Jebediahs Posted August 19, 2012 Posted August 19, 2012 How does the Lucky effect on an enemy NPC work? Does it cause a temporary Jinxed effect on a player that targets it? Quote
Zepher Posted August 19, 2012 Posted August 19, 2012 I can agree to that, if the Plaything's are the only weapons allowed to change type to suit the Expert Classes. No other QM can create such weapons, and even Zepher should keep their amount limited. 5 total will exist. One for each Wren Quest. Tesni gets to face Wren once more! Huzzah... Seeing as she thinks along similar lines, who knows what will happen? And with Arthur around... we could have a really pro-Wren party! For the record: Yes, the Language of the Frogs bit is a set-up for a hilarious roleplaying gag later on down the line. I love the Frog Paladins. They should start to pop up more. Speaking of which, why is that side-quest the only one that's not shown at the end of Quest 30? Because Zepher is lazy and also went out that night and forgot he had not done one. And to think I was going to give you that Zoot's Plaything. I think Boomingham should get the play thing. That would be a fun twist. Quote
JimBee Posted August 19, 2012 Posted August 19, 2012 How does the Lucky effect on an enemy NPC work? Does it cause a temporary Jinxed effect on a player that targets it? I think this would make the most sense. We really need to establish how each effect affects both heroes and enemies. 5 total will exist. One for each Wren Quest. Except there were two in Quest 7. Myrddyn Posted August 19, 2012 Posted August 19, 2012 *Snip* why make it a minimum of 1 damage? Why not go for 2, 3, or even 5. *Snip* I agree. Maybe minimum damage could be put in brackets after the level? Going back to the original question, All in favor of the "At Least One Damage"-rule, say YAY. All against it say NAY. I'm not in favour of the rule being completely banned, but I'm not in favour of it being made compulsory either. If it was banned, QM's who wanted to use it could, for example, reduce a monsters level by one, and make it cause the poisoned effect for one round, right? And that would have the same end result? So I will vote NAY. Quote

Flipz Posted August 19, 2012 Posted August 19, 2012 Question: Artifacts with a set price may be sold for half that value without having to haggle, correct? Quote
Brickdoctor Posted August 19, 2012 Posted August 19, 2012 Question: Artifacts with a set price may be sold for half that value without having to haggle, correct? Since you mentioned the prices and artifacts you have, I went back and reviewed Quest 4, and I realized that the Robe of the Magi in the Marketplace is being sold for the same price it was sold for when I introduced it in the Questing Outfitter's Shop waaaaay back in Brobric. Nice touch, Sandy. Which brings up an interesting fact: I had forgotten that Horses were actually introduced in that shop in Quest 4, not as drops in Quest 17. Their powers were also different; they could halve the travel time for two heroes, not one, but they had no Power or WP bonuses. Quote
Sandy Posted August 19, 2012 Author Posted August 19, 2012 Here's the result of the "At Least One Damage"-rule voting: YAY: 9 (Brickdoctor, Zepher, JimButcher, Flipz, Scubacarrot, Endgame, Vash the Stampede, Pandora, Jebediahs) NAY: 17 (CallMePie, The_Customizer, Quarryman, VolcanicPanik, Peppermint_M, Capt.JohnPaul, darkdragon, Waterbrick Down, Jedi master Brick, K_Nut, Scubacarrot, Scorpiox, Palathadric, Rumble Strike, Kadabra, Xarrzan, Myrddyn) The verdict is clear: the "ALOD"-rule will not be implemented into the game. Due to this public demand, it must not be used by any Quest Master anymore. You just have to find some other ways to get around high SP. Inventing an effect that forces people to fight in the front row (opposite of "afraid") could be a start. I think this would make the most sense. We really need to establish how each effect affects both heroes and enemies. Not all effects can be applied to enemies. But as for "Lucky", it could very well work like that ("jinxing" the hero who targets it for that turn). Question: Artifacts with a set price may be sold for half that value without having to haggle, correct? Yes, artefacts permanently sold by Fabian can be sold for half of their value automatically. And an answer to an older question: only artefacts can be haggled with Fabian. He will not buy any other type of items. Quote
