Pyrovisionary Posted December 27, 2012 Posted December 27, 2012 Guys.. Aren't we forgetting to give the person who made heroica happen any Grogmas gifts?? After all, without Sandy there would be no Heroica! Quote
Sandy Posted December 27, 2012 Author Posted December 27, 2012 Phew! I managed to reformat everything in the Marketplace, and updated some of the weapon and artifact suitabilities to reflect the expert job classes while I was at it. I just hope that someone will come up with a solution to this quirky problem soon, so I won't have to do what I just did ever again. I'm amazed that even in this age of technology, we still have to suffer from this sort of unpredictable lapses... Quote
posades Posted December 27, 2012 Posted December 27, 2012 Speaking of the marketplace, do you mind letting Fabian respond to my offer when you get a chance Sandy? Quote
Sandy Posted December 27, 2012 Author Posted December 27, 2012 I did as Endgame suggested, and marked the quests in the Index with the story archs they belong to. If any of you QMs wish to add or change something in the list, just say so. Speaking of the marketplace, do you mind letting Fabian respond to my offer when you get a chance Sandy? Sorry, it must've slipped by my eyes. I'll do it immediately. Quote
Endgame Posted December 27, 2012 Posted December 27, 2012 Looks good to me. Pat 1 of the Pandemonicon story arc, huh? I get the feeling the book will be very important to the future of Heroica... Quote

Zepher Posted December 27, 2012 Posted December 27, 2012 (edited) I'm not sure but I think Zepher's Chaos in Eubric #53 might have something to do with Wren too... Only time will tell, I guess. In case anyone hasn't figured it out yet, along with being the Final Wren Quest, I want 53 to be my love poem to all the other quests I found really inspiring. Can't fit them all in, but there are as many references as make sense! Purple and Sycamore make small cameo mentions, as do Ella and Tarn. Because other quests are awesome, and Chaos is a theme of all of Heroica. EDIT: Travel again today, and then as promised, a return to our regular programming. Responses should be up after travel (two to four hours) and then battles will be up later this evening (or tomorrow morning!) Edited December 27, 2012 by Zepher Quote
CorneliusMurdock Posted December 27, 2012 Posted December 27, 2012 Vipera doesn't forget Dragon Friends, eh? Cronk was dragon friend... And now I have to divide up this huge party. Quote
The Legonater Posted December 27, 2012 Posted December 27, 2012 (Same goes for you with Dyric's backstory, Leg, I really want Arthur to get to hear the whole story sometime, and for Dyric to get to hear Arthur's. ) Also, Thanks Zeph for paring me with Hans, forced me to think hard about Arthur's response (you know, given that Hans is a bit less of an archetype compared to the other NPCs; he's a regular guy, so really all there is to talk about with him are the everyday things, like shared experiences or odd observations about the present). It's helped me crystallize Arthur's mindset about himself and some of the other Heroes a little bit better. Really nice, unexpected push, Zeph. I picked your partners carefully!! They'll all respond tomorrow. I'm loving the responses - this is why I'm so happy with my Wren Questers. They are some of the most dedicated RPer's, which I understand isn't the point of the game for some people, but it is for me, and I love having all these people who pay a lot of attention and have really strong characters. So thank you all! I'm also trying flesh out some new relationships. I feel bad for this large of a group sometimes, because it's tough to talk with that many people. I want to let some personal relationships still develop even though the quest is fast-paced and action packed, because I assume that's why people like Wren. Total ditto. The Wren Quests have really begun to solidify Rone as a character for me. Going over his backstory for McColt only helped expand that. The way McColt asked the question allowed me to look at some angles of Rone I never really thought about, and it kind of struck me while writing my Flipz-sized post that Dyric and Arthur are actually a lot more similar then one would think- I mean, in a lot of ways, Dyric is kind of Arthur is reverse. Dyric kind of 'starts' out with a grey-and-grey approach to the world when he enters Heroica, but over time his experiences lead him to a more black-and-white approach, whereas Arthur did the opposite. I really can't wait for the two to meet up again and exchange stories. Quote

I really can't wait for the two to meet up again and exchange stories. Both are also exiles from their homelands, and both were exiled thanks to perceptions that they now embrace (Arthur because his people suspected him of Chaos use, and Dyric presumably because the new rulers thought in terms of black-and-white, which to them meant Rogues were automatically evil). Actually, that helmet you mentioned in Grogmas Gifts--whether it has the stated effect or not--would be a great way to get Arthur and Dyric talking. Quote
CMP Posted December 27, 2012 Posted December 27, 2012 Even if half of these Grogmas Gifts don't get put into the game, they're giving me some really good ideas for new items. Quote

Well when I finally get my Duplovian Quest up (No pressure, Masked ) I guess I could incorporate a few of my Duplovian items. Quote
Pandora Posted December 27, 2012 Posted December 27, 2012 Sorry Zeph, I don't mean to be a pain but my gold should be 50, not 40, and the Spider Leg that Flipz lent me is suitable for Nyx as she's part Barbarian (although I'm sure that's just a C&P thing). Also, shouldn't Poletad have full Ether, as despite kindly healing Nyx, she has Natural Respite (which I should have put on my stats page) so she was technically already at full health? Sorry, nit-picky I know, and I appreciate that you're wrangling a load of heroes and NPCs right now (and heaven help you for the battles now you've expanded and split the parties). Quote

Should have checked. And yes, that's copy and paste, I'll fix both those problems!! Poletad is silly. He healed you anyway. Deal with it. And just you wait!! I'm going to make it harder and harder on my self. But I promise the quest is going to be awesome. Quote

Brickdoctor Posted December 28, 2012 Posted December 28, 2012 Are teams allowed to fight in the Arena? Could make things a lot more interesting... I think we were working on it. Once we finalize the new set of more balanced rules (Aims will not be more powerful than Critical Hits ), then we can tweak them for team battles if necessary. Quote
Flare Posted December 28, 2012 Posted December 28, 2012 My quest looks so less important now because it isn't in a story arch Is it possible to have a 1-quest story arch? (just joking ) Quote
Flipz Posted December 28, 2012 Posted December 28, 2012 My quest looks so less important now because it isn't in a story arch Is it possible to have a 1-quest story arch? (just joking ) Speaking of your Quest, is it just me, or do your damage calculations for this past Round seem off? I think the werewolf should have lost more health, and Bob less. Also, because it'll bug me to death if I don't bring it up: the term is 'arc', not 'arch'. Now, back on-topic: it just became apparent to me how few people in the party Arthur actually trusts. This saddens me; not because of his tensions with the other player-controlled characters, but because out of all of Zeph's wonderful NPCs there are two, perhaps three he's actually comfortable talking to. Even the Gray Wizard, one of his role models, is someone to be watched with a wary eye, just because he's so Haldor-like about his authority. It makes me sad that Arthur's likely to miss out on the interactions that could be, simply because he doesn't like anyone who's there to talk to. Quote
Scorpiox Posted December 28, 2012 Posted December 28, 2012 It makes me sad that Arthur's likely to miss out on the interactions that could be, simply because he doesn't like anyone who's there to talk to. Maybe there is a reason for that... But seriously, it's more fun for everyone if Arthur interacts with players, not just the NPCs. And part of the reason that I think that people don't tend to like talking to Arthur is because of his 1000 word walls of text. Yes, they are deep and interesting, but a post of that size is nigh impossible to respond to, which kills the conversation dead. And not every character enjoys turning up to be lectured about chaos and the bloody grey (Literally the most annoying subject in Heroica. ). Just something to consider. Quote
