JimBee Posted August 8, 2012 Posted August 8, 2012 Congrats to the winners! And special thanks to KimT for the mini sets, glad to know you're still around! On a completely separate note, could players with weapons that don't have an obvious weapon type, designate one? I think it's only fair to choose one, since there could be some confusion to which classes can use them. For example, Zoot's Bane could be either a Longsword or a Greatsword, depending on which either a barbarian or rogue could use it. Not to pick on you, CM, since Zoot's Bane can only be used by Cronk anyway, but just as an example. Also, what happens to weapons that are not of any basic weapon type? Can shortswords be classified as longswords, so that Rogues and Knights can use them? Is a Pointy Stick (or any other weapon designated for basic classes) usable by a Dragoon? Quote
Darkdragon Posted August 8, 2012 Posted August 8, 2012 So cool, I can't beleive I won the virtual grand prize. WOW Thanks so much Sandy for the raffle. Congrats to all the winners and especially those who won the polybag set, KimT you da man! I didn't have anything to say in character yet, but wanted to say thank you somewhere! Quote

For the Zoot weapons it does not matter, since those were actually bound to the hero, and not to the class, and in the past it was decided that shortswords ARE classified as longswords. For weapons that don't NEED a clear limitation because there is no point, like the pointy stick (pun not intended), I say everyone, including expert classes can use them Quote
Sandy Posted August 8, 2012 Author Posted August 8, 2012 Also, what happens to weapons that are not of any basic weapon type? Can shortswords be classified as longswords, so that Rogues and Knights can use them? Is a Pointy Stick (or any other weapon designated for basic classes) usable by a Dragoon? This is exactly why I have asked QMs to stick with the basic weapon types, to little avail. Simply put, weapons that do not fall into any basic weapon type (except those that can be equipped by all classes or only by a certain character) cannot be used by the Expert classes. Redefining is possible to a certain extent, but nobody should change their weapon type completely. A stick cannot become a sword, for a crude example. If anyone has a problem about this issue that they feel they can't solve themselves, please consult me through PM. Quote
Fugazi Posted August 8, 2012 Posted August 8, 2012 Congrats to the winners and thanks to Sandy (and KimT!) for an exciting raffle! Quote
Jedi master Brick Posted August 8, 2012 Posted August 8, 2012 Congratulations to the winners I did not get anything but that doesn't matter, you win some you lose some. Quote
CMP Posted August 8, 2012 Posted August 8, 2012 Bloody Pointy Stick- useable only for poking dead things to make sure they are dead. I still think it would've made a great interrogation tool. Quote
Scorpiox Posted August 8, 2012 Posted August 8, 2012 The lottery was great, and I'm overjoyed to have won a prize. Quote
Brickdoctor Posted August 8, 2012 Posted August 8, 2012 Congratulations to the winners! You couldn't have given me just one Potion? Would've helped a lot, considering that Zeph took away all my consumables again. Quote
Palathadric Posted August 8, 2012 Posted August 8, 2012 Chris walks over to the blacksmith and gets his sword upgraded (from & 7 WP to 8 WP) for 80 gold. He then walked over to Fabian and bought Pugilist’s Gloves for 80 Gold, Winged Sandals for 80 Gold, Tricorne for 120 Gold and Paladin’s Armour for 200 Gold. (-560 Gold total) He then sold his share of the Hinkwell wares for 100 Gold. (569-560+100=109 Gold left) You know that you're only allowed to equip one of those at a time, right? Quote
JimBee Posted August 8, 2012 Posted August 8, 2012 I don't win anything and now I get picked on?! Zoot's Bane- Longsword Bloody Pointy Stick- useable only for poking dead things to make sure they are dead. Hehe, thanks. For the Zoot weapons it does not matter, since those were actually bound to the hero, and not to the class, I know, I was just using it as an example so as not to pick on anyone. and in the past it was decided that shortswords ARE classified as longswords. This makes sense, and goes along with the "expert" in ECs. And with this ruling, there is only one item of mine that I need to change, and that's Atticus Ziegfried's Sword of Decay (now held by Alf). It will now be classified as a braodsword/greatsword, usable by barbarians and knights only (as well as any expert class that can use broadswords/greatswords). CallMePie, if you could please make this change in the Treasury, I would appreciate it. Alexis' Flute of the Magi will remain usable to only clerics and mages, however. Quote