JimBee Posted August 19, 2012 Posted August 19, 2012 Here's the result of the "At Least One Damage"-rule voting: Yay for working it out. Not all effects can be applied to enemies. But as for "Lucky", it could very well work like that ("jinxing" the hero who targets it for that turn). Obviously they can with those special-stealer effects of yours! (Like Violetta I mean). Quote
Sandy Posted August 19, 2012 Author Posted August 19, 2012 Obviously they can with those special-stealer effects of yours! (Like Violetta I mean). But Violetta could only steal artefacts, and very few artefacts inflict their owner with negative effects. All positive effects ("lucky" now included) can be applied to enemies. Effects such as "petrified", "fast asleep", "bound", "afraid", "slowed" and "jinxed" cannot be applied to enemies (at least not in the moment). Quote
Tanma Posted August 19, 2012 Posted August 19, 2012 (edited) Inventing an effect that forces people to fight in the front row (opposite of "afraid") could be a start. . Like this? Enraged. The target is mocked about a flaw of their character, driving them to attack from the front row in a blind frenzy. Lasts until the caster is KO'ed or the effect is remedied. Masked Builder Posted August 19, 2012 Posted August 19, 2012 A silly looking quiet man slips into the Hall, tacks something on the Questboard, and slips back out. Chosen Players Quest 38 Haldor (Scorpiox) *Party Leader* Alexis (Masked Builder) Tesni Hightribe (Peppermint_M) Arthur (Flipz) Cronk (CorneliusMurdoch) Huzzah for remembering the rules for advanced classes! We still leave on Monday. Fields of Glory folks, if you'd both rather stay there, I can fill your spots with someone else, though you know I'd love to have you! While I think the FoG is pretty awesome, Wren still needs to meet Alexis. Excellent RP'ing there. We'll hope over after the battle. Quote
Scorpiox Posted August 19, 2012 Posted August 19, 2012 Benji Carvenhall (Flare) 27-year-old Male Half-Elf Assassin Level 20 1/3 Power: 30 (Level 20 + WP 10) Defense: 3 Health: 31/31 (Basic health: 6 + level bonus: 20 + class bonus: 5) Gold: 26 Equipment: Crossbow of the Pongcanis (WP: 10; Darkness, Ice, Light Elemental) + Tricorne (SP:3) + Counterstrike Gloves Inventory: Armor of the Draugr (max health +2), Wave Sword (WP:11, cursed effect), Croise Crossbow (WP: 11), Pickaxe, Bedroll, Shovel, Venom x2, Mead x2, Smoke Bomb x2, Remedy x1, Lightning Bomb x1, Diamond It's hard to imagine Benji as an Assassin, but he does look really nice. I have one question, however. What is the idea of having a Light and Darkness elemental weapon, isn't that just a contridiction? Quote
Brickdoctor Posted August 19, 2012 Posted August 19, 2012 I have one question, however. What is the idea of having a Light and Darkness elemental weapon, isn't that just a contridiction? Not really. You still get the double Damage against Undead and Humanoids, which is what most players want to get out of those two elements, and the two elements cancel out each others' weaknesses, so you also get the normal Damage against every enemy. (well, in Benji's case, not against Icy Monsters, since he's also got an Opal in there) Quote
CMP Posted August 19, 2012 Posted August 19, 2012 I have one question, however. What is the idea of having a Light and Darkness elemental weapon, isn't that just a contridiction? No, he deals double damage to Humanoids and Undead, but can damage both Holy and Demonic creatures normally. Quote
Flipz Posted August 19, 2012 Posted August 19, 2012 No, he deals double damage to Humanoids and Undead, but can damage both Holy and Demonic creatures normally. Not to mention, it's got the same typing as the Chaos Beast of Dastan... Quote

CMP Posted August 19, 2012 Posted August 19, 2012 Boomingham looks awesome. But he looks more like an Assassin than a Paladin. Quote
Scorpiox Posted August 19, 2012 Posted August 19, 2012 I want to take Boomingham on a quest with Isaac Shawe. That would be hilarious, seeing as they look both nearly exactly the same. Quote
