Zepher Posted December 3, 2012 Posted December 3, 2012 Yes, that will be a section I develop after I finish with all of this other work. And yes, Wren will be in the "need to know" but who does everyone love? Maybe I'll use Patricia. I love Patricia. Quote
Flipz Posted December 3, 2012 Posted December 3, 2012 No, "Spellspin" is literally a spell, so it's long-ranged by default. Cinna just caused 1630 damage, that doesn't seem unfair to anyone? But as far as "War Cry" goes, I'm thinking of making it cause damage to all enemies in the case that all allies are already encouraged. So it would be "Frenzy" with a twist. Ah, the description doesn't read that way; it reads as if the user gets a free elemental weapon enchant for one Round, and then does a physical attack to the enemies, which would be affected by row. If you still think it's OP, I'd say just reduce the number of attacks somewhat (2-8, perhaps?) and make it work...well, the way I just described. Yes, that will be a section I develop after I finish with all of this other work. And yes, Wren will be in the "need to know" but who does everyone love? Maybe I'll use Patricia. I love Patricia. Chesterine Zeigfried. Or Cronk ohwait... Quote
Zepher Posted December 3, 2012 Posted December 3, 2012 Alright, updated NPC index! The One You NEED to Know - Wren. Come on, she's coming to Eubric. Just give this one to me. The One We Want to See Featured Again - Umbra! Back by popular demand! She's fiesty and from Charis! What's not to like. I say we bring her on home. The One Everyone Loves - Captain Patricia. Probably... well, ONE of my very favorite character in Heroica. Written by two fine writers, and written well by both of them. No one has shown such true and fair contempt for Heroica and still been likable. She sees a city she clearly loves and wonders how the hell she'll be able to save it. What a stunningly beautiful character. Quote
CMP Posted December 3, 2012 Posted December 3, 2012 I like Patricia as well. I can't imagine most people in IC do, but you can't have a corrupt security force without a gruff no-nonsense leader determined to root it out. Quote

I agree with giving War Cry a damage dealing aspect. As far as Spellspin, Cinna was encouraged and was using an Amathyst, both of which are common enough so deducting those from her attack equals 407 which is still on the high side, however there was only 1 target left so that didn't exactly help it seem balanced. Perhaps using only 1 die rolled would keep it a little more manageable? Quote
Scubacarrot Posted December 3, 2012 Posted December 3, 2012 I would limit it to one die, the possibility of twelve, or anything more than 3, honestly, is extremely powerful compared to everything else. The 4 roll is no redeeming factor, because guess what, 10 ether for a weapon upgrade, damn good deal. Quote
Brickdoctor Posted December 3, 2012 Posted December 3, 2012 10 ether for a weapon upgrade, damn good deal. Agreed. It could be an inconvenience in the middle of battle, but as long as you stay Mystic Knight, on paper 10 Ether is the same cost in Gold as upgrading from WP: 2 to WP: 3. Quote
Chromeknight Posted December 3, 2012 Posted December 3, 2012 So, to balance out the mystic knight, - have each spell out of spellspin cost an ether. - have the ether cost of the upgrade be equal to the WP the weapon goes to Quote
TheBoyWonder Posted December 3, 2012 Posted December 3, 2012 No to second one. If they came from a knight it would ruin there ether. Quote
Zepher Posted December 3, 2012 Posted December 3, 2012 So, to balance out the mystic knight, - have each spell out of spellspin cost an ether. - have the ether cost of the upgrade be equal to the WP the weapon goes to Second one, absolutely. Needs to happen. First one... I think limiting it to one die would make the class more manageable, but certainly still appealing. Quote
Brickdoctor Posted December 3, 2012 Posted December 3, 2012 No to second one. If they came from a knight it would ruin there ether. That's exactly what makes the change good. If the Mystic Knight has enough Ether, he gets a powerful buff at an expense that is proportionate to the strength of the buff and can be an inconvenience not fixed by a cheap consumable. Not enough Ether, nothing happens, just like a normal Miss, and that becomes more common, making it more like the fourth roll it is. Quote
Pyrovisionary Posted December 3, 2012 Posted December 3, 2012 (edited) Essentially. 10 ether, is not worth a late upgrade cost. A mystic knight could buy ether cores, deplete his/her ether and upgrade his/her weapon... Then use the ether core. Slightly unfair I would have thought. Making it a temporary upgrade would be fair though. Or am I being stupid and it already is? Edited December 3, 2012 by Skyrimguy Quote

I thought that it lasted as long as you're a Mystic Knight, but I reread the class sheet and it sounds like it's permanent. (it just says that it "doesn't transfer to new equipment") Quote

Add the one instead of two dice, and you have a much more balanced class. As for Berserker, maybe give their Shield the ability to stack? Quote
Pyrovisionary Posted December 3, 2012 Posted December 3, 2012 Just a note. Psykater? There is a character much alike yours in some of the Terry Pratchett books. I recommend you read feet of clay It may help alot with your already excellent roleplaying. It seriously has got an Amma-esque character in it! Quote

Tanma Posted December 3, 2012 Posted December 3, 2012 (edited) Since the time travel destroyed it, I reposted the short story I penned in culture and multimedia. More on topic, was anything major lost here? Edited December 3, 2012 by Tanma Quote
Flipz Posted December 3, 2012 Posted December 3, 2012 Sandy's revisions to the Mystic Knight and Berserker. Also, probably a bunch of marketplace stuff. Quote
Bricksandparts Posted December 3, 2012 Posted December 3, 2012 Oh, stuff was deleted? Oh, I didn't realize, I hadn't been on yesterday. Quote
Brickdoctor Posted December 3, 2012 Posted December 3, 2012 Does this mean we can replay the Round where I rolled Damage again against the Aepyornis? Quote

Brickdoctor Posted December 4, 2012 Posted December 4, 2012 Yay! I was not a fan of those anyway. The changes should still be there in the Training Room; the images weren't hosted on EB. We only lost all the reasons that the changes were made. Quote
