Yeah. but none of the dwarf characters have had much of a background either. Although, I believe a Quest is being planned involving them.

Mages can't heal. A cleric is the only basic class that can. When you can, you can buy a healing staff, which allows a mage to heal too, but it's nothing you can get right away. The reason why you would cast a spell is because you can do it from the back row with full damage, while an attack would either have to be from the front row and have more risk, or be from the back row and deal half damage (with most weapons). Also, depending on the gem you own and the element that relates to it, it is possible to deal bonus elemental damage (for example a plant is weak against fire.)

Ah yes of course, thanks for bringing light into this. Kind of mixed up casting spells and healing  And taking the rows in account it makes more sense to me. Thanks for clarifying. Perhaps I should have begin to ask such questions lot earlier.

@skyrimguy: I guess there will be this point of regretting your character choice for everyone at some time. It's sure early enough for you to create a new character, but keep in mind that you might not be completely satisfied with him later on as well. And in "real life" you are not able to change your gender, age, origin, skin, (original) hair color as well. You have to live with it.

I would try to work with your sarge. He has / is a special character. If you don't like the way he is acting, he could maybe experience something that changed his heart. But remember that it must be something that you are allowed to influence and that it does not come too abrupt. It has to slowly emerge.

Though, If you are really unhappy with your class because of his way of fighting or how it fits to his personality, you should consider to let him die and start new again. You won't lose so much while you already will have learned a lot during this first quest.

Sarge is a complex character..... Ok, that's a load of lies, he's a thieving, violent, alcoholic who has served in almost every army around the globe. He is tactically incompetent and.... IS A PIRATE! Yoho a pirate is me!

I imagine him almost like Connor's mentor in Assassin's creed 3. But quicker. And I guess I need to work on something for his pegleg. The pegleg of doom weapon perhaps? perhaps a hidden blade in his walking stick like the Spook's apprentice books. I dunno. Sarge is just very easy to play. He is simple, and has a very boastworthy personality. I don't need to kill him off. There are many other ways to change his species. Kill him and then have him resurrected as a zombie. I may do that. Or I could have him contract vampirism? I don't need to kill him off.

The heroes look at each other and understands that they now have a new mission to take care of. Find the murderer who killed Sir Mandric Melifano right in the middle of the Sanctuary of Ennoc.

It was Miss Scarlett with the pokey stick!! :sing:

Or wait, maybe it was suicide!

Or how do we know that he just didn't die a natural death?

I think killing off your character is unneccasary in most cases. The only good reason would be if you really hated the basic class you've chosen, and even then you should keep in mind that there's blurring going from level 15 and up. It's important to keep in mind you don't have to keep a clear lining for your character, if you think your character lacks something, you don't like the personality, you just change it! No one is going to mind if your character suddenly gets weak-willed around women, or has a tendency to sniff all the greenery around them, or even suddenly becomes a grumpy git, or the other way around, suddenly has a much happier view on life. Some changes may not be the most subtle and some of them might not be pulled off seamlessly, but really, no one minds. And at the end of the day it is most important you enjoy playing the character, and others enjoy interacting with the character, and that can be in a variety of ways! While different races might help to make a character interesting, I still think it's the style of the character and the actual roleplay that makes the character awesome. I must say there are some characters in the Heroica RPG whose race really adds something: (Skrall in particular), but there are also some where a different race adds very little to the actual character, looks maybe, and that's important too, but not the most important in my opinion. Think of it this way: A way of fighting all manner of things for money and other rewards, and free drinks and food inbetween jobs, you don't think that's bound to attract this sort of character: Human, they always are plentiful, impulsive, oppertunistic and focused on fighting in fantasy, Male, the more aggresive of the genders, if you discount verbally, that is. (no offense intended, ladies. :look:) Rogues: Free drinks, free food, fighting for riches? Seems logical doesn't it.

A small critique is that I think you maybe should focus less on characters from popular media. I agree that Red vs Blue and the Assassin's Creed series are great things, but if you are going to focus on making your character like characters from those kind of sources, your character may not develop their own style, people might recognize the traits, and some may not get it, which is not very positive. References are awesome, of course, but focus on creating your own character, not copying exisiting ones, if that makes any sense. :classic:

On a personal note, I think resurrecting Sarge as some kind of zombie is a good idea, maybe he was cursed or something, or has unfinished business or something along those lines. If everything else fails, you can always go for the classic knock over the head for a difference in style, or a horrible accident with a magical artifact.

>Sylph VS Mage B (back): Critical Hit (7x2=14+17=31 damage, 1 gold earned

Perhaps I failed to see something. I haven't been keeping as great tabs on this fight as perhaps I should, but what is the bold part all about? :sceptic:

It's the merry bow. My money-loving ranged weapon.

I feel that I've just realised that I DO enjoy playing as Sarge. But I don't really think anyone enjoys rp'ing with him. Could I ask a favour? Look through quest 47 and describe Sarge for me. It'd help and I'd be grateful if you would.

Hi, I have three questions:

First: How often comes Elphaba's Magic Wagon in Eubrik??

Second: I want to buy a gem, actually I have an Amethyst, which would be the best?? (I want to merge the gems in my bow)

Third: How it works the system of Reputations??

I hope don't bore you, thanks beforehand :classic:

Is it just me, or is quest 52 very similar to 37?

I have to admit I didn't read any of #37, why do you believe they are similar?

And Zeph, thanks for the shoutout for the Maginastra in the NPC Index, I am glad people like him as a character.

Second: I want to buy a gem, actually I have an Amethyst, which would be the best?? (I want to merge the gems in my bow)

Third: How it works the system of Reputations??

I hope don't bore you, thanks beforehand :classic:

1. Elphaba comes to Eubric generally around the month of November and I believe May??

2. It really varies. Amethysts are some of the most valuable gems as they allow you to be effective versus humanoid enemies (the most common in Eubric). After that it becomes a game of figuring out which elements counteract each other and which ones give you the best advantage. Take Pie's Ratsbane for example, it is imbued with fire, ice, wind, and earth and thus does quadruple damage to Vermin, Beasts, and Plants, double damage to Icy and Electric Monsters, and is ineffective against Mechanical and Rock Monsters. It's all a balancing act.

3. Whenever you complete a quest for a certain faction, your reputation increases, consequently you lose any gained reputation you had with the faction's rivals. Thus if you have good reputation with the Hinckwells and you complete a quest for the Shadeaux, you gain good reputation with the Shadeaux and lose your good reputation with the Hinckwells.

On an unrelated issue, would using a Health Core on an Undead monster kill it?

Can heroes lend other Heroes weapons and/or money? I really want that amethyst!

Yes there is no rule against this. However it is looked down upon if you lend you equimpent to another player, restart, and have them give everything back to your new character.

Good thing that I've decided not to restart. And I'm considering Sarge becoming a Witch at level 15. He can hal with methods that he learn't in the army. Something lik that anyway.

That bow wants me to become an Assassin. How much for it?

It's only usable by beast-warriors and rangers, but if you're thinking of heading that way, a weapon of equal/greater power (preferably ranged) would be a fair trade! :sweet:
