swils Posted September 4, 2012 Posted September 4, 2012 Monk Pretzel has just reached new levels of selfishness. Honestly, I'd love to see you flesh out Pretzel to be that selfish. It would work for him. I think it would have some nasty repercussions not too far down the road in the form of community-wide disdain, but it also has the potential to spark a revolution among the underappreciated Support Classes Union! Rise up, take what is rightfully yours! Quote
Pyrovisionary Posted September 4, 2012 Posted September 4, 2012 I totally just changed my character's rank to be able to use Red vs Blue quotes. Read more in the hall! Quote
Zepher Posted September 4, 2012 Posted September 4, 2012 Who's enjoying "The Life and Times of Wren". I am... I'm really happy to see how people react to all this. I'm happy I saved her past for the fourth quest in her five-part story. Though I'm not going to lie, writing it out makes me a little bummed. Quote
Sandy Posted September 4, 2012 Author Posted September 4, 2012 I totally just changed my character's rank to be able to use Red vs Blue quotes. Read more in the hall! But is your character still called Jon Mcency, though? Because that's what your profile should say... Quote
Pyrovisionary Posted September 4, 2012 Posted September 4, 2012 But is your character still called Jon Mcency, though? Because that's what your profile should say... Yeah, same name, different rank. Quote
Scorpiox Posted September 4, 2012 Posted September 4, 2012 If Arthur tries to eat this one, Haldor will have to kill him. Quote

Scorpiox Posted September 4, 2012 Posted September 4, 2012 Flipz, were both your roleplay sessions visions that everyone can see? I didn't reply to the first one, because I mistook it for just Arthur remembering his past. Quote
Zepher Posted September 4, 2012 Posted September 4, 2012 I believe the second is a vision that everyone can see. And I'll reveal the curved Blade's stats in a few minutes, it serves a purpose, pinky promise. Quote
Pyrovisionary Posted September 4, 2012 Posted September 4, 2012 C'mon #47! I wants my quest. I can't wait! Quote

Pyrovisionary Posted September 4, 2012 Posted September 4, 2012 (edited) Please stop spamming this thread. Didn't think of it as spam when I wrote it but I'm an idiot so.... Sorry. I guess I can't perceive how annoying I must be. Sorry everybody. Thanks. Edited September 4, 2012 by Skyrimguy Quote
Zepher Posted September 4, 2012 Posted September 4, 2012 This might have been the best set of dice I've rolled for a round of battle. Do you know how terrifying it is to read that as a fellow (evil)QM? And skyrimguy, we don't mind commentary on the game... but that post quoted was not commentary on the game. Just try to stick to discussing the Heroica RPG world and characters and themes, and you'll always be fine! Quote
Masked Builder Posted September 4, 2012 Posted September 4, 2012 Flipz, Arthur look strangely happy in that vision. Quote
Scorpiox Posted September 4, 2012 Posted September 4, 2012 Flipz, Arthur look strangely happy in that vision. Arthur is one of those people, you know, with faces that mask all of their emotions. Quote

Scorpiox Posted September 4, 2012 Posted September 4, 2012 "Aye, the shades of Grey, old one. I know of these. I could have done with your like in Haddon. There I was accused of evil for interpreting the shades instead of caroling praise to the white and good light." Haldor was scared and distracted back then. Quote
CMP Posted September 4, 2012 Posted September 4, 2012 These new and overconfident heroes seem to think that they need to make themselves appear... 'badass', as Atramor would put it. They could accompany me, hiding behind my great shield, while I would lead them against enemies against which I would be nigh invincible... Hypocrite... Quote
Brickdoctor Posted September 4, 2012 Posted September 4, 2012 Hypocrite... Docken is annoyed that the new heroes think they're so intimidating and powerful. He's not being hypocritical in thinking that he could be invincible if he lead them to the Fields of Glory, because he probably really would be (unless, of course, Sandy decided to Knock Out all the Level Ones for the sake of what was described as "putting Docken through hell"), and he never tries to make himself appear more powerful than he is.Oh, look at me, I'm roleplaying. Scorpiox Posted September 4, 2012 Posted September 4, 2012 Johon whispers to Sylph. "Quick, call on the tree right there, cause it to bend over and help them get up." Tree whispering!? I can think of so many other ways that they could help, but obviously tree whispering is the best choice. Quote
Flipz Posted September 4, 2012 Posted September 4, 2012 Flipz, were both your roleplay sessions visions that everyone can see? I didn't reply to the first one, because I mistook it for just Arthur remembering his past. Both are visible, yes. The first bit was a story that Arthur told Sasha, but the rest of the party overheard it. In the second one, the first part is a direct, visual vision, while in the second part you can see both Arthur and Caroline, but no more; they're figures in a murky black mist. (Yes, it's an excuse for still not having pictures. ) And yes, both of those moments are directly connected in time. I really meant to add a few more lines referencing that to the beginning of the Q31 rehash ( ), but I just ran out of time. I needed to get it out, and yet the Financial Aid office was about to close, so I just stitched them loosely together and submitted. I'll pay for that later, I'll have to do a Caroline-Vaygas scene at some point just to explain some of the minor plot holes, but that works for the best anyways, as it gives me a chance to foreshadow a couple of things BEFORE they explode directly into the Hall. So, quick recap of what we know so far: Arthur, Caroline, and Vaygas once stumbled upon a Temple of Zoot when they were young, accidentally releasing Bio Beasts (basically biomechanical Chaos Beasts infused with the mysterious substance that emerged from De'kra in the Training Room when he assumed his true form) into the Zut'Tau'Ri homeland. There's more story attached to that, but it's not directly related to Arthur, and so will likely end up as a background story in the Library. Terrified, the trio destroyed their Chaotic artifacts, somehow stopping the menace. The three swore to shun Chaos, taking up the oath Arthur quoted to Caroline in the Q31 rehash. Years later, after Arthur's father went missing and Arthur and Caroline started dating, Caroline secretly began practicing the chaotic arts once again, this time deliberately summoning a Bio Beast (the only sort of Chaos Beast she knew of) to do her bidding. For as-yet unknown reasons, she sent the Bio Beast to attack the Zut'tau'ri Town Guards, killing Vaygas Spar'kelle's father and leaving Vaygas the Captain of the Zut'tau'ri Guard. That day, as Arthur gets home from work and Vaygas, too, arrives unexpectedly, Caroline unexpectedly brings up the joke that led to the discovery of the Temple, shortly before Arthur's mother arrives with the news of Vaygas' father's death. Between this odd reference and his mother's mention of the Bio Beast, Arthur realizes that Caroline has been dabbling in Chaos, and confronts her. When Caroline refuses to give up her ways, Arthur goes to tell the Elders, but Caroline gets there first and reveals Arthur's own magical talent, getting him exiled. Two years later, Arthur arrives at Heroica Hall. Oh, and not that it particularly matters, but all this happened the day before Arthur's birthday. >_< Quote
