Capt.JohnPaul Posted August 18, 2012 Posted August 18, 2012 Dude, sticky gloves. I'll be rich when I grab a pair. I thought the tons of ether cores destroyed all your gold. Quote
Endgame Posted August 18, 2012 Posted August 18, 2012 I thought the tons of ether cores destroyed all your gold. I sold them all to get my 603 gold back. Quote
Capt.JohnPaul Posted August 18, 2012 Posted August 18, 2012 I sold them all to get my 603 gold back. Can't. The weight would've sunk you little Carnival ship. Quote
Endgame Posted August 18, 2012 Posted August 18, 2012 Can't. The weight would've sunk you little Carnival ship. A trivial fact of the matter. Quote
Waterbrick Down Posted August 18, 2012 Posted August 18, 2012 After thinking about it, why make it a minimum of 1 damage? Why not go for 2, 3, or even 5. Even with the rule implemented it would still take 41 free hits to take a character like Docken out. So if you want to make things balanced you should really up that number. For the moment, now that the issue has been brought up and we've had to discuss it, I want to see QM's take a chance to creatively solve this solution, if we can't do that (especially after all these ideas have been brought up) after a few quests then we should consider nerfing. So I vote NAY for the time being. Quote

Waterbrick Down Posted August 18, 2012 Posted August 18, 2012 50 gold for every player with a "yay", from Hybros' stash. Did I mention Skrall has an unclaimed Zoot's Cookie and Zoot's Plaything. Quote
Jedi master Brick Posted August 18, 2012 Posted August 18, 2012 After seeing the other side of the argument I have to change my vote to Nay Quote
Waterbrick Down Posted August 18, 2012 Posted August 18, 2012 I see a new ad in the future. Careful Knight, a shield can only take so much from a base 123 damage unencouraged hit. Speaking of which, now that we've seen some of the advanced classes in action, are we going to get a Arena Rules update anytime soon? And Zepher how's that next set of quest recaps coming? Quote

So I vote NAY for the time being. You make a good argument, the first that convinced me partly otherwise, at least. The main thing I wanted to solve with it is not that Knights can be taken out. Let's face it, it's incredibly hard with potions and healings, indeed only specials will cause that to happen. But rather that they can not be invincible or face a poisoned enemy and do nothing. Basically what I am saying is this: Do it only for free hits. That makes sense, right? Quote

K-Nut Posted August 18, 2012 Posted August 18, 2012 After reading it over carefully, I vote Nay. Quote
Scubacarrot Posted August 18, 2012 Posted August 18, 2012 That seems overly complex. Why? Free hits are calculated seperately anyway, are just enemy level - SP? Quote
Endgame Posted August 18, 2012 Posted August 18, 2012 That seems overly complex. How so? A QM may forget it once or twice at first, but it seems like an easy rule to apply and remember. Quote

I agree, the ALOD rule would gaurantee this doesn't happen, but I think a complete balance issue is more what a lot of people want to solve, not just a quick fix to people's invincability. Quote

Hm, I don't think there is a complete "balance" issue. People are working together, not against each other (most of the time ) So... Quote
Tanma Posted August 18, 2012 Posted August 18, 2012 You know, as I look over De'kra's new image made by Flipz, it occurs to me that Pretzel might have a reaction to his ebony shadowed body, glowing eyes, and flaming sword. I might be wrong though, I just get this feeling... Quote

If we're concerned with people abusing the system then I think you would need to implement the 1st take on the rule, if we were only to apply the rule to free hits, then we would need to ban Paralyzing Venoms as well as ensure that QM's don't make enemies who cannot deliver free-hits like in the Shadeaux battle. I still say we wait and see what the QM's can come up with to combat the situation utilizing the existing rules and then come and address this issue afterwards (now that we've had several ideas presented on how to solve the problem utilizing the rules as they stand now). I'm not sure if I totally agree with you but let's see, Docken at least seems to have a few issues with how Zepher handles Quest 39, and I can't say I've really followed other (high level/equipment) Knight's lately, but let's how it goes. So for now: NAY. Quote
Jebediahs Posted August 18, 2012 Posted August 18, 2012 I urge everyone to read my argument for this new rule about a page back before voting. As I have a bit of experience as a QM and know what balancing battles is like, I feel those who have not had that experience might benefit from reading it. Blasphemy! Did you all read what I read? Is Zephyr saying that those who haven't QM'd before aren't intelligent enough to vote on the matter?! For Shame! ( ) I say, a vote for 'yay' is a vote for Wren! VOTE: NAY! on ALOD. Quote
Scorpiox Posted August 18, 2012 Posted August 18, 2012 What the hell, NAY. 'Cause I'm a horse. Well, I'm back at home, (Even though no-one but Khorne knew I was gone in the first place) so I can write proper replies to the myriad of people conversing with Haldor. It's all good. Quote
