Endgame Posted August 11, 2012 Posted August 11, 2012 I'm going to laugh when Flare chooses one side over the other. Endgame, stop being a good guy, good distorts your vision.. I think I just mentioned I'm a suicidal serial killer who enjoys nothing more then to watch everyone die. Quote

Endgame Posted August 11, 2012 Posted August 11, 2012 Wait, so are you on the Croise's side or not?? TBW, you wont get the gem. I am not. The only way for Syntax to keep his sanity in check and prevent his pysche from falling to shambles is to kill... and the Fantome seemed like the best target there. Quote

Capt.JohnPaul Posted August 11, 2012 Posted August 11, 2012 LOL, Flare is reading all of this! I think he said something along the lines of, "leave all the talking to me." Quote
Endgame Posted August 11, 2012 Posted August 11, 2012 Erm. This might be problematic... Bit of a difficulty spike, Capn! Quote

Endgame Posted August 11, 2012 Posted August 11, 2012 The difficulty for this fight, in retrospect, seems pretty extreme. All the previous battles were well balanced, but we have to deal with 1,800 HP worth of baddies here. It'd take roughly 25 mugs just to knock out the Fantome, and even then, we have his two elite forces to contend with. Compared to Violetta, which was most likely one of Flare's hardest battles, this is much harder: and he has only leveled up a few times - not to mention our party is not as powerful as 33's. Quote

Don't forgot you guys have a phoenix essence and 2 smoke bombs with tons of potions. I don't think it is extreme. Maybe a little bit... but I don't know. Want me to lower the levels of the baddies? I don't think I can though. Edited August 11, 2012 by Capt.JohnPaul Quote

Maybe a little bit... but I don't know. Well, we are already one donwn and our heaviest hitter is confused. I'm not sure why we should've listened to the Croise though, for no reason other then to avoid this battle. It seems like when given a morally gray choice, choosing to complete your mission correctly nearly always results in a sudden and giant difficulty spike (and in result a nigh-impossible battle). That is more directed towards QM philosophy as a whole then you though, Capn. It's been a great quest so far, but this seems atleast double or triple the difficulty of the previous fight. If you lower the stats (And I'm not talking just level, the high HP and specials are also a pretty deciding factor) you'd have to rewind time to the start of the battle. Look, you have a Phoenix essence, 2 smoke bombs, 5 potions, 2 meads, and a remedy, a grand potion, a ton of other stuff, each enemy is poisoned, and you were only confused for 1 turn. Your heavy hitter is hastened, you are lucky. I am still standing by my opinion that this fight can be won. Quote

TheBoyWonder Posted August 11, 2012 Posted August 11, 2012 The confuse effect is too much+ the HP makes the battle unfair. Quote
Capt.JohnPaul Posted August 11, 2012 Posted August 11, 2012 The confuse effect is too much+ the HP makes the battle unfair. But Sorrow is lucky, so he will most likely not even be effected by confused at all. For strategy, maybe let the Fantome get a free hit? You could target another guard to get rid of him faster. Quote
Sandy Posted August 11, 2012 Author Posted August 11, 2012 Guys, please don't complain that a battle is too hard before you're actually about to lose. In this game it's totally possible to roll Shields all the way through any battle, the odds just need to be with you. Quote

Yeah, like the battle in the school where it was just 1 guy left, and he still managed to completely obliterate the entire enemy by himself. Also, I was wondering, if certain weapons, tools, equipment, etc are only good for a certain class, would an advanced class be able to use the items that either class could use? I am assuming so, but just thought I would double check. Quote

They're not getting damage after damage, but hit after hit, interrupted with a little confused effect and heavy damage. Don't even get me started. Weird double shift scooping ice cream. Khorne Posted August 11, 2012 Posted August 11, 2012 What an interesting party I'm in! Eric and Erdathcath are definitely somewhat more darker, pragmatic indivuals, so I wonder how the "good" monk Pretzel will react if their actions during the Quest take a darker turn . Also, the interaction between the über-religious monotheist monk and polytheist "pagan" Eric will probably be tense ... Quote

This question was recently asked by someone else as well, and the answer is yes, the advanced classes can use whatever their two basic classes can. The same goes for the Level 50 master classes, which are based on three (or in the case of Mime, six) basic classes. Quote

Well, Erdy is now a druid, so she also has a slightly lighter side which may or may not show through. If money is involved a compromise can, almost always be reached, but this being my first quest with advanced classes, I doubt that I would have much to threaten you with. Well, Erdy is now a druid, so she also has a slightly lighter side which may or may not show through. Monk Pretzel would prefer you being a ranger than a druid. Druids are pagans like Eric. Quote
