Kadabra Posted September 19, 2012 Posted September 19, 2012 On the topic of how I want Arasmyth to die: He already has. I think Flipz was the only one who remembered, but I have said that I'm "Nuzlocking" (for lack of a better term) Heroica, if my character is KO'ed, they die. Look forward to seeing my new character in the hall once the Quest is over. Quote
Zepher Posted September 19, 2012 Posted September 19, 2012 I remember that too. I was hoping you'd forget. It's a ballsy move, I'll give you that, and very cool, but I don't think I'd be able to do it personally. You might want to wait until the quest is over to appease your QM, though. Quote

I'm thinking he dies of internal bleeding or something after he returns to Eubric, any suggestions? Quote
K-Nut Posted September 19, 2012 Posted September 19, 2012 Yup, obviously. I'm thinking he dies of internal bleeding or something after he returns to Eubric, any suggestions? He doesn't die since he' so awesome! Quote
Zepher Posted September 19, 2012 Posted September 19, 2012 Boo internal bleeding. We live in a magical world. Make him suffer through a curse that he finally succumbs to upon either succeeding or failing the quest. His power slowly drains, but he works hard to make his final act be worth it. Quote
Brickdoctor Posted September 19, 2012 Posted September 19, 2012 Aww... I liked Arasmyth. I'll never forget the time he drank that pink thing and ran the Hwacha. Quote
CMP Posted September 19, 2012 Posted September 19, 2012 Aww... I liked Arasmyth. I'll never forget the time he drank that pink thing and ran the Hwacha. Oh yeah. That was awesome. I'm gonna miss Arasmyth, he was a really interesting character. I loved how he'd only use 3 elements, but that idea - killing off your character whenever they're KO'd - is really intriguing, I'm curious to see how your next character turns out, Kadabra. Quote
Brickdoctor Posted September 19, 2012 Posted September 19, 2012 Are you going to sell your unique items before killing your char off, Kadabra, just so they don't die with you? Quote
swils Posted September 19, 2012 Posted September 19, 2012 Yup, obviously. I'm thinking he dies of internal bleeding or something after he returns to Eubric, any suggestions? We could always just leave him on Q35, perhaps give him a burial once we're done with the city? Quote
Kadabra Posted September 19, 2012 Posted September 19, 2012 We could always just leave him on Q35, perhaps give him a burial once we're done with the city? Actually that might work, seeing as this is the final battle of the quest. Question for Sandy: Would it be OK to give away my items in like a "will" before I die, or would the other players have to pay Gold as in a sale and they weren't just getting freebies? Quote

Question for Sandy: Would it be OK to give away my items in like a "will" before I die, or would the other players have to pay Gold as in a sale and they weren't just getting freebies? I think it's been ruled that an ex-PC can't be looted or give away items, but I think you'd be able to sell them. ...not that that would be reasonable or helpful for Arasmyth. Quote
Kadabra Posted September 19, 2012 Posted September 19, 2012 Well if somebody wants something they can take it and leave an offering of Gold on his grave for the afterlife. Quote
Brickdoctor Posted September 19, 2012 Posted September 19, 2012 If you as a PC give them to another player (before your death, obviously), that's legal, but not encouraged. It'd probably be best if you sell them before you die, if you don't want to die with them. Lens of Speed Reading (accessory) - Allows a scroll to be read in addition to a normal action (e.g. Scroll+Consumable, Scroll+Scroll, Scroll+Attack/Heal/Spell) . Suitable for scroll using classes. So, how much do you think Flipz will give up to get his hands on this? Quote
Darkdragon Posted September 19, 2012 Posted September 19, 2012 So, how much do you think Flipz will give up to get his hands on this? Everything...including his hands. Quote

So, how much do you think Flipz will give up to get his hands on this? >_< I'm already 200 in the hole for Q35, and then you bring me this? I think I'll do some sort of deal, "my next two SHIELD rolls go to you" or something of the sort. Quote
CMP Posted September 19, 2012 Posted September 19, 2012 Zeph, Summons don't get rolls. They just deal damage equal to their power. Quote
Zepher Posted September 19, 2012 Posted September 19, 2012 Then they got a freebie dodge of a damage. Quote
Flipz Posted September 19, 2012 Posted September 19, 2012 Then they got a freebie dodge of a damage. That and Roderick should have been defeated by that attack (x2 because of Darkness vs. Holy, x2 again due to Fragile.) Unfortunately, that means that Bal gets no Gold (sorry, buddy!), but on the plus side, no one after Skopios took damage, so you don't have to recalculate anything. (Aside from restoring everyone's health and possibly the effects, since according to the narration Roderick was wearing the Amulet.) Quote
Brickdoctor Posted September 19, 2012 Posted September 19, 2012 Arasmyth coughs and hacks. "Whoo, boy. They got me good... Ad Hoh, take the Lens and the potion , thorm can have the *wheeze* Phoenix Essence and a *cough* Re,edy, Kn-*wheeze*ifk can have a *cough* Remedy, and so can *hack* Elgar. 100 gold to each *cough, hack* of you, and *cough, wheeze* an extra 10 to Thormanil." Blood trickles out of the corner of Arasmyth's mouth as he removes his mask, setting it on the ground. He holds his Sapphire up, whispering, "Heh.., I've had a good run. Namaarie, vanya sulie, ar' aa' lasser en lle coia orn n' omenta gurtha. Tenna' enta lye omenta, ta nae omin saesa. (Farewell, fair winds, and may the wind fill your sails. Until we next meet, it has been my pleasure.) "As the light dies from his eyes, the royal blue gemstone drops to the earth, embedding itself partially in the ground. An ethereal wind fills the rioom, causing the half filled bottles of liquid the Archivist had to hum a haunting refrain. Finally the last traces of breath exit the two century year old elf's body, and he lays motionless on the floor. Heroica's first death of a PC, roleplayed by the player... OOC: Thromanil and the rest shall bury Arasmyth somewhere in Eubric so if you wish to have one of his unique items, leave an offering of Gold to his spirit at the ce,every and you may take it. Look forward to the debut of Thulma, female dwarf rogue, in the Hall sometime soon. Someone please save my elven robe. Also, female dwarf - you're certainly going to be filling a gap in Heroica's ranks with that. Quote

swils Posted September 19, 2012 Posted September 19, 2012 I think Jeb gets the award for the truly deadliest quest to date If Ad-hoh does end up selling the lens to Arthur, I hope he remembers who suffered through an extra several rounds of abuse to get the lens in the first place! Quote

Yes, Jebs gets a Killer QM award, too, but his needs a bit more oomph. And by oomph, I mean a trophy built with real brick, with Arasmyth's lifeless body draped across it. On a more serious note, that'll take some time to do, so forgive me if it takes a few months to get around to. Hey, Thormy is just as much a min-maxer as Arthur, they'll get along great. Quote
Jedi master Brick Posted September 19, 2012 Posted September 19, 2012 (edited) It seems a shame for Arasmyth to die. He was such a fun character to watch and to roleplay with. Edited September 19, 2012 by Jedi master Brick Quote
