Brickdoctor Posted September 15, 2012 Posted September 15, 2012 I meant that I'm pretty sure you can only imbue artifacts with scrolls that deal negative effects. (Though I might be wrong). Even if so, wouldn't you only be protected from your SP being reduced by 5? What if it was a special that reduced it by 6? It is a negative effect - an effect that decreases SP. Not sure about the amount, though. Sandy?Oh well, if this doesn't work out, I can always resell the scroll to Flipz. Quote
Jebediahs Posted September 15, 2012 Posted September 15, 2012 Jeb, how long do you estimate is left until Quest 35 is done? (if you're okay with revealing that) I'm trying to decide if I should continue trying to get into the Unlimited Quest or just wait a little longer for swils to get back. I don't know. Still waiting for swils' or PL's or 2nd PL's choice of Thorm's action. You'll probably be exiting the Unlimited Quest to pursue a new quest before quest 35 is done. Quote

swils Posted September 15, 2012 Posted September 15, 2012 (edited) Alas, the best laid plans of mice and men... I am determined to win this fight, Jeb. You sha'nt deny me my victory! Edit: Also, my apologies to the rest of the Q35 crew. I feel like I've turned this into swils vs Archivist rather than Party vs Archivist, and feel even worse about it now that I realize my plan was based on a misunderstanding. I miss Arasmyth's back and forth with the Archivist! Edited September 15, 2012 by swils Quote
posades Posted September 15, 2012 Posted September 15, 2012 Sandy, do you think we could go ahead and start the unlimited quest? Our party is formed and there doesn't seem to be anymore sign-ups. Quote

Scurries off to adjust the actions. Forgot about the big hit. Ranger won't be throwing any bombs this turn, heh. Edited September 16, 2012 by swils Quote
Zepher Posted September 16, 2012 Posted September 16, 2012 Don't give up swils! We're all rooting for you! This is probably one of the only battles of a quest I haven't been on/hosted that I've waited anxiously for every round for. As always, props to Jebs! Quote

CorneliusMurdock Posted September 16, 2012 Posted September 16, 2012 Yay! Cronk gets the ewok! Can I keep him? Quote
Zepher Posted September 16, 2012 Posted September 16, 2012 I promise, one day I will create an NPC that Cronk will be allowed to keep. All the NPCs in the Wren Quests have a story to fulfill though. Sorry Cronk. I really will try to get Barkley to him at some point. I just need to set it up properly. I think as my teaser for the final Wren Quest, I will release which characters are going to return for it. As soon as this quest is over. As a quick teaser to the teaser... the final Wren quest will feature 16 returning NPCs (and four new ones). Quote
Flipz Posted September 16, 2012 Posted September 16, 2012 As a quick teaser to the teaser... the final Wren quest will feature 16 returning NPCs (and four new ones). Party NPCs??? Of course, the real reason I'm looking forward to it is seeing where the finale takes Arthur. I have a few ideas, but I doubt they'll come into play. At all. Does the chin stroking motion which looks ridiculous as he's wearing a mask/helmet thing. "It seems you are running out of options my dear shaman. I'll offer you this, 600 gold in exchange for the greenskins and that mutt in your party. I'll let you, Aero-smyth, and Elgar go without further incident. I will have a guard escort you out the main gate. I'll even return your friends (mostly) unharmed within the hour. What do you say?" Relevant comic. Doc, I'm honestly shocked you didn't come up with this already. Quote
CMP Posted September 16, 2012 Posted September 16, 2012 (edited) Ricky Riding the Archer *lucky (causes jinxed effect to whoever targets him)* Level 28 Humanoid Health: 801/801 Special: Absolutely Stunning - The target loses 7 health and is stunned. Drops: Satchel of Awesomeness (permanent lucky effect), 42 gold Note: Ricky Riding fights from the back row, so all non-ranged attacks will do half damage to him, while his attacks do full damage to heroes in back row. Oh jeez. Edited September 16, 2012 by CallMePie Quote

CMP Posted September 16, 2012 Posted September 16, 2012 A QM's worst nightmare. Well, if Erdathcath manages to get her hands on it, then she needs to be on the Fields of Glory team. Permanently Lucky Druid...if there's any true way to cheat death in Heroica, that's it. Quote
Sandy Posted September 16, 2012 Author Posted September 16, 2012 It is a negative effect - an effect that decreases SP. Not sure about the amount, though. Sandy? To my understanding, armor sundering is not an effect, it's simply a decrease of SP. But to make it fair, I'd say that merging the scroll into an artefact gives the hero immunity against SP decreases (I'm going to regret saying this, though). Sandy, do you think we could go ahead and start the unlimited quest? Our party is formed and there doesn't seem to be anymore sign-ups. The sign-ups end today, so I'll send you on your way now. Quote

Zepher Posted September 16, 2012 Posted September 16, 2012 Question: do we think there will ever be a way to wear/use additional artifacts? Aka, Sandy, will there ever be a way to fanagle that rule, or are we all permanently stuck with just two artifacts? I think hopping up to three at some point in the leveling up process would be nice, especially as the artifacts keep multiplying (and I keep wanting more and more ). Quote

At some point in your life you will have to learn you can't have everything you would want. Quote

I think someone (John Paul?) dropped an artifact that gave you an extra artifact slot. (or gave you two, but it took up one; final effect being that you had three slots) I remember there was discussion of whether it would be allowed to remain in the game; I don't remember what happened to it.
