PsyKater Posted December 29, 2012 Posted December 29, 2012 Basic question: are we supposed to update the Stats during a battle, after a battle or after a quest? Quote
-obelix- Posted December 29, 2012 Posted December 29, 2012 There is no point in updating your stats during a battle since the changes are rather quick and not permanent. I tend to update Thalion stats whenever I find the time and something that happened made a permanent change, which could be after a battle during a quest, or after a quest. Quote
Endgame Posted December 29, 2012 Posted December 29, 2012 Considering the most up-to-date version of my stats is in the quest thread, I typically just update after a quest is done. Quote
Sandy Posted December 29, 2012 Author Posted December 29, 2012 Basic question: are we supposed to update the Stats during a battle, after a battle or after a quest? You should update your Stats every time you leave a quest, and after every visit to the Marketplace. Quote
Brickdoctor Posted December 29, 2012 Posted December 29, 2012 Where do the hero's stay? Not all hero's are swimming in gold so some wouldn't be able to afford to stay anywhere. Even then I'd guess most would rather pay for a weapon upgrade before paying for a place to sleep. Way back when Heroica first started, I remember that I asked if there were other rooms in Heroica Hall, such as bedrooms, stable or armory. Sandy said that there were other rooms, but they're off-limits to heroes, who stay at their own houses or at an inn. Quote
TheBoyWonder Posted December 29, 2012 Posted December 29, 2012 Or in Lycans case, in a dark alley. Quote
PsyKater Posted December 29, 2012 Posted December 29, 2012 You should update your Stats every time you leave a quest, and after every visit to the Marketplace. Thanks for clarification. Regarding the discussion about ooc in quests (Zepher, -obelix-, etc): In my opinion it depends on the topic the ooc is about. ooc discussion about battle order or the stats are both helpful and interesting for everybody, so I think it is good to be in the quest. But offtopic ooc should not be there as it disturbs the story. And there should not be to much ooc at all. Just my 2ct, but I'd be happy for a discussion. Quote
Zepher Posted December 29, 2012 Posted December 29, 2012 Oh absolutely it's useful, and quick one off jokes don't bother me either. It's whole conversations, post after post, that bother me, or lengthy explanation of what your character wants. The ones about who everyone should target are often in OoC too, which confuses me because they could just as easily be in character, unless for some reason you want your character to be notoriously bad at battle planning. Sorry, busy day today, you'll get an update at some point, questies! Quote
Rumble Strike Posted December 29, 2012 Posted December 29, 2012 I bet Tarn would be pleased if Haldor were to accidently murder the Emperor, and with Haldor's recent luck, there is a very real chance of that happening. Tarn is not a political guy, and Emperor Victor is also one of Tarn's friends, and a man Tarn both respects and admires, so please try to keep him alive! Quote
The Legonater Posted December 29, 2012 Posted December 29, 2012 Umm, at their own homes? The heroes are citizens of Eubric, after all (or immigrants who have moved there at some point), they should have houses of their own. It's up to everyone to figure out where their character lives, anyway. As an example, my character Ellaria helps out an old pharmacist in exchange for a room above the apotechary. It doesn't help when some heroes were dirt-poor when they arrived at Heroica I've always imagined Dyric being that one guy who just kind of sleeps in a chair, feet up on his table anyways. No idea why, though. Quote

I think that's a problem with several rogues. I don't think Atramor's ever fallen asleep not at the bar in Scheherezade's saloon. Edited December 29, 2012 by CallMePie Quote
posades Posted December 29, 2012 Posted December 29, 2012 Great little build, skyrimguy! And even if that room isn't in the Hall, it makes for a great apartment that the Captain is renting in the city. I think it would be awesome if we saw each character's "home base" in a little MOC, would flesh out their present day personality/situation. Quote

Really nice idea, but I tell you already: for my you need to wait quite a while I'd like to see where live Arthur, Ellaria, Lord Boominghan, Pretzel, Guts and Barty Nice word skyrimguy . I keep a picture of where Monk Pretzel lives in my signature. Quote

Oh, not for the politics. But with Phil out of the way, Tarn has a clear road through to Ella and marrying into the nobility. Quote
Capt.JohnPaul Posted December 29, 2012 Posted December 29, 2012 I remember the old days, sleeping in the hall, with a loaded crossbow. Quote
Sandy Posted December 29, 2012 Author Posted December 29, 2012 Here they are, the two new expert job classes created by Zepher and JimButcher! Both of them are now posted on the Training Room, and they become available to any character with 30 or more levels who also fulfil the special requirements. Quote
CMP Posted December 29, 2012 Posted December 29, 2012 (edited) Awesome. How long does Pessimism's Jinxed effect last? The rest of the battle? Also, what happens when an Orderly Regulator uses a light elemental weapon, or a Chaotic one uses darkness? Do their elemental multipliers stack? (ie, x4 to Demons and Undead on Orderly using light) Edited December 29, 2012 by CallMePie Quote

Also, what happens when an Orderly Regulator uses a light elemental weapon, or a Chaotic one uses darkness? Do their elemental multipliers stack? (ie, x4 to Demons and Undead on Orderly using light) The Jinxed-effect lasts the remainder of the battle, as usual. You can't have "doubly light-elemental" attacks, I thought this was a given. The attacks have just the usual multiplier in the case of your example. Quote
Pyrovisionary Posted December 29, 2012 Posted December 29, 2012 (edited) All these new classes, Impossible to get seeing as the final battle with Wren is now. Nevermind. New quests will come. And with new quests, new classes On another note, something I'd absolutely Love to see in heroica is a sort of stealth/tactics problem. I've been playing too many assassin games lately. What would be nice to see in a mission is ; A: Players infiltrating a castle or hostile fortified area. B: Guard patrols and movements i.e shift changes etc. C: Cover being used to sneak around. D: Multiple outcomes. Edited December 29, 2012 by Skyrimguy Quote
