Zepher Posted September 2, 2012 Posted September 2, 2012 Yeah, Atramor is probably a little more age appropriate for Nyx. But it will be interesting to see what happens. There's a lot of room between dating and acquaintances, and there's certainly more than one kind of love! Quote
Masked Builder Posted September 3, 2012 Posted September 3, 2012 Flipz, thanks for pouring all this role playing in. The NPCs of this quest are quieter than normal Zepher PCs, so I'm really excited to see how the PCs interact with each other in reaction to what they find. I also totally didn't realize the potential with Alexis and Arthur in a party together. They don't really know each other too well, but Althior is the mentor of Arthur, and they've spoken about Alexis many times. It will be exciting to see how those three grow together, especially with Arthur's flirting. I smell actually interesting character conflict!!! Hopefully it goes the way I want it to... Althior/Alexis and Haldor/Jess would be open knowledge, going by the Hogwarts Heroica Pattented 'Rumors Get Around' System ®TM The rest would be available in the Library--the Vampires especially, as that involved a Hero sitting out a fight. I figure extra detail would be put into what Haldor said there so the record could not be misconstrued--though obviously that hasn't stopped Arthur. Though we've broken up at this point. Happy? Quote
Dannylonglegs Posted September 3, 2012 Posted September 3, 2012 Nur looks back down the path they just traveled. He thinks an opportunity was missed by leaving five merry women unconscious in the middle of nowhere with no law enforcement or other witnesses in sight. He grinned and returned from his daydreaming. "Anyone have a compass?" That's very unsettling. ~Insectoid Aristocrat Quote
Zepher Posted September 3, 2012 Posted September 3, 2012 I like Cronk's lament. And Nur has always had an... interesting thought process with regards to woman. Takes all kinds of characters to build a world. It was a courageous and bold choice Jebs made with his character, and I'm very pleased he's stuck to it. Quote
Brickdoctor Posted September 3, 2012 Posted September 3, 2012 We chase after the boys to the right, but stay on guard for traps. All the traps are in the ceiling trees. Pick up a stick and start poking. Quote
Jedi master Brick Posted September 3, 2012 Posted September 3, 2012 Crazy Ranger Elgar tries to eat a whole cow; Crazy Ranger Bacari jumps off of a chandelier and fires a poisoned arrow into that cow; and Crazy Ranger Docken flips over a table providing 1d20 of protection! Yep those were the days. We Rangers had a riot going on in the hall. But I guess that is what happens when every single hero in the hall and many (me included)have no idea how to roleplayed properly Quote
Pyrovisionary Posted September 3, 2012 Posted September 3, 2012 I think we're being a bad example for the newbie. No, it's a shuriken-throwing Crusader. A Crusader that throws shurikens, not a Shuriken Crusader. Also, the mention of Crusader in the Hall upon which the shuriken-throwing Crusader encounter was based was a mention of Crusaders opposed by Forestmen as part of one of Docken's stories, a clear reference to TLG's storyline and their Crusaders. Newbie yourself! And do not refer to me as the new guy. Madman is fine but not the new guy. I have a name if anyone cares? So we have ,Brickdoctor AND masked builder. 457th corps much? Lol :3 Quote
Chromeknight Posted September 3, 2012 Posted September 3, 2012 (edited) What have I changed about Nerwen? Originally I conceived her as being in her mid twenties, figuring that a decade for a elf is about a year for a human. But as I got to know her, turns out she's older. And bossier. And Flipz, I count at least three pop culture references in Arthur's flashback, but did I miss any? Edited September 3, 2012 by Chromeknight Quote
Palathadric Posted September 3, 2012 Posted September 3, 2012 But I thought only 1 person would duel the Fantome. Really?!? Why are you so certain you will be the one to do so? You'll be dead long before you reach the Fantome. Quote
Zepher Posted September 3, 2012 Posted September 3, 2012 Just a heads up, Endgame: you forgot to subtract 40 health from the spore dude for Round 2! Quote
Scorpiox Posted September 3, 2012 Posted September 3, 2012 Battle Order! Sorry, s'all right now. Quote
Endgame Posted September 3, 2012 Posted September 3, 2012 Just a heads up, Endgame: you forgot to subtract 40 health from the spore dude for Round 2! Thanks for the heads-up, Zepher. Anyone who knows what video game the grand Phoenix is quoting from in this round's blurb gets a cookie. It has to do with Snakes... Quote
CorneliusMurdock Posted September 3, 2012 Posted September 3, 2012 Sorry, s'all right now. Really? Not a good day for my game characters. Quote
Scorpiox Posted September 3, 2012 Posted September 3, 2012 Really? Not a good day for my game characters. I edited my post to include the battle order...? And yeah, that round was pretty horrific for all of us. Quote
Pyrovisionary Posted September 3, 2012 Posted September 3, 2012 (edited) I am getting impatient... I really wanna do my first quest. And I have though of a billion scenarios that my Pc could play out if I was in #44. I hate my lack of patience. For anyone who wants one. Example: Jon walks down the street, as he passes a drinking beggar, he takes his bottle, Downs it, and gives the empty bottle to another beggar whom he passes. Now, he sees the mage begging for gold, who is obviously wearing a pouch full of it. He strokes his beard, pondering whether or not to steal it. He shrugs, mumbling that "He wouldn't miss it anyway" and as he walks past, he picks it up. + 10 gold suckers! Edited September 3, 2012 by Skyrimguy Quote

Endgame Posted September 3, 2012 Posted September 3, 2012 Skyrimguy, you can't just take 10 gold you find on the street. If you could, everyone would be stumbling upon giant moneybags. Only a QM can create Gold. Quote
Flipz Posted September 3, 2012 Posted September 3, 2012 And Flipz, I count at least three pop culture references in Arthur's flashback, but did I miss any? Caroline is, of course, a Portal 2 reference (a spoilerific one, actually ), but we knew that from the Q31 flashback. "We took it all" is lifted directly from Pirates of the Caribbean: The Curse of the Black Pearl, during Barbossa's monologue on the curse, and of course "A maze of twisty passages, all alike" if a reference to the old-school adenture games. There's probably more that I've forgotten, though. Quote
Endgame Posted September 3, 2012 Posted September 3, 2012 Caroline is, of course, a Portal 2 reference (a spoilerific one, actually Not really. You can learn it very early in the game. Quote
Tanma Posted September 3, 2012 Posted September 3, 2012 Not really. You can learn it very early in the game. I assumed he meant the Caroline in that game has similar features to Arthur's Caroline, like they have a similar fate. So linking the pair might spoil his plans for Arthur's past. Now if only I ever played Portal/Portal 2... Quote
Flipz Posted September 3, 2012 Posted September 3, 2012 Not really. You can learn it very early in the game. Well, okay, you LEARN it very early on, but you don't learn the true significance until much later. Quote
