Bricksandparts Posted October 11, 2011 Posted October 11, 2011 sandy, how do you like my new picture, made with no real bricks, all virtual and pictures from the web. I think it is pretty good. Quote
Pandora Posted October 11, 2011 Posted October 11, 2011 Sorry for not relying sooner but I am in hospital I will not have Internet access for about the next week. Daddylonglegs can dictate my actions, I am sorry but me going into hospital was unexpected. I will check in when I can. I really hope you feel better soon. Don't worry, in the meantime we'll try to get you levelled up a bit. Focus on feeling better and come back when you can. Quote
Masked Builder Posted October 11, 2011 Posted October 11, 2011 Great quest cralegoboy! It was loads of fun. Can I use to weapons in a battle? Say I use my throwing weapon, leave it where it fell, and then use my bow. Would it take one round to change weapons? Quote
Tanma Posted October 11, 2011 Posted October 11, 2011 Great quest cralegoboy! It was loads of fun. Can I use to weapons in a battle? Say I use my throwing weapon, leave it where it fell, and then use my bow. Would it take one round to change weapons? This came up recently, I believe you can change weapons without wasting a turn. Hopefully this will help. Q: What happens if you have multiple weapons? A: You can only equip one weapon at a time, and that is the weapon that is written first on your inventory. Usually the strongest available weapon is equipped, but if situation rises where you would like to use another weapon instead, just mention it to the Quest Master. Q: What does "retrievable" mean in the case of the throwing weapons? A: The throwing weapons need to be retrieved in order to use again, which means during a battle, you'll lose a turn for that. You cannot do anything else on the turn you retrieve the throwing weapon. If you have thrown several throwing weapons at the enemies, though, you can retrieve them all on the same turn. They are automatically returned to you once the battle ends, though. In any case, it would be smartest to hold another weapon ready if you have a throwing weapon. Quote

Jebediahs Posted October 11, 2011 Posted October 11, 2011 Of course you can skip your turn, if you so wish. Is there any limit to or penalty for skipping a turn? Can a party effectively carry a player who chooses never to act through an entire mission? A lazy party member or a cowardly party member would be hilarious to me, as long as I wasn't in a party with them. Quote
Peanuts Posted October 11, 2011 Posted October 11, 2011 Is there any limit to or penalty for skipping a turn? A lazy party member or a cowardly party member would be hilarious to me, as long as I wasn't in a party with them. Well, the party can prevent lazy players from getting loot or their share of the money they might get for solving the quest, so in the end, I believe fighting is the better option. Quote

A lazy party member or a cowardly party member would be hilarious to me, as long as I wasn't in a party with them. You misunderstood. A player has to choose to skip a turn. If there's an inactive player, the QM can either take control of that character's actions (or give that power to the party leader), or kick that player out of the quest altogether. There's already been a few players who've gotten into a quest, but then for some reason have not participated save for a few posts. I'd advice to be rather direct in dealing with these players in the future, so that kind of behaviour will not be encouraged. Quote
Sandy Posted October 11, 2011 Author Posted October 11, 2011 Peppermint, thanks for the updated Bestiary, it looks great! And also thanks to all the people who've been sending me their quest pitches, it ensures that this game will go on for a long time. Quote
Peppermint_M Posted October 11, 2011 Posted October 11, 2011 Peppermint, thanks for the updated Bestiary, it looks great! You are most welcome. Now I have to go off and see what that dreadfull gossip Adeline has found out Quote
Bricksandparts Posted October 11, 2011 Posted October 11, 2011 And also thanks to all the people who've been sending me their quest pitches, it ensures that this game will go on for a long time. you mean that the game will end? Quote
K-Nut Posted October 11, 2011 Posted October 11, 2011 (edited) you mean that the game will end? Might, though with its popularity, (And how Masked is here more than Star Wars )it probably won't be until at least a year from now. Edited October 11, 2011 by K-nut Quote
Sandy Posted October 11, 2011 Author Posted October 11, 2011 you mean that the game will end? Nothing lasts forever, unfortunately. But don't worry, I have no plans to end this game in the foreseeable future. I however do suspect that the popularity will wane at some point, but let's not worry about that now. Just focus on having fun! Quote
Bricksandparts Posted October 11, 2011 Posted October 11, 2011 Might, though with its popularity, (And how Masked is here more than Star Wars )it probably won't be until at least a year from now. I hope it stays active longer than a year. It really is a great game. I mean of course it is not the best game in the universe, I mean there are definitely parts that can be upgraded. Quote
Sandy Posted October 11, 2011 Author Posted October 11, 2011 I mean of course it is not the best game in the universe. WHAT?! You meanie! Haha, of course it's not. But the best part of this game is that it can be easily modified and improved based on the experiences and feedback I get from you guys. Granted, I can't please everyone and I want to keep the game simplistic so that everyone can easily play it, but you probably got what I meant. Quote
CMP Posted October 11, 2011 Posted October 11, 2011 I was actually thinking of a more advanced system, IE, taking different attack positions, as opposed to just front or back row. The best part is, it doesn't need to affect the main rules, just the Quests that'd want the system. It'd add another layer of strategy to the game. Quote

Bricksandparts Posted October 11, 2011 Posted October 11, 2011 Sandy, could I add some extra parts to my quests, such as energy. so they can gain energy, but they need it to do certain things. for instance I was thinking about a civilization quest (they have to build a castle or something like that, different tiers) Quote
CMP Posted October 11, 2011 Posted October 11, 2011 If you have more details about this kind of a battle system, do share! Well, it's just an idea for now, but I'll see if I can make something concrete. Quote
K-Nut Posted October 11, 2011 Posted October 11, 2011 Wow, Tarn, you're a busy guy! I was thinking about hitting on you in there. Why doesn't anybody hit on me? Quote
CMP Posted October 11, 2011 Posted October 11, 2011 Why doesn't anybody hit on me? Well, calling people names just because there's a bird on their head isn't very nice... *Scoff* And you wear a Gryffindor crest... Quote
