...and some Tolkien-style map brushes in Photoshop.=

*gasp* I've got to get myself some of those!

@Sandy and Zakura: What about flintlock pistols? Or Terry Pratchett-style pistol crossbows.

Again, pistols of any kind are not suitable for the setting of this game. Crossbows, on the other hand, are an existing weapon class in this game, so bowguns are an option.

Looks like the character will be a witch hunter who uses bowguns and crossbows to kill people............

@Endgame: Just clarifying "You hear that, other heroes? This monk here is fine with letting me leave and come back, as long as he gets his paycheck! How noble! How holy!" - does that mean we can avoid the final battle, and still get the reward?

No, Monk Pretzel tried to let the death progg leave and come back just to get his reward. He also said not to tell the other heroes that, so the death progg sarcastically shouted that. You'rfree to talk to him and unearth as much information about his plan as you like, but he will never stand down.

Also, please speicfy an action for Daxus. :classic:

I really didn't like having that big action in a forum-based rpg game. too much chaos, makes me wanna quit.

Quit the game or quit the quest? Because you really shouldn't do either - you can always take breaks from the game in between quests, and to my understanding this is the last battle of the Dastan quests, so you're better off enduring it and reaping the rewards that come after, rather than let it all go.

I understand your confusion and dismay, I could never pull off a battle like that without going totally insane in calculating the battle results, but there's three great minds behind the battle concept, and I trust they will make it work. You players have it much easier - just post your actions and see what ensues.

So hang in there, everyone. I have high trust that the conclusion of the trilogy of quests will be absolutely epic and worth all the effort.

Don't worry I wouldn't do such a thing as quitting in the middle of it but this whole 15 player action (or maybe more or less, i didnt count)has made me lose the track of events, I'm feeling too useless on that quest at the moment.

Skrall's got that covered, but if you want to join him, he could use the company.

I sorely underestimated the power of the consumables I handed out. :sceptic:

Never feel afraid to make a tough enemy, my tendency is to make a hard enemy and then depower them to account for if the Party's luck goes bad, I really shouldn't do it because that means that they will more than likely slaughter him. Just live and learn for next time. :classic:

Compared to what I had you doing for the majority of Q17, this has got to be a major upgrade in your usefulness.

You and Thothwick should share a cup of tea sometime. :hmpf_bad:

...except that one that U'Vires carries.... that one flintlock pistol is okay... :look::blush:

I apologize that you are not having a good time.

As long as it doesn't find its way to the hands of the heroes.

I don't want to be too restrictive when it comes to technology in this game world - everyone knows the liberties I've taken with it for example in Quest #15 - but there's a story-related reason for it. At this point in the game, advanced technology is in the hands of only few people in the world, but that might change depending on how the main storyline goes. And that, my dear players, is eventually up to you.

It won't. I did explain away the technology with Blackenord, who will clearly meet his demise (if the heroes succeed). The Guffington quests will also feature some very limited technology (because he can afford it), but the Chimera Guards are the most advanced anyone in any of my quests will be getting.

I'm sorry to hear that you're not enjoying the experience. I know that it can be confusing, but the least you can do is spend some time to read the posts in their entirety. That includes other players' posts, to make sure that you're not double-targeting an enemy and leaving one open for a free hit, and also bolding your actions. A few days ago, the very post above yours in the Quest 30 thread specifically reminded everyone to bold their actions, and you failed to do so. That, to me, is a clear indicator that you're not paying attention, which is probably the main reason why you're confused.

I understand if you're not motivated to play anymore, but I thank you for sticking with it for the remaining week or two. In the mean time, please try to show a little more participation by stating your actions so that we (the hosts) and Waterbrick Down don't have to.

Wow, Quest 30 is one page from surpassing Quest 25 as the longest quest to date I think! they're currently tied at 73 pages.

Quest 17 was 94 pages. Still, at 1.5 pages on average per round and whatever comes afterward, we still have a chance of breaking it.

Ooops, I meant to post that here. My comment has been removed from the hall, replaced with "in-character chatter".

You're right. Maybe Quest 25 just felt like the longest. Frequent breaks, players disappearing, and a total of less than ten battles over the course of 73 pages (and 4 months... I think, with about 1-3 posts per day during active periods) definitely confused me. Not that I didn't like the hosting or the attempts at complex battles, but the quest was over a long time before it was cancelled.
