swils Posted December 21, 2012 Posted December 21, 2012 Jebs, Xarzaan, Kadabra and BioniClover have all disappeared. Strange, seeing as Jebs gave Xarzaan something when Xarzaan started Heroica, and Kadabra and Bioniclover knew each other. Well, I know Jeb had a new little bundle-of-quest-delays-joy during his last quest, so I'd not be surprised if he had his focus elsewhere of late. The others, I can't recall exactly. Kadabra was going to retire Arasmyth after that last quest, so he might be taking a break before doing that. And since Kadabra and Bionic are brothers(?) or something, maybe they're breaking together? Quote
Bricksandparts Posted December 21, 2012 Posted December 21, 2012 No, it's a bit different, Dark matter (In fiction, not real science, it is something completely different there) is an indestructible material, used to make the most powerful of dark weapons. Quote
JimBee Posted December 21, 2012 Posted December 21, 2012 Yeah, of course. And those wing pieces are perfect for the Rito (as well as angels), aren't they? Yes. I plan to use them for younger Rito. Quote
TheBoyWonder Posted December 21, 2012 Posted December 21, 2012 Seems Chima is one of the best themes partwise for Heroica. Got some really intresting RP for Lycan planned. Quote
Brickdoctor Posted December 21, 2012 Posted December 21, 2012 Legonater, can I have my Bedroll back? I forgot to ask for it while I was still in the Fields. Quote
Brickdoctor Posted December 21, 2012 Posted December 21, 2012 Ah, I see it now. I missed the edit to the post. Quote
Capt.JohnPaul Posted December 21, 2012 Posted December 21, 2012 #Q55: Do we follow the soldiers or are we heading away from them? That's your decision. Quote
herrJJ Posted December 21, 2012 Posted December 21, 2012 That's your decision. Yes, of course I was just wondering if the "new" crossing is a new way or just the normal next step. But I guess one can see it from the former pictures. Quote
swils Posted December 21, 2012 Posted December 21, 2012 Just looked up LoC... I'm going to need to scrounge funds now because there are far too many awesome figs and accessories in that line. Quote
Brickdoctor Posted December 21, 2012 Posted December 21, 2012 Just looked up LoC... I'm going to need to scrounge funds now because there are far too many awesome figs and accessories in that line. They do have some nice accessories, even if the minifigs have a cartoonish look that I don't really like. And I think that trans-blue gem piece would be perfect as a new picture for Mythril Shards. (or some other chunk of Mythril) I won't be buying the sets, though. Lord of the Rings is already taking too much money away from Star Wars. It's incredible how many different themes' minifig pieces we can use with Heroica. I never would've been looking specifically for new accessories in action theme sets if I wasn't building for this game. Quote
Endgame Posted December 22, 2012 Posted December 22, 2012 I can't wait to see the Galaxy Squad buggoid/mosquitoid fig used in Heroica, as well as the cocoons. Anyone who manages to use the Green Android's head well gets a medal. Quote

I never would've been looking specifically for new accessories in action theme sets if I wasn't building for this game. The Lion faction certainly has a cartoony feel, especially the heads. For the most part, though, I don't see the rest of the factions as being too cartoony. The avian helmets in particular strike me as awesome props/equipment for Heroica. Then there's all the new torso & leg prints.. Granted, they've all got toes/claws printed on the feet, but I think that's a detail that can be overlooked, if the framing of a picture even requires the fig to be shot that low. Then there's the Lone Ranger with a few interesting molds and prints. Galaxy Squad I hadn't heard much about until I started looking at it just now, but... /drool, those insectoid molds! Heroica, and even moreso the desire to eventually establish myself as a QM within Heroica, has had a significant impact on my purchasing patterns. I came out of my dark age with some Star Wars sets, as well as an interest in amassing an army/continuing my Star Wars minifig collection. Over the last year or so, I've shifted away from Star Wars sets to Medieval/Fantasy themed sets, picking up sets I'd never dreamed I'd be interested in. The Monster Fighters theme had plenty of new figs for me to toy with, even though the sets themselves wouldn't have otherwise caught my eye. Heck, even the collectible series had me hooked. Even though I could have easily bricklinked any of the figs I wanted, it was so much more enjoyable to stand in the aisle, rooting through the boxes and feeling up the packets until I thought I'd collected the figs I'd wanted. And then getting home and opening them and having felt up most of the bags correctly.. Felt like a kid again! And to tie it back into Heroica, it's true, Doc, there are so many themes that I now have an interest thanks to Heroica, that I would have otherwise overlooked. Even looking back through my own collection, I rarely used my old Tribal and Western figs, but now I find myself trying to think up ways to incorporate the more interesting figs and parts into Heroica scenes, whenever I get around to hosting! I've also got to find a way/an excuse to squeeze my 20ish Minotaurs into a single shot... E: Wow, wrote way more than I'd thought. @Endgame, This one? Easy! Get two of those heads and maybe the Lizardman CMF body and make them the stoic guardians at the end of a giant hedge maze! Edited December 22, 2012 by swils Quote
Zepher Posted December 22, 2012 Posted December 22, 2012 Update in one or two hours! My goal is to get you guys into a battle by tomorrow!! Quote
Endgame Posted December 22, 2012 Posted December 22, 2012 ...Welp, Swils, that wasn't nearly as hard as I thought. Can anyone tell the Vermin Vaporizer is at the top of my Christmas List yet? I can't wait to get dat green robot. Quote
swils Posted December 22, 2012 Posted December 22, 2012 Much easier said than done, of course. Hedge mazes just aren't in this year. They're so 2011. Quote
Flipz Posted December 22, 2012 Posted December 22, 2012 Much easier said than done, of course. Hedge mazes just aren't in this year. They're so 2011. I'm having sudden visions of the Minecraft Twilight Forest mod. We already have liches and nagas, now we just need hydras and fire swamps and we'll basically have the whole dimension within Heroica. Also, as to the "missing" players: Jebs ragequit after Sandy wouldn't let him steal the Scroll of Luck, Xarzzan was, I think, one of his friends, and Kadabra and BL are brothers and they seemed to be going through a rough time IRL around the end of 35. Interestingly, with Xarzzan inactive, Zeph how has every single Healing Staff in existence except Xarzzan's in his Quest. Also, wow, this party is going to be awesome! Allow me to start chanting early: PvP! PvP! PvP! PvP! EDIT: Can't wait to see Haldor and Dyric vs. Thothwick and Cronk. OR all four vs. Arthur! Quote
Bricksandparts Posted December 22, 2012 Posted December 22, 2012 Minecraft! Oh that game I play a lot now... On another note, how is everyone doing IRL this holiday season? Quote
Palathadric Posted December 22, 2012 Posted December 22, 2012 On another note, does anyone have any thoughts on Haldor's new costume? This must be a mistake. Shamens are supposed to bare-chested. Quote
Flipz Posted December 22, 2012 Posted December 22, 2012 Wow, MegaBlokin' LONG-megablocks post there! I guess Arthur's back to form. Also, wow, I guess Althior's taking the fact that Arthur's with Alexis pretty well... Quote
Endgame Posted December 22, 2012 Posted December 22, 2012 On another note, how is everyone doing IRL this holiday season? Evverything is going nice and smooth on my end, if a bit mundane at times. I don't think I could stand Alexis as an IRL person. Such illogical thinking (My boyfriend is trying to conole a friend who had her baby abducted! CHEATER!) would drive me mad. If Syntax ever learned of this, his name literally meaning the order of logic, he would chew her out so bad. When I learned cops in my area had a speeding ticket quota, I quite nearly slammed my head on a brick wall. I settled for a pillow. Quote
Palathadric Posted December 22, 2012 Posted December 22, 2012 And, yes, Dyric goes assassin! I knew it! I don't think I could stand Alexis as an IRL person. Such illogical thinking (My boyfriend is trying to conole a friend who had her baby abducted! CHEATER!) would drive me mad. Same here. Quote

Consoling a friend of the opposite sex (or, if one is homosexual or bisexual, the same sex) should generally not be done by taking the person to dinner--or at least, not to a one-on-one dinner. Even worse is that he broke a date with Alexis to do it. Althior should've organized a group effort to comfort Ellaria, WITH Alexis' permission AND support, if he didn't want to set off Alexis' jealousy reaction. I mean, heck, if I had a girlfriend and she took some other guy out to dinner, I'd be at least a little jealous, no matter what reason she'd have for it--it's only natural. Knowing there's a good reason =/= feeling the reason is good. Besides, consoling someone you find physically attractive while one or both of you are attached can be risky enough anyway--the concept of "grief sex" exists for a reason, after all. Random Question Time! What novels and/or plays have had the biggest influence on your character(s)? Comic books/manga are fine, but let's try to focus on written literature if possible. Quote
Zepher Posted December 22, 2012 Posted December 22, 2012 Man, you guys post too friggin' quick for me. Interestingly, with Xarzzan inactive, Zeph now has every single Healing Staff in existence except Xarzzan's in his Quest. Also, wow, this party is going to be awesome! Allow me to start chanting early: PvP! PvP! PvP! PvP! And I absolutely hate Healing Staffs. Maybe they'll all burn. Along with all that other stuff you're making me switch around in your inventories. This party is ALREADY awesome. But man, fight fight fight. Poor Cronk just wants everyone to be friends! I hope to not give you enough TIME for PvP battles. The enemies will be fast and loose! Quote
