Capt.JohnPaul Posted December 30, 2012 Posted December 30, 2012 Wait a second, I just realized something. I thought Foog was Cornelius Murdock: is it Fugazi? Pay attention to the backstory! Quote
Endgame Posted December 30, 2012 Posted December 30, 2012 I've only been active on these forums for a year, dammit! I can see the eventual "Who is Foog?" title coming out of this... Quote
Palathadric Posted December 30, 2012 Posted December 30, 2012 It's an odd thing how I signed up for your first quest when I was already at Level 5. Now you're 3 Levels my senior. Quote
Pandora Posted December 30, 2012 Posted December 30, 2012 Wait a second, I just realized something. I thought Foog was Cornelius Murdock: is it Fugazi? ... really? Yes, Fugazi is also known as Foog and The Foog. I can see the eventual "Who is Foog?" title coming out of this... Uhm... it gets much less likely if you say that, though. Quote
Endgame Posted December 30, 2012 Posted December 30, 2012 ... really? Yes, Fugazi is also known as Foog and The Foog. For some reason I thought I saw it applied to Cronk and CM several times in this thread. I could've sworn I've seen a couple "Go bash (enemy Cronk was facing), Foog!" Maybe I just forgot how to read. Uhm... it gets much less likely if you say that, though. According to plan. The worst titles are the ones earned by stupidity: they are there to laugh at you every post you make! Quote
TheBoyWonder Posted December 30, 2012 Posted December 30, 2012 Sp:20 shields and WP24 life stealing daggers. This is getting crazy. Quote
The Legonater Posted December 30, 2012 Posted December 30, 2012 I keep forgetting my fellow party members aren't Lucky! Ahem. Quote
swils Posted December 30, 2012 Posted December 30, 2012 (edited) Sp:20 shields and WP24 life stealing daggers. This is getting crazy. It's terrifying watching the power creep. I always feel like I'm playing a huge game of catch-up. And then I remember that I have an artifact that is essentially a mithril upgrade that goes weapon-to-weapon, once I finally start my QM'ing career. E: And even with that, Thormy would still barely be able to scratch Docken. Edited December 30, 2012 by swils Quote
Palathadric Posted December 30, 2012 Posted December 30, 2012 ...so I head to Portia's and sell my Soma for 22 Gold, which leaves me with 1466 Gold. (1444+22=1466 Gold) "And I'd like one more thing done: enemies are growing more powerful; I've been Knocked Out a couple times recently. I'll give you this 900 Gold (160+170+180+190+200=900 Gold) to upgrade my shield to SP: 20." How the devil did Docken manage to amass almost 1500 gold without being a rogue! And SP: 20. Quote
Brickdoctor Posted December 30, 2012 Posted December 30, 2012 How the devil did Docken manage to amass almost 1500 gold without being a rogue! I haven't made a major purchase since just after Quest 14. Quote
Flipz Posted December 30, 2012 Posted December 30, 2012 (edited) How the devil did Docken manage to amass almost 1500 gold without being a rogue! And SP: 20. Back-alley deals. EDIT: Psst, Flare, Erdy and Sarge should no longer be Sealed, thanks to her Roots of Life. Edited December 30, 2012 by Flipz Quote
Zepher Posted December 30, 2012 Posted December 30, 2012 It's terrifying watching the power creep. I always feel like I'm playing a huge game of catch-up. Yeah, tell me about it. It's scary how many people who started playing AFTER me are very far ahead of me. How'd that happen?! Quote
swils Posted December 30, 2012 Posted December 30, 2012 Yeah, tell me about it. It's scary how many people who started playing AFTER me are very far ahead of me. How'd that happen?! Refer to that bit I said the other day about certain QM's I'd really like to quest under. Plus, activity. I know that, for example, I had the chance to tag along with Q51 (or, at least, to toss my name in the hat for it). It was a short quest, but somehow Flipz racked up well over 500 gold (while others' gold gains from the quest were closer to 100-200 gold). I didn't look into why, but obviously there was the opportunity to profit there. Had I not been trying to salvage my semester during that time, that would have been a great little quest to bide the time that I passed up on. Little things like that can really add up in the long run. Quote
CMP Posted December 30, 2012 Posted December 30, 2012 Yeah, tell me about it. It's scary how many people who started playing AFTER me are very far ahead of me. How'd that happen?! It's the Quests. There was a 9 Quest gap between Atramor's first and second, which is why I think he's a bit behind experience wise. Quote
