Bluehood's was easily one of the most tempting one so far. Had I been in Quest 28, I probably would've considered it. :look: Right now, though, Quest 33 holds that title of best bribe in Heroica right now.

I've got to agree there, but the Party didn't even keep the bribe. :sceptic:

They were such awesome items too. :sadnew: Maybe we'll get to see them again sometime, Violetta said herself they were only trying to mess with the houses.

Quest 44 is about to turn into a slaughter. :oh3:

Mob of unarmed, mostly untrained and all likely malnourished folk? Talk about a Slayer's wet dream.

For reference, on the map, each time you cross a "line" of the hexagon of the map, it indicates that night-time will fall, therefore for example it would take two days to reach Demon Frog Valley. Its possible to NOT follow the designated path but it will take more time per hexagon plus a higher chance of getting attacked, because it is just "wild" territory.

Haha, all of us QMs have a totally different conception of how large Uland actually is.

In Quest #43, it takes one day for Lyren and Nuitan to travel from Eubric all the way to the Suicide Cliffs. That's at least three times as long a journey than it is from Shelbric to Mount Ulysses.

But it's alright, we can always pretend that the party in Quest #42 are just really slow.

They're slow because they have to stop every ten minutes for Pretzel to preach at the rest of the party.

And they used part of the road to Brobric, a road that took three days to travel the length of in Quest 4. (though it could be argued that since the Brobric Elves aren't as secluded now, they've somewhat straightened out, widened, and cleaned up the road to make it easier to travel on)

Indeed; the hex map is the perfect way to clarify the Nights mechanic of the fully-explorable map. Something I've wished I would have done way back during Q4.

Hexes are good. ...Only squares are better.

nobody dared to harass "Messi".

Spelling mistake fixed.

Can't wait to see this. Please let the bribe be open to anyone on the quest, and please let Monk Pretzel be on the quest with Cronk when it happens.:moar:

:hmpf_bad: What goody-goodies! :hmpf:

I can see it now. Hybros and Guts rush back to the training room and return with "slaughter" written all over their faces...scary! :look:

And I thought the genie was the slow one. :look::grin:

I think Pretzel is seeing if he will need to train to become a druid or if he will just develop roots on his own.

Also, is it just me or are those artifacts in Quest #47 dirt cheap. :sceptic:

Noo...?? Some of the armor in the market places, is in a range of 30-200. These are simply add to your SP and health. And a bit of extra ether. (that no one on my quest will buy.) It's nothing special.

Oh my god, I've found my true love. And it's called Quest 44. How beautiful. How incredible. What a well shot and narrated scene. Gets the heart pumping. I've never been more excited for the fate of Eubric.

Wow, seriously? I've felt that about all of Quest 38!

+4 power and +1 SP for 90g? Sign me up! Taking a WP:0 weapon and making it WP:4, that alone costs 100g (10+20+30+40), and I don't think there's too many cases of people upgrading from a WP:0 weapon. Granted, it takes up an artifact slot, but at a point in time when lots of people still don't have two artifacts, that's a literal steal. It could easily be resold when you no longer need it, recouping probably half or more of the original cost. A player fresh off their first quest, assuming they didn't get a stronger weapon along the way, would have to spend 220g(40+50+60+70) to match that bonus, so I'm sure any of them would jump at the chance to get +4 power at less than half the cost of upgrading their weapon.

I don't mean to say change it, but if I were on the quest... yoink! Heck, I'd buy it just to resell it.

Now that you bring in numbers... I see all your points. I think I should change it.

170 gold

160 gold

100 gold

Does this sound fair?

I guess I didn't want anything to be too high priced, as none of the heroes would be able to buy it. :shrug_confused:

Well, unless you expect your questies to have enough gold at some point to purchase them, then I'd probably tone down the effects to meet the price rather than scale the price up. I think the hp/ether and sp/ether armors are pretty reasonably priced. Make the Croise armor +2 power/+1 sp and I think it'd be fine between 90-110g, based on some of the artifacts in the Marketplace.

Nerwen lifts De'kra, standing his slight frame on her shoulders so that he can get a good look at the combatants using his cloak of the elven spy.

It's hardly any worse than a magic compass in terms of plot-breakyness.

But I am aware that what I wrote borders on impolite RP, dictating the actions of another, using one of their artifacts no less.

Possibly Sandy will simply begin combat and we'll all be flat-footed and have to scramble into some sort of defensive line...

Before you get too hard on yourself, recall that De'kra did ask Nerwen for direction, and that he usually uses that cloak of his whenever someone asks him to.

I have to disagree with the magic compass comparisonl; a QM can do anything they want to with a magic compass, it is, after all, just a vague indication of the right way to go, and sometimes *cough*Zepher*cough* "right" has nothing to do with direction.

Enemy stats, on the other hand, aren't exactly easy for QMs to wiggle out of.

Seeing the stats of the weak peasant who has a pouch full of Gold, you engage in battle.

Prepare for battle!

Suddenly, a totally unrelated apple drops from a tree above. The peasant picks it up and takes a bite. He finds out that it is an Apple of Cosmic Power, and his Level, Health, and SP are all quadrupled in a totally unrelated and random twist of fate just as you raise your sword over his head. The peasant, seeing your coming attack, trips over a totally unrelated rock, causing him to fall to the side so that your blow misses completely. He scrambles to his feet and whips out his knife...
