CorneliusMurdock Posted August 18, 2012 Posted August 18, 2012 How about Frodo hair? I can picture it in my mind, it would totally suit Cronk. Thought about that too. Not sure the colors it comes in suits orcs though. Maybe if they release it in black. At some point in the future, I'd love to make a small comic chronicling Cronk's life from childhood to when he arrives in Eubric. I don't have the time or dedicated space for sets right now. Maybe someday. @WBD: Let's let Cronk have some dignity. The Orc HEADS are cheap, but the helmet Cronk wears...not so much. It also doesn't help that I can't seem to find more than one part I'm looking for at a given Bricklink store. I'm going to be using Reasonably Clever's Buy-Me-Mizer to buy my first Orc head, as well as Haldor's head, just because I can get multiple useful things in one transaction. Weird that the helmet is expensive. I always thought if it was a piece I managed to own, it couldn't be worth that much. Quote
posades Posted August 18, 2012 Posted August 18, 2012 Sandy, does Fabian buy back weapons with special abilities as well, or are we stuck selling them to rip-off trusty Anwyl? Quote
CMP Posted August 18, 2012 Posted August 18, 2012 Rufindel's back! Again! On a somewhat related note, when do you expect to post the chosen heroes, Scuba? Sandy, does Fabian buy back weapons with special abilities as well, or are we stuck selling them to rip-off trusty Anwyl? I doubt it, artifacts and special weapons are completely separate. We're stuck peddling those to other heroes. Quote

There is no way in hell I'd ever want to sell one of Doc's special-ability weapons to a vendor even if they offered a better price, they're just too awesome. Hell, I don't think I'd want to sell them to other players unless I had to. Quote

Flipz Posted August 18, 2012 Posted August 18, 2012 (edited) Well, time for a random question: If you could be any one existing Heroica class (basic, Advanced, or Expert) in Real Life, which would you be and why? Also, a bonus question, though I'd especially like the opinion of Sandy: Out of all the character designs we've seen in Heroica RPG so far (Heroes, NPCs, background extras) which is your favorite and why? Zepher Posted August 18, 2012 Posted August 18, 2012 (edited) What a kick-megablocks party. EDIT (in response to Flipz): I would be a cleric. In all honesty, they can do the most good in a real-world scenario... though I guess a Sage would be equally useful on the healing front, and you'd have the added bonus of also being... you know, like super magic. CMP Posted August 18, 2012 Posted August 18, 2012 What a kick-megablocks party. Hell yeah. And probably Rogue. But the Thothwick-type of Rogue who just remains to himself quietly than the Atramor-type Rogue. Quote
Scubacarrot Posted August 18, 2012 Posted August 18, 2012 I'm with Zepher, being a sage sounds like the most useful and awesome thing in real life. Although an Evoker would be close second. Quote
Zepher Posted August 18, 2012 Posted August 18, 2012 I also love all the references made by... everyone about the time Tesni almost killed Hoke. I literally laugh every time I read it. Speaking of which, where has Hoke been recently? I miss him. Quote
Scorpiox Posted August 18, 2012 Posted August 18, 2012 I'm with Zepher, being a sage sounds like the most useful and awesome thing in real life. Except if you find yourself being mugged, or in a gym. Quote
Flipz Posted August 18, 2012 Posted August 18, 2012 The doors suddenly swing open, a huffing and puffing guardsman comes running in, stopping at the Questing Board. He scrapes his throat, trying (and failing) to get the attention of the Heroes around him. He reads from a scroll the participants for Quest 40, The Strivvian Job. [*]Lord Lawrence T. Boomingham (Zepher) *Party Leader* Ahahahahahaha. Sorry, Docken! Quest 40's gonna be awesome, even though Town Watch isn't really Arthur's style. Quote

Zepher Posted August 18, 2012 Posted August 18, 2012 Sisco, I do apologize for not taking you on this Quest. If there were a sixth spot, you'd have it, but you are one of the few heroes to have already been on 2 Wren Quests, so I thought I'd give some new blood a shot instead. Besides, Althior and Alexis AND Jess and Haldor have had a very nice run of being on Quests together, I say it's time to send 'em their own ways for a while. Quote
Scorpiox Posted August 18, 2012 Posted August 18, 2012 The Quest 38 party is going to kick absolute megablocks. I seriously cannot think of a better one. And party leader too! I think we need some awesome music, don't you? Sisco, I do apologize for not taking you on this Quest. Flipz Posted August 18, 2012 Posted August 18, 2012 Hoke is a knight... See what I mean? Zeph, I would LOVE your thoughts on the perspective Arthur's offering in his little speech, it's what I understand of Chaos so far and really fits who Arthur is, where he came from (*cough*secretbackstory*cough*), and what he learned in Dastan. Also: Quest 38 party = WIN. This is going to be SO fun. Quote
Rumble Strike Posted August 18, 2012 Posted August 18, 2012 I would also like to say that I really hope Tarn does not become a Shaman. The class doesn't suit him at all, as far as I can see. Besides, if he becomes a Shaman he will have to start running around bare-chested like our other two Shamans. Ewww!!! Why do you think Tarn does not suit being a Shaman? And no, Tarn would not be rocking the bare chested look if he did become a Shaman. I know heroes can go back and forth on Advanced Classes, but not many seem to have taken up the option. So in pure role playing terms Tarn would be a Shaman because his mentor is a Cleric, and it would be honouring him. In gameplay terms Bezerkers look really fun to me, although I would hate to lose the ability to Frenzy, it's so useful! Quote
CMP Posted August 18, 2012 Posted August 18, 2012 Quests 38 and 40's parties are just fantastic. Quote

Maybe you should have asked Ella to look into the future and decide which Advanced Class Tarn should choose. Hmm... *scribble scribble* I think that Tarn just works better as Bezerker, sure, he's a gentle, caring type, but he really seems to be more of a fighter than a healer. I also just can't seem to picture Tarn using Ether, he seems too down-to-earth for that. Quote

Well, as much as I hate to admit it, neither Wren nor I actually "own" Chaos. It was sort of a concept before us, so I don't know if Wren or I am really allowed to call an interpretation "wrong". Well, Wren can, and probably will, but I won't be so pompous as to do that. What I think you're asking, actually, is if your understanding of Chaos is close to Wren's beliefs. And to that... I'd say you're pretty close. Arthur, Haldor and Skrall have all said things that are very similar to what Wren believes. She herself has stated two major parts of her thoughts on Chaos: In Haddon she said it was essentially the way the world works, so you just got to go with the flow, because you can't fight it; and in Dastan (and also Haddon a bit), she talked about how SOMEONE's got to be in charge of all that Chaos. She will reveal one more important part of her thoughts on Chaos in Quest 38. I'm REALLY excited to tell the story of Quest 38. Wren took a back-seat in Quest 30. She takes more of an active part than ever before in Quest 38. Quote

I'm pleased, though; I'm trying hard to picture what Chaos would look like as a philosophy held by a population of people (rather than just Wren alone), and certain fundamental things keep popping up. I do find it VERY interesting that, despite the "go with the flow" nature of Chaos, one of the major traits of a good masterful Chaos user is decisiveness; you have to work actively with it in order to use it properly. When faced with chaos, one must act. It's a small phrase, but it's really, REALLY shaped my perspective on both Arthur and on Chaos in general. EDIT: And now for a rules question: since the weapons created by Zoot's Playthings are soulbound (useable only by a specific character), would they be useable by any Expert Class the character chooses, even if they would otherwise be unsuitable? (In my mind, I'm picturing them altering themselves to suit whatever new weapon abilities the user chooses.) It doesn't particularly matter for Arthur, since I have a fairly unique form in mind for when Arthur gets his own Plaything, but I'd still like to know. Edited August 18, 2012 by Flipz Quote

I actually considered it for the Chimera Battle, but I'm really afraid of giving away anything about her stats... aka I'm afraid of making up stats for her. I don't even remember writing that phrase. Did Wren say it? I'm assuming when you met her in Quest 31? I'm sorry, I write so much for this game, it's hard to remember each phrase. I'd say YES unless Sandy says NO. Quote
