher Posted July 26, 2012 Posted July 26, 2012 How many more Wren Quests before then? The one with sign-ups already up!! If you look at the characters who have already been on a Wren Quest, there is more than you' think. Cronk, Thothwick, Eric, Hybros, Docken, Jess, Henry, Daggerfall, Tesni, Haldor, Rone, Skrall, Hoke, Atramor, Nyx, Tarn, and William. That's 17 already. I'm probably going to bring 4 returning questers on the newest quest, and a 5th new one. That gives me 18 heroes to pick from, assuming that they all sign up for the final quest. I've thought out all the combinations, and they are all awesome. It will be very very tough. Quote
CMP Posted July 26, 2012 Posted July 26, 2012 I say we have an Arena tournament to see who gets to go! Quote
