Palathadric Posted August 14, 2012 Posted August 14, 2012 Don't worry, I'll always know that you're just Big Bad Wolf in disguise and Nerwen will kill you like Beauty did. Quote

Brickdoctor Posted August 14, 2012 Posted August 14, 2012 That's why I bought five Potions before Q28. (also just in case Aura left me with dangerously low HP) 'Course, that only works if the QM lets you keep your entire inventory. Quote
Chromeknight Posted August 14, 2012 Posted August 14, 2012 Don't worry, I'll always know that you're just Big Bad Wolf in disguise and Nerwen will kill you like Beauty did. Be polite, gloating is not a good look. And why would Nerwen kill Erdy? They're both elves, both older than the average age of heroes and now both healers. If anything, the hermit is the odd one out. As for counting active clerics; Tomas, Ellaria and Sylph should be in the list too. Quote

Maybe we should get all the elven gals together on a quest sometime. Alexis, Erdy, Nerwen, Jess... maybe throw in Namyrra as an honorary elf. Edit: Random question of the day. Where are the dwarves? There have only been a handful of players who've played dwarves, and none active currently. Why no love for our bearded, stumpy-legged brethren? Edited August 14, 2012 by Chromeknight Quote
The_Customizer Posted August 14, 2012 Posted August 14, 2012 Only 10+ level elves who are over 150 years old. Otherwise, you aren't a true elf. Yet. Quote
Sandy Posted August 14, 2012 Author Posted August 14, 2012 Apologies to my questers, life is in the way of this game again. I'll try to update both quests tonight, so please be patient. Now I gotta run to work. Quote
JimBee Posted August 14, 2012 Posted August 14, 2012 I completely forgot about this... Although it will take up both of my artifact slots, I can make Hybros permanently hastened without the nasty side effect. Where are the dwarves? There have only been a handful of players who've played dwarves, and none active currently. Why no love for our bearded, stumpy-legged brethren? I was wondering the same thing myself, recently. I know Quest 35 had one in it, but yeah, we don't have anyone playing a dwarf right now. If someone would come along and start playing as one, and establish dwarven culture and origins like Eric and Haldor have, that would be awesome. And in response to your mention of elves... What is Namyrra? Some kind of dark elf? Quote

And neither is limited to any classes, you can carry them for as long as you like. Just pray for a Scroll of Cursing, you can infuse it into the armor itself and avoid even the lost artifact slot. Hell, all Skrall needs is a pair of Winged Sandals and he'll be hacking up enemies left and right with the Greatsword of Lion Nobles. Edited August 14, 2012 by CallMePie Quote
Chromeknight Posted August 14, 2012 Posted August 14, 2012 And in response to your mention of elves... What is Namyrra? Some kind of dark elf? Namrrya is a leet Fenarian. You'd have to ask Quarryman what a Fenarian is. All I remember is that they are extremely long lived. As for Winged sandals and Skrall, can he get them in his size?!? Quote
CMP Posted August 14, 2012 Posted August 14, 2012 (edited) As for Winged sandals and Skrall, can he get them in his size?!? If we're being realistic about this, he should probably be Hastened when using the sword, it's like a toothpick to him. Edited August 14, 2012 by CallMePie Quote
Khorne Posted August 14, 2012 Posted August 14, 2012 I really like the campfire songs and stories in Quest#42. Got a real Tolkien vibe from the short song, and Eric's tale was epically Norse! The basic idea of a world surrounding snake is just literally taken from the Norse Jörmungandr. The rest was made up though ! The basis of every good Norse tale is heroic bloodshed against all odds. It's like the Hollywood from medieval times . Glad you liked it! I couldn't just let that opportunity at given some more insight in Norse culture go by. Quote

