Capt.JohnPaul Posted August 16, 2012 Posted August 16, 2012 @ Capn: Even if i get in another battle, I just flee again. and again. And again. Until somone kills em all. What did you say a bit back? It was something along the lines of "In my quest, 46, you can't flee a single battle." Great minds think a like? Quote

Jedi master Brick Posted August 16, 2012 Posted August 16, 2012 Thats a bit harsh. I would allow fleeing but have a big boulder set up to squash the heroes when the flee Quote
Capt.JohnPaul Posted August 16, 2012 Posted August 16, 2012 ...Touche. I guess I'll make every enemy pierce SP then. I beg of you! I made you go on one last boat ride with out beverages. We're even! Wait, you said at the beginning of the quest, "I'll put it on the princess's tab." Umm.... Quote

Capt.JohnPaul Posted August 16, 2012 Posted August 16, 2012 Correction: her FAMILILY's tab. they'll get a z-mail bill soon from the cruise. Familily? Be careful, you don't want to get her Fiance angry too. Quote
Endgame Posted August 16, 2012 Posted August 16, 2012 Familily? Be careful, you don't want to get her Fiance angry too. I'm human too, y'know! I make typos! I'm still unsure what gender the princess was... Quote

Brickdoctor Posted August 16, 2012 Posted August 16, 2012 "We got to crown the third emperor. Remember the homicidal dude with the bigass hammer in the last battle?" I was reading this and I realized - I decided to kill a weak, nameless orc who didn't deserve to die in the arena, and because of that, a barbarian followed me out of the prison and became Emperor of Dastan. CMP Posted August 16, 2012 Posted August 16, 2012 (edited) I was reading this and I realized - I decided to kill a weak, nameless orc who didn't deserve to die in the arena, and because of that, a barbarian followed me out of the prison and became Emperor of Dastan. It's clearly a sign - start roleplaying. It is interesting how Zepher connects all this stuff so that things like this happen. Edited August 16, 2012 by CallMePie Quote

Endgame Posted August 16, 2012 Posted August 16, 2012 I read both quests and i never realized they were the same person. Quote
CMP Posted August 16, 2012 Posted August 16, 2012 I'm pretty sure Phil was the only NPC to defeat a hero in the Arena too. What if he'd died? Quote
Scorpiox Posted August 16, 2012 Posted August 16, 2012 Way to go, Phil! Sometimes I forget that it was Cronk who 'decided to name him' Phil. Quote

Rumble Strike Posted August 16, 2012 Posted August 16, 2012 Same happened to me in my first Quest. I just had Thug A and Thug B, and Chromeknight called them Artie and Bert Quote
Brickdoctor Posted August 16, 2012 Posted August 16, 2012 I had a nameless Lion Pikeman of no significance who has never appeared again (then again, he looks just like all the other pikemen, so who knows...), and Flipz named him Simbad. Come on, the least he could've done was picked a name that started with an 'L'. Quote
Endgame Posted August 16, 2012 Posted August 16, 2012 I had an enemy called "Progg" and Monk pretzel named him "Demon". Quote
CMP Posted August 16, 2012 Posted August 16, 2012 I had an enemy called "Progg" and Monk pretzel named him "Demon". Doesn't count. Monk Pretzel calls everything 'demon'. Quote
Endgame Posted August 16, 2012 Posted August 16, 2012 Doesn't count. Monk Pretzel calls everything 'demon'. Doesn't change the fact that is what he named it. Oh, and sometimes he uses "Pagan" or "Devil". Quote
Zepher Posted August 16, 2012 Posted August 16, 2012 Who made up that rule? I sure didn't... It makes no sense that a Level 1 enemy can damage a hero with 10 SP. In my opinion it's up to the QMs to challenge players, and vice versa. I know that if Docken even returns to my quest, I'll put him through hell. ...that would have been me. I think WBD did, and now Zeph is using it. Considering that those are my last two QMs, I have a suspicion that there's a conspiracy that invented that rule just for me. Oh, it was 100% created to be used against the likes of you. I was reading this and I realized - I decided to kill a weak, nameless orc who didn't deserve to die in the arena, and because of that, a barbarian followed me out of the prison and became Emperor of Dastan. Hey, who says that I don't give my players choices! Railroading is featured HEAVILY in my quests... but so is players making world changing choices! It is interesting how Zepher connects all this stuff so that things like this happen. Well, Phil and Poletad are the two "NPCs who shouldn't be". Neither of them were in any original plans for quests. Now I think Poletad may eventually be in the most out of all my NPCs. I love that little guy. I'm pretty sure Phil was the only NPC to defeat a hero in the Arena too. What if he'd died? Then he wouldn't have been in Dastan. He wasn't originally a Dastanian, it was only at the end of the Quest that I picked his homeland, and only when we decided to do a three-pronged quest and I remembered that Dastan had three Emperors that we decided to visit his homeland. I hope it taught Zepher to always name his NPCs. Otherwise someone else will. Phil is a wonderful name for an Emperor. Come on, the least he could've done was picked a name that started with an 'L'. I don't know if you've caught the homage, but all the Frog Paladins have names starting with "P' in reference to your Lion Knights. Quote

Waterbrick Down Posted August 16, 2012 Posted August 16, 2012 Somewhere wandering around Dastan is William the Imperial Pikeman who has a hole in the top of his helmet from when Skrall borrowed it on several occasions to use as a speaking trumpet when in the large scale battles. Quote
Brickdoctor Posted August 16, 2012 Posted August 16, 2012 Oh, it was 100% created to be used against the likes of you. I knew it! I don't know if you've caught the homage, but all the Frog Paladins have names starting with "P' in reference to your Lion Knights. I can only recall two off the top of my head - Poletad and Pillus - but I did notice that. A somewhat less prominent naming tradition of mine is that in addition to all having names that start with 'L', all Lion Knights whom I've taken the time to give last names to have last names starting with a 'C' or a 'K'. (Kniveton, Comanye, Knyghton, Knoseley, Clibburne) The only exception is Admiral Mathias Thraune, whose name is different for obvious reasons, but his backstory states that he wasn't originally a Lion Knight, but an artist from Uland. (another reference there to Thrawn, with the interest) Quote