Endgame Posted December 30, 2012 Posted December 30, 2012 Overkill gloves are by far the favorite item I've created - I hope somebody scoops a pair up! Quote
CMP Posted December 30, 2012 Posted December 30, 2012 Dang, I need one of those Emerald Hoods. TheBoyWonder, if you're still planning on going Witch, would you consider trading a Witch's Talisman for one of them? You'd be saving over 100 gold. It's the original one, too. Quote
Scorpiox Posted December 30, 2012 Posted December 30, 2012 It's the Quests. There was a 9 Quest gap between Atramor's first and second, which is why I think he's a bit behind experience wise. 'Behind experiance-wise'? At level 22, Atramor is in the top-end of character levels... Quote
Endgame Posted December 30, 2012 Posted December 30, 2012 It's the original one, too. Does Fabian have Baba on speed-dial or something? Where is he getting those talismans? Quote

Little things like that can really add up in the long run. Yeah, some QMs just run quicker quests than others. WBD and Sandy and Scuba are all fantastic, and I LOVE questing under them (keep signing up), but Endgame and Bd fit more battles in because they update way more regularly. CMP was a quick battle runner too (if another CMP quest goes up, I'll be there hopefully). Arthur is a rogue variant now. They will ALWAYS have more gold than anyone else. Quote
CMP Posted December 30, 2012 Posted December 30, 2012 'Behind experiance-wise'? At level 22, Atramor is in the top-end of character levels... I did say a bit. I'm comparing against characters who were in the first three or so and have been doing Quests non-stop. Tesni's nearly level 30 already. It's also the content of Quests. Some of them are battle heavy, some aren't. For example, someone who's been in the Fields for a month likely has more experience than a hero who's been on a Quest in that same time. All a matter of what Quests you sign up for, though obviously the EXP isn't everything when it comes to those. Quote
Zepher Posted December 30, 2012 Posted December 30, 2012 I might be willing to purchase the overkill gloves off someone... if they mark they haggle for them, and then sell them to me at the haggled price. I've never done this before (asking others to buy stuff for you from other quests seems sort of lame sometimes) but Boomingham is GREEDY and it's hard to make him so without an item that gains him money. Quote
Endgame Posted December 30, 2012 Posted December 30, 2012 but Endgame and Bd fit more battles in because they update way more regularly. Yeah, if I knew that I wasn't going to be able to chug at a speedy pace, 48 would only be Rhodus - I mean, I don't want to hold on to my questies in for 8 months. 48 is going to be the longest quest by far, apparently: I mean, it is almost the longest quest right now, and they are only about 2/3 of the way there. Please bear with me for another month or two, 48ers! Quote
Zepher Posted December 30, 2012 Posted December 30, 2012 You give them enough to do, and people are generally okay with it. I would also like to take back my plea for overkill gloves. I'd miss counterstriking too much, and I keep my idea that part of the perk of going on a quest is being the only person (people) who get access to the cool shops there. Now, if anyone can find me some overkill boots at a reasonable price.... Quote

Please bear with me for another month or two, 48ers! Long Quests are okay in my book as long as the heroes have a good bit of freedom. Having shops and friendly NPCs to chat with like you have helps out considerably. CMP was a quick battle runner too (if another CMP quest goes up, I'll be there hopefully). Just tossing around ideas in my head at the moment. Boomingham would love the most recent one. I might be willing to purchase the overkill gloves off someone... if they mark they haggle for them, and then sell them to me at the haggled price. I've never done this before (asking others to buy stuff for you from other quests seems sort of lame sometimes) but Boomingham is GREEDY and it's hard to make him so without an item that gains him money. You pull it off considerably well. He's greedier than half the Rogues, and the fact that it's based in roleplaying rather than his actual class is really cool. Quote
TheBoyWonder Posted December 30, 2012 Posted December 30, 2012 Sorry, but not intrested in witch. Just had a better idea seeing the scarlet hood. Quote
