Professor Flitwick Posted September 29, 2012 Posted September 29, 2012 The use of the tan Barriss and Luminara faces now has me wondering if the Shaman King uses the old Bib Fortuna face. If not, you just gave Sandy a great idea! Quote
Endgame Posted September 29, 2012 Posted September 29, 2012 If not, you just gave Sandy a great idea! You can thank me for the inevitable giant spider battle! Quote
Masked Builder Posted September 30, 2012 Posted September 30, 2012 Okay yeah, that Tesni does look good. To bad I have none of the parts. Here's Alexis' new look. Quote
Flipz Posted September 30, 2012 Posted September 30, 2012 Well, there goes four hours of digging through CMFs at the LEGO store. I really like that look, though, it really suits you. I also like that you do have different outfits for Alexis beyond just class changes, it keeps things interesting. Quote
Endgame Posted September 30, 2012 Posted September 30, 2012 Due to the fact everyone else is doing it, and the fact i'm now donning some Croise Armor... Sorrow 2, yaayy! With the sadistic nonexistent Syntax chuckling to my left. Quote
Capt.JohnPaul Posted September 30, 2012 Posted September 30, 2012 That's disturbing. No joke, I just have to project that onto my garage during Halloween, and I'll have the scariest house on the block. Quote

JimBee Posted September 30, 2012 Posted September 30, 2012 Cool new looks for both Alexis and Tesni. Thanks so much, Dharkan! JimB, since you made them, how exactly do the Twin Broadswords work? Is it like being hastened or does one roll determine if the attack strikes both enemies? It works like any other weapon with dual-strike. On rolls that hit enemies (in your case Hit and Critical Hit), you'll be able to strike the targeted enemy and the next one in order. If there's only one then I think you hit it twice. The only reason it doesn't let Knights use shields is because of it's high WP. Looking forward to seeing these in action. Quote
CMP Posted September 30, 2012 Posted September 30, 2012 I thought you got to choose both enemies you hit on dual strike weapons? Quote
JimBee Posted September 30, 2012 Posted September 30, 2012 I don't think so. Here's the first time we saw any dual strike weapon in action. Quote

No, the reason it doesn't let me use a shield is because I'm dual wielding like a boss! Thanks for answering. New question, you don't have to spend a turn to switch weapons but do you have to spend a turn to equip a shield or an artifact? Quote

New question, you don't have to spend a turn to switch weapons but do you have to spend a turn to equip a shield or an artifact? Well yeah, but other dual wield weapons, for instance the Twin Sai, would allow a (mystic) knight to carry "two" weapons and shield. I don't think any ruling was made on shields, but I think they should be able to be switched at will like weapons. Artifacts, on the other hand, take one turn to equip or remove. Quote
Sandy Posted September 30, 2012 Author Posted September 30, 2012 The use of the tan Barriss and Luminara faces now has me wondering if the Shaman King uses the old Bib Fortuna face. The Shaman King is actually just a Norseman viking. You'll probably meet him in a future quest, though. New question, you don't have to spend a turn to switch weapons but do you have to spend a turn to equip a shield or an artifact? You can switch "on-hand" items (weapons and shields) at will, but switching artefacts during the battle costs you a turn (you can switch several artefacts on the same turn, though). Yeah, this is another case of me just not thinking about it. What do you think, guys? Should a dual strike weapon negate the use of shields, or will we just let this one slip? Quote
Scorpiox Posted September 30, 2012 Posted September 30, 2012 What do you think, guys? Should a dual strike weapon negate the use of shields, or will we just let this one slip? I say make shields unusable with dual weapons, there is no sense in using both hands to strike different targets but still holding a shield. Quote
CMP Posted September 30, 2012 Posted September 30, 2012 What do you think, guys? Should a dual strike weapon negate the use of shields, or will we just let this one slip? I don't think it should be changed, the Twin Axe and Dual Staff are just single weapons, and they're still dual strike. The Twin Broadswords only have it specified because it's an especially strong weapon and the inability to use shields to balance it. Quote
Scorpiox Posted September 30, 2012 Posted September 30, 2012 Loving the new looks for Tesni and Alexis, and I adore how well that fairy torso fits Alexis so perfectly. I might have a new look for Haldor coming soon, see if he can't but himself a shirt after all this time. Quote

The shield should only be unusable if that is specified in the description of the weapon. Besides, a shield can always be strapped to an arm instead of held in the hand, allowing for the use of a second weapon. (albeit with a much limited range of movement and much increased weight and strain on the arm, which would explain why these presumably large broadswords cannot be used with a shield) Quote
Palathadric Posted September 30, 2012 Posted September 30, 2012 Certainly none taken on my end! Which iteration of Thorm were you thinking of? Edit: I rather like Tesni's new look. The only thing about the picture that sort of bothers me is how much light reflection there is, it makes her look like she's been laminated The fig itself though looks great! It's the second one. It must be the face that I don't like on the other two. It's true. That's probably what it is...just the lighting on Tesni. I don't see how Docken would be able to use a shield if he didn't have it strapped to his arm. Quote
Peppermint_M Posted September 30, 2012 Posted September 30, 2012 I need to take better pictures, that is todays project. Alas I have not the space for a decent photo set-up. That picture was the ninth of the night... Quote

Thanks Flipz, because certain people *cough*K-Nut*cough* have been saying I change it to much. Loving the new looks for Tesni and Alexis, and I adore how well that fairy torso fits Alexis so perfectly. Thanks! I wanted to get the sloped brick so it could be a dress, but I ran out of time for a Bricklink order. Quote
