Rumble Strike Posted August 18, 2012 Posted August 18, 2012 I'm thinking now, in pure gameplay terms, that Raider might be the way to go. Tarn would keep a Frenzy-style Shield, and be rolling in money. Can't see a drawback really. With the way people buy Mead all the time, Bezerker's Shield roll seems underpowered. Quote
Flipz Posted August 18, 2012 Posted August 18, 2012 I actually considered it for the Chimera Battle, but I'm really afraid of giving away anything about her stats... aka I'm afraid of making up stats for her. I don't even remember writing that phrase. Did Wren say it? I'm assuming when you met her in Quest 31? I'm sorry, I write so much for this game, it's hard to remember each phrase. I'd say YES unless Sandy says NO. I was half expecting a pair of Chaos Beasts to join the party for the Chimaera fight after all that talk Wren gave about how the Chimaera had to be stopped, and I was a little sad when they didn't show. No, Arthur did, when I went to Cars Land and gave you control of him during the Q31 Chaos Beast fight. That's why I gave you roleplaying control of Arthur to you when I was on the road; I was hoping for more juicy tidbits like that. Awesome. Hopefully there will be a couple of Playthings in Quest 38, then, I want to activate Arthur's (if he gets one) while Wren is watching. Quote
Jedi master Brick Posted August 18, 2012 Posted August 18, 2012 Love the selction of heroes for quest 38 and quest 40, I will be reading both of those quests closely. Quote
Zepher Posted August 18, 2012 Posted August 18, 2012 (edited) "You see, there's another perfect example, honey pot." "And how many times must I stress for you poor heroes that my goal is not to kill people. When I come into power, nothing will change except I will be in power. No more or less people will die. Chaos already seeps everywhere, I will just be holding the reins now. I'll let you in on a little secret, Skrall. I am here in Dastan to save two people's lives. That's all. That is my true, honest, hand to Zoot, goal. I pinky promise." Wren gives an award-winning smile. Happy I went searching for that Arthur moment. I love re-reading old Wren stuff. Where the hell did the pet name Honey Pot come from? I also enjoy the "award winning smile". Finally, the reason I actually copied it, if anyone wants a quick review of Wren's view on Chaos and her goals... that final paragraphs a useful read . I also LOVE Atramor's dismissal of Wren. "Yeah, she's crazy man." Everyone else is trying to figure her out, and Atramor could care less. Edited August 18, 2012 by Zepher Quote

CMP Posted August 18, 2012 Posted August 18, 2012 Those who do not learn from history... ...Kill the person who repeats it. No, I actually find the background of Wren and her motives quite interesting, though I often get a headache when I try to put it all together. Quote
Flipz Posted August 18, 2012 Posted August 18, 2012 Those who do not learn from history... ...Kill the person who repeats it. That...that was great. That needs to be enshrined for posterity. "Yeah, she's crazy man." Everyone else is trying to figure her out, and Atramor could care less. Yeah, I love reading her past work, too. Though I have to wonder, how does that tie in with: "I do wish to see the world burn. It will be ever so pretty. Good bye. I'll see you all soon. It's been a pleasure." I wonder? Quote
Sandy Posted August 18, 2012 Author Posted August 18, 2012 EDIT: And now for a rules question: since the weapons created by Zoot's Playthings are soulbound (useable only by a specific character), would they be useable by any Expert Class the character chooses, even if they would otherwise be unsuitable? (In my mind, I'm picturing them altering themselves to suit whatever new weapon abilities the user chooses.) It doesn't particularly matter for Arthur, since I have a fairly unique form in mind for when Arthur gets his own Plaything, but I'd still like to know. I'd say YES unless Sandy says NO. I can agree to that, if the Plaything's are the only weapons allowed to change type to suit the Expert Classes. No other QM can create such weapons, and even Zepher should keep their amount limited. JimBee Posted August 18, 2012 Posted August 18, 2012 OoC: JimB, I am now thinking it would be awesome if you developed an Expert Class based on the Rito. I had considered it, but growing a pair of wings isn't exactly realistic... though who says they have to be grown? I may or may not decide to create one, but I think I'll have to talk to Scubacarrot... Quote

Peppermint_M Posted August 18, 2012 Posted August 18, 2012 Tesni gets to face Wren once more! Huzzah... Seeing as she thinks along similar lines, who knows what will happen? Quote

Scorpiox Posted August 18, 2012 Posted August 18, 2012 WBD, there is still time to sell Haldor your plaything before he departs! Please man, I need it! Pretty pwease? Quote
Palathadric Posted August 18, 2012 Posted August 18, 2012 (edited) Well, time for a random question: If you could be any one existing Heroica class (basic, Advanced, or Expert) in Real Life, which would you be and why? Prophet, for sure. ...Minstrel? Paladin. I also love all the references made by... everyone about the time Tesni almost killed Hoke. I literally laugh every time I read it. Speaking of which, where has Hoke been recently? I miss him. Yes, UsernameMDM, bring us Hoke back. He was a real favourite of mine in Quest #19, I believe it was. But yahoo! We've got Rufindel is back in the game!!! Now just to get Maurice back as well and we can have an all-Cleric party. Somehow Nerwen doesn't seem to fit into this party though. Pretzel for party leader. Edited August 18, 2012 by Palathadric Quote
CMP Posted August 18, 2012 Posted August 18, 2012 Sell it to Lycan! For a whopping 10 gold? Oh my god. Skrall's going to be unstoppable. Quote
Palathadric Posted August 18, 2012 Posted August 18, 2012 Lord Lawrence T. Boomingham (Zepher) *Party Leader* Ellaria Arbour (Sandy) Atramor Gibbin (Callmepie) Skrall (Waterbrick Down) Nyx (Pandora) Rufindel Galadhras (Rufus) That's one hell of a team. Scubacarrot, you're ripping all the off so many of Heroica's best. Quote

Sorry Scorpiox, Skrall is going to hold onto it until a good role-playing bit pops up. I wouldn't be opposed to Haldor having it, there just needs to be more incentive than I'll pay you X amount of gold for the item. Quote

Palathadric Posted August 18, 2012 Posted August 18, 2012 I think that Tarn just works better as Bezerker, sure, he's a gentle, caring type, but he really seems to be more of a fighter than a healer. I also just can't seem to picture Tarn using Ether, he seems too down-to-earth for that. Exactly! Tarn just does not seem like an ether-wielder. I said that he should go Berserker a while back in this thread, if I'm not mistaken. It just seems to suit him a whole lot better. And Shaman's are an insult to good and noble clerics. They are bare-chested and blood-suckers. Quote
Rumble Strike Posted August 18, 2012 Posted August 18, 2012 Hmmm, so go Bezerker to fit character, or Raider to play the system. Quote
