Brickdoctor Posted September 21, 2012 Posted September 21, 2012 Brickdoctor, I don't get why Xander should target the crow with least health when he can take the one with most health out in one hit. Because I was a little busy and didn't do the math. I edited my post in the quest to include the new plan of attack. Quote
Flare Posted September 21, 2012 Posted September 21, 2012 Just saying, death isn't an insepurpassable obstacle in a fantasy setting, and being my first char Arasmyth is one I have plans for. His facial hair, while physically decomposing shall metaphysically grace the world still, at some point. Wait I think I actually understood what you were saying... female dwarf is your next character? And now this about facial hair... Quote
Peppermint_M Posted September 21, 2012 Posted September 21, 2012 I don't get most of the consumables, Smelling Salts and Mead are the ones I like to use, the others are modifiers that I do not really believe to use. I suppose it's down to my style of play; make a tank, hit 'em hard! Now an artifact that prevents negative effects... Quote
CMP Posted September 21, 2012 Posted September 21, 2012 Nostrum keeps you hitting rather than being hit. But it's probably not good for Berserkers, you could your Shield multiple times in a single battle. Quote

Sandy Posted September 21, 2012 Author Posted September 21, 2012 Wait I think I actually understood what you were saying... female dwarf is your next character? And now this about facial hair... I would actually prefer if female dwarves also sported beards. This hasn't come up before because of the lack of female dwarves (except the one who was half-orc as well), but it would be cool to see in my opinion. I'm actually planning a quest related to dwarves, but it's far down my list of planned quests (there's about ten of them currently). With LEGO parts, you can easily put a female face under a beard-piece, after all. EDIT: Also, Sandy, don't believe I've complimented you on the Oracle Design! Very nice. Thanks! I just love the Amidala-headpiece. I had to incorporate it into this game somehow. Quote

Masked Builder Posted September 21, 2012 Posted September 21, 2012 Yeah Sandy, you did an excellent job with those combos. Well Gimli talks of the Dwarven women having beards, so yeah. Quote
Flare Posted September 21, 2012 Posted September 21, 2012 Well Gimli talks of the Dwarven women having beards, so yeah. Heroica and Lord of the Rings occur in different worlds, so the female dwarves don't necessarily have to be the same in both places Quote
Etzel Posted September 21, 2012 Posted September 21, 2012 Regarding beards, there is also the option of shaving. Quote
Waterbrick Down Posted September 21, 2012 Posted September 21, 2012 Regarding beards, there is also the option of shaving. Exactly what I was starting to think about, culturally speaking unmarried Dwarven women would shave their beards as a symbol of their singleness and availability. Married Dwarven women allow their beards to grow out as a symbol of their union they share with their husband. Quote
Jedi master Brick Posted September 21, 2012 Posted September 21, 2012 Heroica and Lord of the Rings occur in different worlds, so the female dwarves don't necessarily have to be the same in both places Yeah but pretty much this whole genre takes some stuff for LOTR Quote
Waterbrick Down Posted September 21, 2012 Posted September 21, 2012 Yeah but pretty much this whole genre takes some stuff for LOTR Yes, but it doesn't mean we need to take everything. I think some of the best parts of Heroica have been when a QM, or PC. or even NPC has done something outside their normal fantasy stereotype. Quote
Scorpiox Posted September 21, 2012 Posted September 21, 2012 Yeah but pretty much this whole genre takes some stuff for LOTR True, most modern fantasy stuff is heavily based on LOTR, whether we like it or not. Even our perception of Elves is down to Tolkein, before his works they were mainly tiny flying pixie type creatures. His books are the foundation of nearly all of fantasy worlds, but that doesn't mean that we can't take some artistic liberties here and there. And hey, in LOTR we never actually see any female Dwarves, so who knows that Gimli isn't joking about their facial hair? Waterbrick Down's suggestion seems sound to me. Quote

Palathadric Posted September 21, 2012 Posted September 21, 2012 Will the party go up to face the troll, or down to help the boys out of the landslide?[/i] The party also has secret option 3 which allows them to sit back comfortably and watch the spectacle. "Stupid boys!" Quote
Zepher Posted September 22, 2012 Posted September 22, 2012 My questies have got to start thinking outside the box! There is a better way to go about this battle. Quote
CMP Posted September 22, 2012 Posted September 22, 2012 My questies have got to start thinking outside the box! There is a better way to go about this battle. Throw the Acerpusculum Cowl at him! Make Cronk angry! He won't like Cronk when he's angry! Um...make Tesni angry...er! Die a heroic death and have Arthur flee so he can spread the tale! Quote
CorneliusMurdock Posted September 22, 2012 Posted September 22, 2012 Cronk already angry. Stupid paladin armor. I should have just gotten the heavy armor. Screw roleplaying. Quote
Brickdoctor Posted September 22, 2012 Posted September 22, 2012 Stupid paladin armor. I should have just gotten the heavy armor. Screw roleplaying. No amount of emoticons and text can convey how much I agree with this. Quote
CorneliusMurdock Posted September 22, 2012 Posted September 22, 2012 My questies have got to start thinking outside the box! There is a better way to go about this battle. Outside the box? Only thing I can think of is only having Triad attack the shard. Cronk continues to take the free hit and heal himself hoping for the angel. Everyone else just throw bombs or heal Triad when needed. Rinse repeat and just wait. Boring to watch, though. I am so buying the counterstike gloves when I get back from this quest. Quote
CMP Posted September 22, 2012 Posted September 22, 2012 I am so buying the counterstike gloves when I get back from this quest. I cannot figure out for the life of me why Docken doesn't have those yet. He's made to absorb free hits, and yet... Quote
swils Posted September 22, 2012 Posted September 22, 2012 Maybe I'm missing something, but where is the free hit coming from on the Shard? Is it just because he's hastened? Quote
