Palathadric Posted October 20, 2012 Posted October 20, 2012 Guts takes off the Eye of the Beholder from his finger, and lays it at his feet. He hoped the dragon would accept this gift, Guts was pretty sure he could pawn it for a lot. No-o-o-o-o-o-o!!!!! Quote
Scubacarrot Posted October 20, 2012 Posted October 20, 2012 No-o-o-o-o-o-o!!!!! What? It's quite fitting though, isn't it? It was taken from another dragon's lair, so the circle is round and all that. Quote

This is a fantastic way to tell your character story through plot points designed by quest. Look at Guts, finding himself in a mirror situation. Look how much we've learned about his character, all based off of what he's experienced in the past. He uses an item to help tie together themes and emotions. That's straight up good RPing and good writing, based off what the QMs have served him, and still moving the quest forward. Genius. Edited October 20, 2012 by Zepher Quote

Zepher Posted October 20, 2012 Posted October 20, 2012 It got ramble-ish. Essentially, you are building a good character by showing how previous quests affect his actions in his current one. You are not slowing the quest down to do it either, but rather using your character choices to still move the quest forward. It's a compliment, promise. I just get to be a confusing writer if I'm also watching TV at the same time. Quote

Palathadric Posted October 20, 2012 Posted October 20, 2012 "HMM... DO YOU MEAN 'STINKY'? I DON'T KNOW HIS NAME, BUT FOR THE LAST FEW MONTHS OR SO, A SMALL BOY WHO REEKS HORRIBLY HAS SNEAKED THROUGH MY CAVE, PROBABLY THINKING I WOULDN'T NOTICE HIM. BUT HOW COULD I MISS SUCH A FOUL STENCH? HENCE I NAMED HIM STINKY. HE COMES OUT FROM ONE OF THE AIR DUCTS ON THE RIGHT SIDE WALL. THAT SAME AWFUL SMELL SEEPS FROM THAT VENT, AS WELL. I WOULD'VE SEALED THE AIR DUCT, BUT I FIND STINKY AMUSING. HE HASN'T COME OUT FOR A FEW WEEKS, THOUGH. I WAS ACTUALLY CONTEMPLATING ON SHUTTING DOWN THE VENT TODAY, BUT YOU MIGHT WANT TO SEARCH IT FIRST." Am I the only one that pictured Gollum when I read this? Quote
CorneliusMurdock Posted October 21, 2012 Posted October 21, 2012 So Sir Helmer isn't even going to help Cronk bury the remains? What a lazy jerk. Or is that Jorke? Downside: Cronk is walking to dinner carrying decaying remains. Upside: Free stakes! Finally something to replace the bloody pointy stick. I'll have to remember to store them somewhere before going on a Zepher quest. Quote
Flipz Posted October 21, 2012 Posted October 21, 2012 Dear Ennoc, Etzel! If I had a tenth of your building talent and collection, I'd be working for TLG already. Now I REALLY want to see you and Doc do a collaborative MOC. Quote
Brickdoctor Posted October 21, 2012 Posted October 21, 2012 Now I REALLY want to see you and Doc do a collaborative MOC. My sets aren't that good. Really, all you need to know is the 5:2 ratio and how to effectively use the half-plate offset of a headlight brick. Beyond that, it's just building a few basic sections of cheese, tiles, plates, and the occasional arch and using the ratio and the various SNOT 1x1 bricks to fit them all together. The photography and Photoshopping is what really brings the sets to life. And I agree, that is a really nice set, Etzel. I love the dark blue and white color scheme. Quote
CMP Posted October 21, 2012 Posted October 21, 2012 Is it a possibility we could ever see a dedicated Scheherazade quest? The book in Quest 44 is curious, and of course there's Sham Poo to learn more about. Or are they just going to remain one of those endless mysteries that's always there, but nobody ever finds out the full truth about? The photography and Photoshopping is what really brings the sets to life. I've tried out the Photoshop advice you gave in the QM Lounge. The difference is unbelievable. Quote
Sandy Posted October 21, 2012 Author Posted October 21, 2012 Jedi master Brick, it seems your character avatar has stopped showing. Can you fix that, please? Quote

Sandy Posted October 21, 2012 Author Posted October 21, 2012 The Training Room now has a page dedicated to one more Expert Class: The Harlot (created by Jebediahs)! Just keep your eyes out for a book called "Fifty Shades of Bley", and the class can be yours to play. Some of the other expert class related rule pages were edited with new pictures (namely the Infiltrator, the List of Battle Songs and the Undead Army). Quote
Masked Builder Posted October 21, 2012 Posted October 21, 2012 The completed class looks good. Now to figure out where to get that book... Quote
Endgame Posted October 21, 2012 Posted October 21, 2012 Out of curiosity, Capt, how is the NPC battles decided? Dice roll, or have you rigged a specific opponent you'd like me to face? I have a feeling I'll be toe to toe with Metaltooth in the semifinals... Quote
Endgame Posted October 21, 2012 Posted October 21, 2012 Huzzah! Gear up, 48ers. This quest is going to be a bit lengthy, as you'll see soon. Glad to finally get the finale to the Progg story started. Quote
Bricksandparts Posted October 21, 2012 Posted October 21, 2012 I don't know why Jeb thinks he can steal my scroll, but I am taking charge and directly selling my scroll to Arthur. I don't want this to happen again where I am unable to make a trade because I am on a quest. Huzzah! Gear up, 48ers. This quest is going to be a bit lengthy, as you'll see soon. Endgame Posted October 21, 2012 Posted October 21, 2012 (edited) There will be a summary, yes. Read the last 4 or 5 pages or so of 36 to get acquainted with where we left off - and specifically, one of the main antagonists you'll be seeing again Edited October 21, 2012 by Endgame Quote

Sandy Posted October 21, 2012 Author Posted October 21, 2012 It's not stealing when you never asked for them back right after the quest. This seems to be just a misunderstanding. Jebediahs, please remove the scrolls from your inventory. They are not yours to keep, since B&P specifically said he would lend you them for the duration of the quest. Case closed! Quote
Endgame Posted October 21, 2012 Posted October 21, 2012 (edited) Here we go, everybody! Q48 is a-go-go. Edited October 21, 2012 by Endgame Quote
Palathadric Posted October 21, 2012 Posted October 21, 2012 Pausing his hammering, Anwyl Smokebeard left his forge and walked to the open wall of his store. He gazed at the bustling Marketplace. Still no sign of her... But she should return soon. Any day now, the familiar sound of wagons rolling in without a horse would catch his ear. Letting out a deep sigh, the blacksmith returned to his work. I was just going to ask when we'd see the ol' witch again. And that harlot class looks like the class to be. Endgame, Lycan should have full health. Quote
CMP Posted October 21, 2012 Posted October 21, 2012 I don't like the look of Necromancer anymore. Quote
