Flipz Posted September 9, 2012 Posted September 9, 2012 Same here, but for some reason I still have a bad feeling about this. Given the sodium content of sea water, we could just have Nyx tip them over with her aquamarine and then electrocute them all with her topaz. [MichaelCaine]Some Paladins aren't looking for anything logical, like an easy fight. They can't be bought, Intimidated, reasoned or negotiated with. Some Paladins just want to watch the world burn.[/MichaelCaine] Quote
Quarryman Posted September 10, 2012 Posted September 10, 2012 QM Note: Quarryman, the summons act on the round after they have been summoned. They need to be mentioned in the battle order, after all. Moved it here since I think it shouldn't be discussed in the quest. It seems this is one more of the rules where the QMs aren't doing it right then. Because in Quest #18 (where summoning was first used), and in Quest #27 the summoned spirit did damage on the turn they were summoned, (haven't gotten around to checking more quests) while in Quest #33 and the Unlimited Quest the spirits did not do damage. Oops. I've been doing it wrong. I've been having Player summons attack immediately and Enemy summons attack the next round. Quote
The_Customizer Posted September 10, 2012 Posted September 10, 2012 Erdy is lucky and finds... a piece of dirt! Incredible discovery! Little did she know it, but this little piece of dirt was destined to change the fate of the entire universe... don't ask how So, umm, what exactly will I be doing with this? Quote
Tanma Posted September 10, 2012 Posted September 10, 2012 So, umm, what exactly will I be doing with this? You will use it at the right time, with the right words, but for the wrong reasons. Quote

TheBoyWonder Posted September 10, 2012 Posted September 10, 2012 Google Translate is brilliant. Quote
Khorne Posted September 10, 2012 Posted September 10, 2012 (edited) Yeah, you should totally have your character speak Swedish, because that'll help with Norsemen; who come from Norway. Unfortunately there are no Danes or Swedes Vikings in Heroica, Siercon would work a treat. Actually, he's right, I am using Swedish* for the vikings . I don't really care, though. It's a fantasy world, it doesn't have to be correct. I just want to give the players a foreign vibe from these guys, it doesn't really matter that much in my eyes what language they're speaking, as long as it looks vaguely Nordic, it's fine by me . Google Translate is brilliant. Don't feel obliged to use it, though. As I've said in the quest, the important bits will be in plain English. The Swedish/whatever is just there for fun and credibility. Also I used Swedish, not Norwegian, so I think Lycan kind of got a mistranslation. The full sentence would've read "Är jag den enda som bryr sig om reglerna", which translates to "Am I the only one who cares about the rules?". But the heroes only heard the last part of that sentence . * I use Google translate Swedish, so want to apologize to all native speakers for any mistakes. They're Google's mistakes, I don't actively speak Swedish . EDIT: Erdathcath Madilinas, Level 17 Druid Inventory: The Piece of Dirt That Changed The Universe Awesome! Scubacarrot Posted September 10, 2012 Posted September 10, 2012 Zepher, quick question: Do the Dancing Shoes effect stack with Hastened? I'm wondering, since it would actually make the item slightly useful for me, and the description only says 2 times? Quote
The_Customizer Posted September 10, 2012 Posted September 10, 2012 Awesome! I know right! Now someone will have to make a quest about how the Dirt changed the universe. Quote
Palathadric Posted September 10, 2012 Posted September 10, 2012 "Help!" I love this face. The poor guy really looks helpless. Not exactly how I'd picture a Norseman, but still great. In other news, I see the revenge on Sorrow has begun! Quote
Endgame Posted September 10, 2012 Posted September 10, 2012 I love this face. The poor guy really looks helpless. Not exactly how I'd picture a Norseman, but still great. In other news, I see the revenge on Sorrow has begun! Syntax is completely and thoroughly pissed. Capn, can the elite croise respond to that? Quote
Zepher Posted September 11, 2012 Posted September 11, 2012 (edited) Zepher, quick question: Do the Dancing Shoes effect stack with Hastened? I'm wondering, since it would actually make the item slightly useful for me, and the description only says 2 times? Sandy had me change the wording from hastened to act twice to avoid confusion because hastened is a permanent effect. I'd say YES it does stack, but, as always, Sandy gets the final call. Also, future warning to my Quest 40ers. Mondays are my shit day. Start classes at 11, end at 11, with only a few breaks in-between. If it makes you feel any better, I don't get to eat dinner until after that block. So... for future reference, Monday probably aren't happening for me from now on. Even so, I think this quest will be over... in about a week and a half, maybe nearly two weeks, so you'll only have to deal with this once more. I'll update about mid-day tomorrow, thanks for your patience. Edited September 11, 2012 by Zepher Quote
posades Posted September 11, 2012 Posted September 11, 2012 Saw that coming, though that was a bit of bad luck for Althior not to heal me twice in a row and the phoenix's special being triggered in the same round. Quote

Scubacarrot Posted September 11, 2012 Posted September 11, 2012 I'd say it does stack, too, since "dancing" is a different effect that "hastened". Alright, thanks for the clarification. Although you didn't do it that time in the last battle. Quote
Sandy Posted September 11, 2012 Author Posted September 11, 2012 Alright, thanks for the clarification. Although you didn't do it that time in the last battle. Sorry, I forgot to take it into a count. Please remind me the next time it happens. Quote
Endgame Posted September 11, 2012 Posted September 11, 2012 I it possible for 46 to not fail at this point? Quote

Flare Posted September 11, 2012 Posted September 11, 2012 I know right! Now someone will have to make a quest about how the Dirt changed the universe. Don't worry, that will be included in Quest #42 Or its sequel... if #42 has a sequel Quote
The_Customizer Posted September 11, 2012 Posted September 11, 2012 Don't worry, that will be included in Quest #42 Or its sequel... if #42 has a sequel I feel so important now that I have this dirt. I think you are having WAY too much fun completely destroying the use of our tools. Quote

LOL its funny how things that I think of randomly on the moment become so important to you silly quest members  Yes I am. Really... maybe you should go to sleep and then try using them in the morning!!? Seriously Quote
Sandy Posted September 11, 2012 Author Posted September 11, 2012 Except Endgame said we can't use Smoke Bombs in these battles. Why the hell not? EEENDDDGAAAMEEE???!!! (Sorry, I had to. ) Seriously, though, the Smoke Bomb was created for this very reason, so if players cannot resort to it when in dire need, then what are their options? A QM has to make challenging battles, but he also needs to be fair. Quote
