Zepher Posted December 26, 2012 Posted December 26, 2012 (edited) Understood Sandy! I'll give Alexis back her ether!! (And add the +2 WP from the hunter's quiver for Skrall) right before I do my next update!! The battle should finish up early tomorrow morning, or even later tonight! Thanks for everyone's patience AND dedication during these few slow and busy days! "OMG Can I hit something!" You realize you're a Paladin, right? We weren't designed to hit things. Flipz Posted December 27, 2012 Posted December 27, 2012 Finally, someone better think of Boomingham this Holiday season. He was more than generous. Good will towards Skrall?! That should be getting him so many nice points with Father Grogmas. That's the true Holiday Spirit of giving. Trying to min max another player. Do unto others as you would have them do to you... ...and on that note... Quote
Zepher Posted December 27, 2012 Posted December 27, 2012 (edited) Can someone remind me if Summons deal damage automatically? Create a Greatsword that gains money on each strike and gift that to Boomingham. Someone. Somewhere. I'd go on a whole quest for just that. I friggin' need more gold. It's hard playing a greedy character who never makes any money. Also, clearly Boomingham needs more friends. Though I do love the Scroll of Hagglin', Flipz. Even though I HATE how many more and more unique items are introduced into this game. It is making hosting a nightmare, I promise you. Edited December 27, 2012 by Zepher Quote
Flipz Posted December 27, 2012 Posted December 27, 2012 Can someone remind me if Summons deal damage automatically? Yes, they do, no roll needed. That's why I said that Alexis could take out Beast B on her own, as long as the spirit is put before her in the Battle Order. Also, I think Arthur has one Ether too many, he should be at 25/28 Ether, I think. Quote
CorneliusMurdock Posted December 27, 2012 Posted December 27, 2012 OoC: Is Cronk putting Haldor last in the BO so that he can't heal anyone to death? Maybe. Haldor may swear that he'll never do such a thing again, but Cronk just might be a little wary of him. I thought about Cronk giving something to Boomers but they really only talked once. Quote
Endgame Posted December 27, 2012 Posted December 27, 2012 With well over 5 story arcs in Heroica, perhaps, in the index, quests can have denotions signifying which arc thy are in? For example, next to 53, maybe just a *Wren Quest* would help organize it a bit better. Quote
Flipz Posted December 27, 2012 Posted December 27, 2012 Gah, CM! I so want to read what you're saying about Arthur, but I'm forcing myself to follow Dastan Rules for things. (Same goes for you with Dyric's backstory, Leg, I really want Arthur to get to hear the whole story sometime, and for Dyric to get to hear Arthur's. ) Also, Thanks Zeph for paring me with Hans, forced me to think hard about Arthur's response (you know, given that Hans is a bit less of an archetype compared to the other NPCs; he's a regular guy, so really all there is to talk about with him are the everyday things, like shared experiences or odd observations about the present). It's helped me crystallize Arthur's mindset about himself and some of the other Heroes (particularly his thoughts about his relationship with Alexis) a little bit better. Interestingly...nah, I won't say it. I will say it's surprising, based on the things he said back in the Hall, since this directly contradicts that; since both feel extremely in-character for him, though, I'm guessing it has to do with a natural separation between hope and expectation. Really nice, unexpected push, Zeph. Quote
Zepher Posted December 27, 2012 Posted December 27, 2012 I picked your partners carefully!! They'll all respond tomorrow. I'm loving the responses - this is why I'm so happy with my Wren Questers. They are some of the most dedicated RPer's, which I understand isn't the point of the game for some people, but it is for me, and I love having all these people who pay a lot of attention and have really strong characters. So thank you all! I'm also trying flesh out some new relationships. I feel bad for this large of a group sometimes, because it's tough to talk with that many people. I want to let some personal relationships still develop even though the quest is fast-paced and action packed, because I assume that's why people like Wren. Quote