You'd have to ask Quarryman what a Fenarian is. All I remember is that they are extremely long lived. In general the Fenarians as I thought of them when I was making up Namyrra are pretty much like the Dragaerans from Steve Brust's Dragaera novels (good books by the way, highly recommended), but yes, they're mainly just extremely long lived, and it's always dark in Fenario (but exactly why it's always dark I haven't had time to come up with a good explanation for yet (should probably do that before I host a quest where the heroes go to Fenario though..)) All I remember is that they are extremely long lived. Yes, what is a Fenarian? I've been reading through some of the earlier quests again, and it seems there are still some unanswered questions regarding Sandy's main plot. So I am wondering: 1. What was the deal with those bottles containing spirits found in the warehouse of Quest 2? Did the Ziegfrieds ever do anything with them? 2. What ever happened to Zelda? Did she recover from whatever Abraxas did, and are the Ziegfrieds still fighting the demon? If these are plot points that you still plan on developing, Sandy, I apologize. I just hope you haven't forgotten about them! I loved how Quest 2 was a precursor to Quest 15 (we even found the Hinckwell wares in Jolly Roger's Grotto), and upon a second look there was even a subtle reference to Quest 6 and Donny Dozenhands. Also, I was wondering about some locations marked on the maps in the Library topic. Does anyone remember if any quests took place in the High Kingdoms? If my memory serves me right then I remember Sandy posting in the Library topic about how that region was all destroyed and reclaimed by various hostile factions, but I also remember a quest taking place in Fortaan. Quest 8 took place in a desert, in an aptly-named town called Carthago, but I don't think there was a mention of where exactly that was. I'm assuming east, in the Great Desert of Abra? And I don't recall any quest taking place in Mistaria, although isn't that a faction of Guilds of Historica? If so, maybe a future quest taking place there could have some of that influence. Sorry for the long post, I hope someone can answer my questions. I would love to learn more about the geography and history of Olegaia with future quests. Quote
Scubacarrot Posted August 14, 2012 Posted August 14, 2012 Carthago is on one of the maps in the Library, this one: Wasn't Etzel's Quest in the High Kingdoms? Quote
JimBee Posted August 14, 2012 Posted August 14, 2012 Carthago is on one of the maps in the Library, this one: Wasn't Etzel's Quest in the High Kingdoms? Ah, thank you, I must have missed that earlier. And yes, Quest 16 took place on one of the islands south of the island of Moone, which I guess is part of the High Kingdoms. Quote
JimBee Posted August 14, 2012 Posted August 14, 2012 "Of course Dastan is not the only nation that has dragons. Even the southern Mistlands where I hail from has dragons that hunt silently amidst the eternal fog. I would not be surprised if a dragon or two had made its nest in the cliffs of Uland as well..." She had it all planned out from the start... (see the Unlimited Quest). EDIT: Sorry for the double-post, I thought they would merge. Quote

Dyric Rone, Arasmyth RuGard, Nerwen and Sorrow have all incorporated it into their back stories. Quote
Scubacarrot Posted August 14, 2012 Posted August 14, 2012 I think it would be a cool idea to have every Hero "hometown/place/cave/tree/hole in the ground" on a map with little icons, what do you think? Quote

I think it would be a cool idea to have every Hero "hometown/place/cave/tree/hole in the ground" on a map with little icons, what do you think? Yes, and we can have a special place marked for the tree stump! Quote

I've always thought that Pretzel was simply as good at counting as he was at preaching, that he just got the numbers wrong or was exaggerating his age. As for the 'dark side' pretzel only has 8 more battles himself. What will he do then? Pretzel the witch? The nature worshiping Druid? The Ennoc worshiping Paladin? The blood-magic shaman? I guess that just leaves sage... Quote
Professor Flitwick Posted August 14, 2012 Posted August 14, 2012 My, my, JimB, full of questions lately, aren't we? 2. What ever happened to Zelda? Did she recover from whatever Abraxas did, and are the Ziegfrieds still fighting the demon? Just like Quest 2 was a precursor to Quest 15, Quest 3 was a precursor to Quest 14. The heroes (including the cunning and handsome Thothwick ) went to Salmanda, picked up some ingredients, and saved Zelda's life. She was later featured in Quest 33, up and about protecting Zeigfried manor, so I'd assume the operation was a success. Zepher's first Quest (Quest 7, the Arena) took place in the High Kingdoms, and did his second Quest, Quest 17 'Let's start a Riot'. And I don't recall any quest taking place in Mistaria, although isn't that a faction of Guilds of Historica? If so, maybe a future quest taking place there could have some of that influence. None have as of yet, but all we know it is the home of the Metasimians. Quote
Capt.JohnPaul Posted August 14, 2012 Posted August 14, 2012 Looks like we have a new player! Zark, the adventurous Barbarian 21 year old Human Barbarian Level: 1 Power: 4 (LVL 1+WP 3) Health: 10/10 Gold: 10 Equipment: Iron Great Axe (WP3) Inventory: Potion, Bottle of Mead Welcome Pharos712. Though a barbarian's health is 8/8, not 10/10. Quote
Endgame Posted August 14, 2012 Posted August 14, 2012 I seem to consistently host quests that end in "6". Perhaps 36's followup should be 66? Quote
