371 and a staff with an Emerald imbued in it! We'll settle this at the hall.

Grah, SO upset that I missed the ending of the epic battle! :cry_sad: Oh, well, I'll make up for it by going nuts with roleplaying with Alandri.

Also, am I the only one unable to see the ending pictures of the battle in Quest 30? Photobucket seems to be glitching up. :cry_sad:

They were fine earlier; I can't see them either right now. My pictures, also hosted on Photobucket, seem to be fine; it looks like it's only Zeph's that are down. (though I did notice that some of my earlier ones now have some ugly image compression applied that originally wasn't there; not sure what Photobucket's doing right now)

Update: I did some searching, and it looks like Photobucket sometimes compresses some photos, with no real reason for doing so, and it only compresses some of them, not all of them, and it might compress them long after they were first uploaded. Might be time to go back to flickr... :sceptic:

... :cry_sad: I want Zepher pictures!

EDIT: Actually, on that note: a picture from my trip. Zeph, you never told us that Wren was building Chaos Factories in Idaho!

That's one hell of a Gun Canon. :look:

And yeah, I noticed it... but there's not much I can do! Photobucket does this once every two years or so. All sites have to go down sometimes! I'm just waiting it out. Not much else to do.

It's not down, though. Yours are the only Photobucket pictures that seem to have a problem. I've been uploading to Photobucket and embedding pictures from it in the past few hours with no problems.

It's actually a barbecue, according to my uncle.

Woooow, it's been a long time since I've really stretched my role-playing muscles. I need to do that more often!

Also, now that Arthur is (pretty much) a Sorcerer (basically as soon as he gets back to the Hall), Cronk, Atramor, and Arthur need to sign up for Fields of Glory sometime. Not before Quest 38, though!

Yes, I'm going to try to get together a really awesome Fields of Glory group after Quest 40. And having someone who can effectively cripple enemies with scrolls is pretty useful. :sweet: Just bring as many Nostrums as you can so they actually work.

*cough* Scroll of Luck *cough*:devil:

So to review:

Cronk: high SP, Guardian Angel, healing, general awesomeness

Arthur: Scroll of Luck, Shield that stuns enemies, status effects up the wazoo ( )

Atramor: Badly Poisoning (to all enemies if you can convince whoever owns that whip to sell), healing, 16x damage to rats, Hexing, Special Mirror, general awesomeness

Oh yeah. This will be epic.

Don't forget about your friendly neighborhood healer/asskicker!

Yeah, but he's stuck crawling around sewers in Quest 35 for the next six months. :laugh:I jest, I jest.

Hey, we have yet to find ourselves back in those sewers! Although, I'd rather like to find out what happens if we do get knocked out and wake up in that stagnant cess-pool of a septic system... And yeah, this new job is really cutting into my questing time. What gives, job? :cry_sad: Try not to clear out the three title-bosses before Thormanil gets to try his hand at em, alright, folks?

For what it's worth, if you read this, Jeb, go ahead and consider both of my weapons as Sharp/Blades for the purposes of the specials.

Oh, and good lord--those double blades in the hand of a mystic knight. I pity the monster-pack that has to deal with that!

Ha ha, just my luck, Arthur gets back to the Hall and all THREE of the people to whom he owes money are off on Quests. Boomingham and Skrall would be proud. :snicker:

Hmm...speaking of Boomers...he IS in the Hall right now, yes? Hmm... *scribble scribble*

Also, Doc, I don't think I ever thanked you properly for Arthur's staff. It is the PERFECT weapon for him, the Flee effect really fits his character to a tee while also being quite useful within the game mechanics.

I look forward to the ultimate conclusion tomorrow, and to a LOT of epic role-playing in the Hall in the very near future as all of us Dastan Questers return to Eubric.

You'd better stay in the Hall until I can come to collect my Gold! You could always give the Gold to someone else before you leave on a quest and ask them to give it to the hero you owe it to, though. (just don't entrust it to a Rogue. :poke: )

I'm glad it worked out so well for you. I really just created it as a weapon that would make sense for the enemy to have.

More or less. I had him step out. I didn't want to clog the thread too much. I always imagine that Boomingham has a few bars that he frequents when he's in Eubric, other than Heroica. I need to give him time to do that off screen.

EDIT: And look, there are the pictures again!

It's a GREAT thing!! Everyone wants a Bomb XX! They're a high commodity!

Everyone but De'kra.

Glad to know De'kra had a point, I would take credit or it, but honestly I only came up with it while monologuing as De'kra and I personally doubted it would be so simple.

Which is why I decided that it wouldn't make sense for Skrall to give him one. I value subtle role-playing more than straight on asking for an item.

Good to know that got across, I often have trouble knowing if a subtle message works.

By the way, I decided to look over Quest 31, and I am...confused. I can see how Arthur's tension grew with every failure to use a spell, (and got the OOTS reference) but I am a little confused about eating that guy. Specifically, why didn't he cover that guy in leaves before doing it? That way if a hero or a guard asked him what in the world was going on, he could reply, "It's a wrap."

But seriously I trust that despite the lost opportunity for a bad pun, Arthur's backstory will explain the reasons for that. Maybe it will come up if/when Arthur and De'kra meet back in the hall.

Do note that more than a little of that comes from my deciding to do that without having a plan as for why. A good example of how backstory can sometimes be written around events in the present? Perhaps. A good example of planned, logical roleplaying? Not a chance in hell.

Shush, you will ruin the immersion.

...perhaps Arthur's homeland is made mostly of fishermen, to the point that the common diet is fish and seaweed? That could explain why he could stomach eating the Admiral, he would taste merely like other fish. Forgive me if this idea conflicts with something you have all ready announced.

Speaking of backstory being written around events, I have thought of a way for Arthur's family to know so much about Bionicle, despite Word of Great Being saying that Bionicle is not connected to any Lego world. If you are interested, we can take it to private messages.

Let's, though there is a rather simple explanation revolving around Arthur's family profession (which, incidentally, IS why De'kra now calls Arthur "Nuparu", correct?).

Actually, on that note, why does De'kra still call Wren by her proper name? Shouldn't he be calling her "Roodaka"?

He doesn't know enough about her. A single person shouldn't have mulitple Naming Days, so he needs to know more before he will risk it. He already messed up once with Lewa/Tarn. Plus I blot out 2005 as best I can. (Except Time Trap) But yeah, he would probably call her Roodaka, and if not that then Teridax. This is also why he just calls Xander hammer-hero, he is havimng a hard time finding a match. I think I know what to call him, but De'kra needs to grow more before then.

Which reminds me, which do you think would work better for Arthur? Nuparu, or Vakama? I don't think Arthur has enough "it's all my fault" vibes or saged wisdom to be Vakama, but on the other hand Nuparu is not as dark as him. (except as a set) Of course, Nuparu did make police drones dedicated to maintain a corrupt city order, and some were made in secret...

Posted

In a city like this, no one is heroic. Heroica serves the corrupt houses, The town watch are incompetent, and The Wolfgpack give everyone the runaround.

In Eubric, the only way to survive is to live outside the law.

Good job. You really are working with the Fantome.