Flipz Posted December 27, 2012 Posted December 27, 2012 Digging the forced roleplaying, Zeph. Probably for the best Docken didn't come along. I disagree, it's a shame Docken didn't come along, we could have forced him to roleplay! Quote
Sandy Posted December 27, 2012 Author Posted December 27, 2012 Because this is the season of giving, I've added a few things to the rules: 1. There's now a new enemy type: ethereal enemies. They are automatically immune to all elemental damage, so a mage (and especially a sage) is pretty much helpless against them. 2. Mythril is so 2012, next year Adamantite is all the rage! Who wouldn't want a +25 bonus to their weapon or shield, anyway? If you can't find Adamantite anywhere, you can always settle for some Scrap Metal or Pearls, they're worth something at least. 3. There's going to be three more expert job classes: the dual-sided Regulator (created by Zepher), the soaring Winged Warrior (created by JimButcher) and one other created by myself which will be kept under the wraps for now. Something to look forward on the upcoming year, eh? Quote

See, this is why it's always a good idea to have a Scroll Mage who can also deal non-elemental damage with Rogue weapons on hand. 2. Question: can Adamantite and Mythril be stacked, or is it a choice of one or the other for a given weapon? Will Anwyl charge the same price to make a weapon adamantine as he does to mythrilize it, or does he charge more for the more advanced service? Quote

Zepher Posted December 27, 2012 Posted December 27, 2012 Digging the forced roleplaying, Zeph. Probably for the best Docken didn't come along. I've said it before and I'll say it again. Docken is a GREAT CHARACTER. He's a greedy sonuvbitch obsessed with immortality quiet, level-headed guy, and Heroica could use more of his kind. Sandy, as always, you never cease to impress. Thank you for the new everything, and for bringing us items that are fun, desirable, and don't make me want to rake my face across hot coals when doing damage calculation. Quote
Sandy Posted December 27, 2012 Author Posted December 27, 2012 2. Question: can Adamantite and Mythril be stacked, or is it a choice of one or the other for a given weapon? Will Anwyl charge the same price to make a weapon adamantine as he does to mythrilize it, or does he charge more for the more advanced service? I'll update Anwyl's services to include Adamantite asap, but to answer your questions, the two ores cannot be forged into the same piece of equipment, and forging adamantite will cost more than forging mythril. With well over 5 story arcs in Heroica, perhaps, in the index, quests can have denotions signifying which arc thy are in? For example, next to 53, maybe just a *Wren Quest* would help organize it a bit better. Good suggestion. I'll see what I can do. Quote
CMP Posted December 27, 2012 Posted December 27, 2012 Cool stuff. I need some of that Adamantite. Quote

Brickdoctor Posted December 27, 2012 Posted December 27, 2012 Uh oh, the Marketplace opening post got all jumbled up with code tags! Please tell me it is fixed automatically... Wow. Yep, that looks like your post, left in HMTL instead of being converted to BBCode by the editor. I'm guessing that's what happened to you, Zeph?I would try editing it and toggling between the RTE and plain text editor to see if it'll convert it back to BBCode. If not, Bonaparte was able to look up an older version of Scorpiox's About Me page when he accidentally erased it, so maybe he can find an older version of the Marketplace post. Quote

I'm guessing that's what happened to you, Zeph? I've lost battle results to it twice. Don't know what the deal is. BD's Bonaparte solution sounds like the safest bet. Quote
Pyrovisionary Posted December 27, 2012 Posted December 27, 2012 I'm surprised that neither sorrow nor any of my other questies have suggested "Sarge: Punch in the face" or maybe.Amulet of annoying (Wearer can start a battle at any time) Quote
Wedge09 Posted December 27, 2012 Posted December 27, 2012 (edited) Wooo, 1003 messages, great; now I'm a count (Now, can I borrow the title of "Lord" from Lord Lawrence Boomingham?? ) Uh oh, the Marketplace opening post got all jumbled up with code tags! Please tell me it is fixed automatically... Unfortunately, it still has all the code , a similar things happened to me with my Heroes statistics and I had to delete everything and belittling I'm looking forward to see the new expert job classes Don't want to ruin the merriment, but there is a size limit on pictures, I believe. They're supposed to be 800 x 600 or smaller. It's also generally not necessary to quote add the whole picture to your quote when replying to someone. Don't mean to be all "moderatey" but... Do not be so picky, at Christmas all can be a little more lax Edited December 27, 2012 by Wedge09 Quote
CorneliusMurdock Posted December 27, 2012 Posted December 27, 2012 I had the same problem with SH posts when toggling editors. I manually removed the tags one time and it is tedious. I hope you get it fixed. Quote
Masked Builder Posted December 27, 2012 Posted December 27, 2012 Oh no, not another new expert class. I had a hard enough time trying to choose one last time! I love the forced RP Zeph, really made me think. Quote