CMP Posted August 8, 2012 Posted August 8, 2012 Darkdragon, your description of the Bone Claws kind of clashes with how Tesni's using them, can you clarify how exactly they work? EDIT: I think I understand now, nevermind. Quote
Palathadric Posted August 8, 2012 Posted August 8, 2012 Congratulations to the winners and many thanks to KimT! Can we rant about the lottery in the lottery thread or should we only do so in the hall? I am sure Monk Pretzel will have words to say. Quote
Pandora Posted August 8, 2012 Posted August 8, 2012 Yay, actual LEGO! Thanks Sandy (and KimT) for the raffle event (and the physical prizes). Quote
Palathadric Posted August 8, 2012 Posted August 8, 2012 Dreyrugr laughs in the corner. That annoying monk seems to still hate him but luckily has not noticed him. He doesn't particularly care about the hate the monk had for him. Dreyrugr starts thinking of all the times people hated him for who he was but quickly lost count. Oh, crap. Where did this guy slip out of. Just when I thought I had gotten rid of him too! Quote
Rumble Strike Posted August 8, 2012 Posted August 8, 2012 Thank you for running the lottery, Sandy. And thanks to KimT for the physical bonus prizes. Quote
Tanma Posted August 8, 2012 Posted August 8, 2012 Thanks for the lottery, I can't believe I won. Huh, I think I have a scroll Arthur is missing... Quote
posades Posted August 8, 2012 Posted August 8, 2012 Thanks for the lottery, I can't believe I won. Huh, I think I have a scroll Arthur is missing... To gouge or not to gouge... Thanks Sandy for holding this raffle; it's something that you didn't have to do, but it was a really nice gesture to those that make this game fun. And also a special thanks to KimT for providing my prize. Quote
The Legonater Posted August 8, 2012 Posted August 8, 2012 Thanks to Sandy and KimT for hosting and helping with this wonderful raffle! Quote
Zepher Posted August 9, 2012 Posted August 9, 2012 The tags were given by the admins for the purposes of this event only, I merely designed the tag and told them the list of people who I'd like to give the tag to. I don't have a say whether future QMs and contributors will ever get a tag of their own. It is up to the admins. Why don't you have one? I think I've heard you contributed a topic or two. So cool, I can't beleive I won the virtual grand prize. WOW Cinna's coming back in style! This is exactly why I have asked QMs to stick with the basic weapon types, to little avail. And who, pray tell, created the bladerang? Quote
Waterbrick Down Posted August 9, 2012 Posted August 9, 2012 Thanks Sandy and KimT for organizing and providing prizes for the raffle, it really helped to stimulate and excite us as a community. Quote
Zepher Posted August 9, 2012 Posted August 9, 2012 I've said it before (I'm sure... probably) and I'll say it again, but I LOVE this point of the game. After a full year, the heroes are actually friends. Like... actually friends. They behave as actual friends would. They bother each other and support each other and have backs and forths that are realistic. We've played them for so long that we know them, and they've interacted with each other for so long that they know each other. And it's been natural. I remember the days when Alexis and Boomingham were only sort of friends who had quested together once, long ago, but, like friends in the real world, they happened to not become close then, but are getting closer now. I have friends like that, who we say "hey, isn't it crazy we knew each other so long, but only started talking now)?" Or Tesni, the old and faithful and oldest friend, who acts just that way. It's a player's (and hopeful writer's) dream. Thank you all who interact with Boomingham. Quote
CMP Posted August 9, 2012 Posted August 9, 2012 (edited) Yeah, I love it when there's a brief lull in the number of quests, but all the heroes just spend their time socializing and chatting like normal friends. Granted, Atramor's the one you have to quest to get to know somewhat properly, but it's fun to see the more social heroes doing it as well, it adds a lot more to the hall than just the place to 'get quests, get gear, and get drunk'. Brickdoctor Posted August 9, 2012 Posted August 9, 2012 Out of curiosity, how many characters other than Docken refer to Lawrence as, "Lord Boomingham"? Quote
