Palathadric Posted December 5, 2012 Posted December 5, 2012 Maybe this is a stupid question but SP what does in the realty?? It decrease the power of the attack?? If your enemy is Level 4, and you have one SP, instead of taking 4 damage, you would take just 3. Since you'll be fighting from the back row though, the damage you take is already halved 4/2=2-1SP=1 damage taken. So, yes, it decreases the power of the enemy's attack against you. Quote
Endgame Posted December 5, 2012 Posted December 5, 2012 Oh god sandy that is one reference you should never make. I hear that song at least 8 times a day in the hallway. Some people even substitute "Gangnam" with my name! Quote
Scorpiox Posted December 5, 2012 Posted December 5, 2012 Oh dear. "Hey fishy ladies..." Now to get to work on the next hit single "The Fields of Glory" by Lady Baba. Bloody Gangnam Style. Gets everywhere. If only real music could find its way into Heroica. Quote
Scubacarrot Posted December 5, 2012 Posted December 5, 2012 Interesting choices, the people that answered! It seems people mostly go for the lyrics or title for their theme song, and a lot of people are scared to answer. I like to go more for general sound of the music that gives me a feeling it would work if you saw the character in a scene or something. For Guts, or whatever his name is, I would choose, this little masterpiece: Not based on the lyrics, although they kind of make sense with Guts in mind, the music is most important to me. I sound sooo pretentious. Quote
Endgame Posted December 5, 2012 Posted December 5, 2012 Here is Sorrow's: apologies for the intro, this it the best quality of the track I could find: And just for a bit more, this is what i imagine Aquos's battle them to be, minus the last phase of the music: Quote
Zepher Posted December 5, 2012 Posted December 5, 2012 (edited) I think it's the references that make the game appealing. It's postmodernism writing, and it's awesome. It's actually what most fantasy lacks. Only in Heroica can you expect Gangnam Style, the Merry (Wo)men, people of questionable gender (Singerson!), and Prometheus. It's a game for educated people who are educated in every facet. And I'll try to think of something for Boomingham. I listen to a wide array of music, so I'm afraid of posting something strange. But, here's two I think work for him and his multiple different personality traits. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ri5K28MSY_A (This is also a fun song to listen to whenever a party is preparing for a big battle, and they've all become chummy). Electroswing is also one of my very favorite styles of music (look up Caravan Palace, Parov Stelar or Tape Five).Fun trivia - Let's Start a Riot was indeed named after the song by Three Day Grace... though I'm not a huge fan of that style of music as a whole. EDIT: This could also just be me listing songs I like. Edited December 5, 2012 by Zepher Quote
Endgame Posted December 5, 2012 Posted December 5, 2012 On second thought, I think the Proggs as a whole just seem to work (minus a select few individuals) with a Jazz motif - and I don't even like Jazz all that much! Case and point: this is what I imagine playing during most of the battles of 48, especially The Rally. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=RSKX9wrfjcM Can you tell I like the Paper Mario games and their soundtrack yet? TheBoyWonder Posted December 5, 2012 Posted December 5, 2012 Goodbye Mr A by the Hoosiers would be Leos theme, it suits him quite well. Quote
Sandy Posted December 5, 2012 Author Posted December 5, 2012 Now to get to work on the next hit single "The Fields of Glory" by Lady Baba. Love that idea! "I'm on the Fields of Glory And I'm hunting down a monster or two Out on the Fields of Glory And I'm hunting down a monster with you..." Ahem... In other news, I decided to make "dual strike weapons" a bit more simple to use, so here's an updated answer for the FAQ: Q: How do weapons with a "dual strike" effect work, exactly? And can a shield be carried with "twin weapons"? A: "Dual strike" deals damage to either the targetted enemy and the enemy next in the order OR double damage to one enemy upon a successful hit. A shield can be wielded with any weapon that doesn't specifically negate its use. What comes to Ellaria's "theme song", Eva by Nightwish (a Finnish pop metal band) is the first suitable one that springs to mind. Quote

posades Posted December 6, 2012 Posted December 6, 2012 Two unrelated thoughts/questions: 1) Just to clarify, when something in the marketplace says Power +3 for instance, that means the WP is increased by 3 before any multipliers correct? 2) I'm still thinking rolling a shield should not be a curse under any circumstance; with more and stronger enemies being introduced as levels begin to increase, I can see Wardens being knocked out more often if they Aura. Maybe leave them with 1 HP if they would otherwise be KO'd or something along those lines? Quote

Brickdoctor Posted December 6, 2012 Posted December 6, 2012 1) Just to clarify, when something in the marketplace says Power +3 for instance, that means the WP is increased by 3 before any multipliers correct? I think someone asked this before, but I can't remember what the answer was. Power is WP+Level, so I calculate +n Power after I add the WP and Level but before any further modifiers. (or just after WP, in the case of Aim) I calculate +n WP first, adding it to the WP before anything else. WP, Level and +n Power/WP are all calculated with addition before any multipliers, so I don't think there's any difference in the end result in normal battle, but I do differentiate between the two. Flipz Posted December 6, 2012 Posted December 6, 2012 Bleargh, I'm getting pummelled by final projects, and Finals week doesn't even start until Monday... Oh, and swils, do you want to be repaid now or can you afford to wait until after Quest 53? It doesn't majorly matter to me either way, it just affects how many consumables I buy. Quote

swils Posted December 6, 2012 Posted December 6, 2012 Been super busy with term papers and finals, only been able to lurk around here, heh. If you don't mind paying while Thorm and Arthur are in the Hall now, that'd be great. Puts me much closer to having the funds to complete a trade with Docken. Now I just need Haldor to get back here, and I'll be set! I wish any of the weapons I have/will be acquiring were more suited to a certain strain of draconian warriors. I'm going to have to build my armory from the ground up eventually. So if anyone wants to buy that Tailblade (12 WP. Come on, before that becomes the norm! Haha)... In my lurking, I saw someone ask a question about artifacts that were resistant to a certain element, and if that meant it had a gem in it that you could extract. If there was a clarification on that, I must have missed it. Could someone catch me up to speed on that? Quote
