Endgame Posted October 24, 2012 Posted October 24, 2012 Dharkan was last online today. After I finish running these rounds, I'll shoot him a PM. Also, no need to worry yet. This quest is gonna be a bit of a biggy. Quote
Dannylonglegs Posted October 24, 2012 Posted October 24, 2012 In what ways? I am also scared about the boss battle, and I too hope to get my hands on some stuff that may help us defeat it. Pretty much all the ways. ~Insectoid Aristocrat Quote
Brickdoctor Posted October 24, 2012 Posted October 24, 2012 Okay, on no account must Docken ever get hold of the Pheles Rod. Wardens can't use staves. Awww.Thought it would make my Shield kind of useless, so... Is Mephisto our biggest (size-wise) enemy yet? I may have to increase the Boss of 48s size to contend with the archdemon. I don't think we ever found out how big the chimera actually was; it was always hidden in fog. Quote
Endgame Posted October 24, 2012 Posted October 24, 2012 (edited) I am also scared about the boss battle, and I too hope to get my hands on some stuff that may help us defeat it. Pretty much all the ways. ~Insectoid Aristocrat You have atleast 7 more battles before you square off against him. Atleast. Edited October 24, 2012 by Endgame Quote
Bricksandparts Posted October 24, 2012 Posted October 24, 2012 Only 7, I'm actually surprised. Let's see, there are the 4 creepy slendermen, the 2 other kings and probably a bunch of smaller fights. Quote
Endgame Posted October 24, 2012 Posted October 24, 2012 3 princes, technically. I'm not spoiling the rest of the battles though. Quote
Bricksandparts Posted October 24, 2012 Posted October 24, 2012 How am I getting the feeling this is going to end Phantom Menace style? Quote
Endgame Posted October 24, 2012 Posted October 24, 2012 I've never watched any star wars movies, so elaborate. Quote
Rumble Strike Posted October 24, 2012 Posted October 24, 2012 That's going to be one humdinger of a final battle in Quest#44, Sandy. Lovely build for the arch demon. Quote
Bricksandparts Posted October 24, 2012 Posted October 24, 2012 I've never watched any star wars movies, so elaborate. In the movie a group of the republic were fighting the separatists but were close to losing the battle, Anakin, piloting a star-fighter had accidentally started the ship, and flew on an auto course to a separatist space station, shot at the reactor sending power to the droids, deactivating them all. Long story short, we kill Death, and the proggs die. Quote
Endgame Posted October 24, 2012 Posted October 24, 2012 To quote every Big Movie Corporation ever: "I cannot confirm or deny that." Quote
Zepher Posted October 24, 2012 Posted October 24, 2012 Does this new method seem to work for everyone? Both alphabetical, and also in order of appearance? Quote
Endgame Posted October 24, 2012 Posted October 24, 2012 Awesome, I like this layout much better. Quote
Zepher Posted October 24, 2012 Posted October 24, 2012 Please note, the second post will eventually just be "Quest 1". The alphabetical index will simply be the text with link version. Characters who appear more than once will simply be catalogued in every quest they appear in. This new system should almost help us see which quests we are missing NPCs for. Quote
Masked Builder Posted October 25, 2012 Posted October 25, 2012 Yeah I like it a lot Zepher. Is it just me, or are most of the pictures messed up? Quote
Flipz Posted October 25, 2012 Posted October 25, 2012 "Aunty Sycamore? " Interesting to see that the Zeigfrieds do indeed have a connection to Zoot. I had no idea that I was actually playing into Arthur's familial roots by writing Chaos into his backstory. I really, REALLY wish Arthur could have met Sycamore, though. In other news, I'm shocked that no one sees the absolute easiest way to beat some of the tougher enemies--particularly Sycamore. It's even something Sandy's said MULTIPLE times and even hinted to in QM notes. (Then again, I saw it mentioned--by Sandy--in the Library recently, so... ) Quote

Theoretically yes because the phoenix essence works that way... but we would also lose Shaun. Quote
Flipz Posted October 25, 2012 Posted October 25, 2012 (edited) If you're talking about the phoenix incenses... would that work? Theoretically yes because the phoenix essence works that way... but we would also lose Shaun. Shaun would flee once Sycamore was defeated, and would thus be safe from the battle. As for the effect of Phoenix Essence on undead: "As you know, the undead cannot be harmed by normal weapons - only those imbued with elemental magic. It was also discovered that things that heal mortal beings reversely hurt the undead. I do wonder, would a Phoenix Essence instantly slay an undead enemy, then?" QM Note: One more thing: I did not give you those Phoenix Incenses for no reason! Edited October 25, 2012 by Flipz Quote
Flare Posted October 25, 2012 Posted October 25, 2012 That's going to be one humdinger of a final battle in Quest#44, Sandy. Lovely build for the arch demon. Who says its the final battle? Quote
CMP Posted October 25, 2012 Posted October 25, 2012 Who says its the final battle? I count five demons, a lich, a horde of undead, and your quests' goal, in a black temple devoted to the god of evil. I would assume it's the final battle. Quote
Scubacarrot Posted October 25, 2012 Posted October 25, 2012 Shaun would flee once Sycamore was defeated, and would thus be safe from the battle. As for the effect of Phoenix Essence on undead: So we would kill Sycamore with a phoenix essence, then use the phoenix incense, and have only the demons to fight? It can't be that easy, can it? Quote
Sandy Posted October 25, 2012 Author Posted October 25, 2012 Please note, the second post will eventually just be "Quest 1". The alphabetical index will simply be the text with link version. Characters who appear more than once will simply be catalogued in every quest they appear in. This new system should almost help us see which quests we are missing NPCs for. Looks absolutely great! But when an NPC entry is updated, you will have to remember to edit all the quests related to that NPC. In other news, I'm shocked that no one sees the absolute easiest way to beat some of the tougher enemies--particularly Sycamore. It's even something Sandy's said MULTIPLE times and even hinted to in QM notes. (Then again, I saw it mentioned--by Sandy--in the Library recently, so... ) I fail to remember if a Phoenix Essence has actually ever been used to instantly kill an undead enemy? So we would kill Sycamore with a phoenix essence, then use the phoenix incense, and have only the demons to fight? It can't be that easy, can it? But a Phoenix Incense would hit all enemies, meaning it would be redirected at the Pheles Rod. I'm doing my damnest not to make this battle too easy for you. Who says its the final battle? I do, in the QM Notes below the battle listing. Quote
Flipz Posted October 25, 2012 Posted October 25, 2012 I fail to remember if a Phoenix Essence has actually ever been used to instantly kill an undead enemy? Hey, aren't you the one who originally suggested it? To my knowledge, no, it hasn't actually been tried. Also, found this post in Historic themes: One thing to keep in mind with the plethora of fleshie elves: maybe it's a GOOD thing the skin tones don't match the yellows! Elves aren't human, after all. Perhaps their skin tone could work as a way of making them distinct from your yellow figures? Just a thought. This is a VERY interesting thought--perhaps we might discover a new race of Elf in the future? I must admit, I think fleshie Elves would fit in with the yellow-skins much better than most fleshies would... Quote

I must admit, I think fleshie Elves would fit in with the yellow-skins much better than most fleshies would... How may races of elves do we know of? I know there's the Brobric Elves, and I've mentioned that Luke isn't one of them. Then it seems likely that at least one of all the other elves isn't a member of one of those two races, plus there's at least one half-elven (unspecified elven race) and one half-Brobric Elf. Quote
