Is it really necessary? The main threads (Heroica Hall, Quest Masters, Market Place, the Library and this thread) are always on the main page, so you only need to scroll down a bit to find them. The library also has links to all of the Quests, so in essence, it is the Heroica Index. :sceptic:

Yeah that's all very true. Maybe just pin the library?

Pffft, he's just a cleric

I'll turn them into toads, and then there'll be a clear winner.

Right, let's settle this! Rangers, on your marks to flip tables, barbarians ready to leap of the balcony, mages remove your fake facial hair! I'm going BEASTMODE!!! :pirate_skel1:

Aww, please don't turn Jess's boyfriend into a toad.

See! She still  me!

Seriously, Tarn may need a rapid slapping in the face to try and chat up all those females at once!

Would it be possible to have a training room of sorts in the hall? Somewhere for heroes to battle against their fellows, and improve their skills. That way people who weren't chosen for quests have something to do, and learn a little more about battling. Of course there would have to be rules to prevent people from using it to level up quick, but could this work?

I like that idea. Maybe there could be random periodic fights in a Training Area sort of place, but you can't fight more than once every week or two, or something like that.

They could simply do it just for fun without gaining level-ups, just dividing a number of heroes in two groups with an impartial umpire rolling the die.

I think that's a really good idea. Maybe each (victorious) hero could only grow half of a level (or, for heroes level ten or over, just a quarter of a level) per battle? Or like Peanuts said, it could just be for fun.

I thought of it thanks to all the romance/tension in the hall. I figure that the Veterans won't want all the heroes to slaughter each other over disagreements, so they might try to control the fights with organized battles. That way tension can be eased, and the hall doesn't get lit on fire. Of course the fights can be merely friendly or to train, but I can see some a barbarian and a cleric using it to settle disagreements...

Leo could pull any girl in the hall. When I get back from my quest, and me and Jess are both in the hall, I will so ask her out. Might be a laugh having a fight between me and a homicidal cleric!

Leo Aragon wakes up to find he has been eviscerated, he shortly dies, his last sight is Haldor leaving with Jess.

Just joking!

I like the idea of a no-level-up training room, it would allow me to burn the dead corpses of anyone who touches Jess.

For those who don't know, the meaning of evisceration is:

To remove the entrails of; disembowel.

If experience is to be given, then we should limit the usage amount, e.g. Only one battle a week would prevent people from abusing it too much.

Or at least only one experience-giving battle a week. :sceptic:

How about monthly championships with a prize of 1000 gold and seeding sorted by level

That is a bit much of a reward, though the tournament idea is interesting. I don't think levels is the best way to divide them, since some quests are longer than others. Maybe the number of quests they have been on would be better?

Yeah maybe 250 gold may be better

Jess will receive a rose, and a message saying good luck signed by L.Aragon.

And Haldor better watch out, Leo has a brother. We all thought he was dead but no. He will appear in my upcoming quest I am writing.

And guess what? If a fight breaks off, the hall will be a battlefield. Luc was trigger happy, but Leo is a world champion at chopping heads off with his Gladius.

Anyway, I like this Training room idea. A tournament is a good idea.

I actually thought about this when I planned for the game, but ultimately decided against it. I don't really want players to level up without participating into quests (because they're the meat of this game), and making it "just for fun" doesn't feel worthwhile the trouble of hosting it.

But I wouldn't worry about not getting into quests, as there's at least two more quests (not hosted by me) coming up as soon as some of the current ones end. There should be plenty of chances to go adventuring for everyone.

Just a question. How do I join?

Read the rules, put your character's stats in your signature, and then post your character arriving in the hall. That should be it, unless I have forgotten a step.

Leo's last act was to give Jess a note and a rose, which where promptly thrown on the fire. Leo's brother Luc arrives but unfortunatly Leo has died. Luc is clubbed over the head and dies too.

As a wise old sage once said, 'Shut up thou, thou smell bad and this is not thy thread for said discussions. Thy shall see in time what thy fair maiden chooses. And you smell bad!

Jokes!

Thank you. Okay, I'm almost ready to play, just 2 more questions:

1. If I want my character to have two katana, what class should I be in?

2. Can my character have a flesh tone face?

I don't see anything in the rules about these things, so could someone please tell me? I really want to join, and I have a good idea for a character. I just want to know if this character would fit in the game.

1. Depends what you class them as, if you classify them as longswords then knight or rogue

2. Of course! Sandy has said any fantasy race is allowed, including one you made up. The Mopag in BrickDoctor's great quest have flesh faces, but I don't think you could call them human though, as the humans in Heroica are yellow.

The Mopag have flesh toned skin, though they use the big eyed clone wars heads; so it should be fine.

The "love triangle" thing is part of the roleplaying. Tarn really isn't a "playa", you know, or he'd be with Ellaria already

Aye, similarly I'm trying to make Haldor into an a person who might misunderstand things and get angry if he thinks someone is doing something that is not right. This is why I'm making him dislike Tarn, because he 'thinks' that Tarn is being a two-timer. I really enjoy this side of the RPG, as it is great fun to develop your own ABS lil' guy.

Just so long as you don't touch Jess!
