Waterbrick Down Posted October 29, 2011 Posted October 29, 2011 WBD, What are the letters in the first word? Not the real letters but the ones shown, I'm not sure if they are l's or i's I've fixed the text font to hopefully solve the issue, sorry about the confusion. Quote
soccerkid6 Posted October 29, 2011 Posted October 29, 2011 Ok, thanks. Yeah I didn't realize those were capital I's until I actually copy and pasted it from the post. Quote
Peanuts Posted October 29, 2011 Posted October 29, 2011 I just asked this in the thread of Quest #7, but to be sure, I'll also ask it here: If I attack from the back row and roll shield, will the amount of gold I recieve also be halved? Quote
JimBee Posted October 29, 2011 Posted October 29, 2011 I'm not Sandy, but I would argue that you receive half the amount of gold as well. If you look at the class description on Rogues, the key is in the wording: The rogue gains gold in an amount equal to the strength of the strike. That would imply whatever damage you did to the enemy is how much gold you get. So I guess that also means if you attack with a throwing weapon from the back row, you'd get more gold if you rolled Mug than if you had with a short-ranged weapon. Quote
Zepher Posted October 29, 2011 Posted October 29, 2011 Looks to me like you're right Mr. Butcher! Thanks! Quote

I'll have to change my decision then. Thanks anyway. Quote

Bioniclover Posted October 30, 2011 Posted October 30, 2011 I find it silly of me that I technically joined Heroica quite a while ago but never got around to actually jumping in. But since Kadabra just took new pics of both our characters, (And there's an open Quest!) I figured now'd be as good a time as ever to actually start playing. Quote
Sandy Posted October 30, 2011 Author Posted October 30, 2011 New pic! If it was less blurry, I could make a proper avatar for you, in the size of 100x100 pixels. Here's an avatar-sized pic of your character: Quote
Kadabra Posted October 30, 2011 Posted October 30, 2011 Hmmm... Because I'm a total noob at Photoshop, whenever I try to make it 100x100 it comes out like this: (74x100) Will that work? Nice to see you finally gettong in on the fun bro, I'm already Questing Quote
Bricksandparts Posted October 30, 2011 Posted October 30, 2011 Sandy, Is there currently a name for lego's Orc nation I would like to know so that I can correctly name the group, for they will be a major part in one of my future quests. this Shield's group, in other words Quote
Sandy Posted October 30, 2011 Author Posted October 30, 2011 Sandy, Is there currently a name for lego's Orc nation Yes, the land is called Baltarok. It has been described in the Library-topic: "Ah, the subject of Orcs rises again. As I have said, the orcs and their kin hail from far west, in the barren and deserted lands that are known to orcs as Baltarok, the Land of Tarok the Destroyer. It is not an unified kingdom as one might think, but a wasteland governed by various savage tribes of orcs, ogres and goblins. Water and nutrition is scarce there, which I imagine was the main motivation to attempt to invade the High Kingdoms. The orc calling himself Tarokai, "the son of the god Tarok", managed to rally most of the tribes and rise to become the Orc King. At least to my knowledge there has not been another orcish king before or after Tarokai. Many of the "greenskins", as they are mockingly called, live under slavery or poverty in the lands around the Crystalline Sea, but I hear the ones still residing in Baltorak have begun to build towns and forts into the desert. This goes to proof that civilization can bloom even in the harshest of environments." "As far as the other races living with the orcs in Baltorak go, it seems their relationship is similar to that of humans, elves, halflings and dwarves. There is often animosity between the hulking ogres and the diminutive goblins, for example, but when faced with a common enemy they can band together to fight it. Some say trolls are related to the orcs as well, but in truth they are more solitary creatures, lurking in dark caves and forests. However, evidently there were several trolls in the orcish army during the invasion." Quote
Scorpiox Posted October 30, 2011 Posted October 30, 2011 (edited) EDIT: Too slow! Edited October 30, 2011 by Scorpiox Quote
Bricksandparts Posted October 30, 2011 Posted October 30, 2011 Would the Baltorak live on isolated islands to test out experiments? I don't want to ask too many questions, or otherwise people will know hat happens in the quest. Quote
Kadabra Posted October 30, 2011 Posted October 30, 2011 (edited) As I understand it, Baltorak is a wasteland to the west of Ennon, a vast desert or volcanic region. I actually plan on hosting a Quest there as soon as Arasmyth finishes Quest 9: Trespassers, which is the reason Arasmyth inquired about orcs in the library, earning me the information above. Edited October 30, 2011 by Kadabra Quote
Sandy Posted October 30, 2011 Author Posted October 30, 2011 Whoops, I just noticed I have misspelled the god Tarok as "Torak" in the description, which means the name of the land is wrong as well. It should be Baltarok, not Baltorak. Would the Baltorak live on isolated islands to test out experiments? I don't want to ask too many questions, or otherwise people will know hat happens in the quest. Baltarok is the name of the wasteland that the orcs originate from. But of course you can have island-living orcs as well. Quote
Bricksandparts Posted October 30, 2011 Posted October 30, 2011 So sandy, I could probably come up with some orc names, but what would be some good names for high ranking Orc commandos, or Dictators/leaders Quote
Kadabra Posted October 30, 2011 Posted October 30, 2011 (edited) Just make stuff up Cornelius Murdock and Lordofdragonss probably didn't ask Sandy when they named their characters, and I know Bioniclover didn't. None of the NPCs in my Quest-in-the-works have names I needed to consult Sandy for either. Edited October 30, 2011 by Kadabra Quote
Bricksandparts Posted October 30, 2011 Posted October 30, 2011 And I know, There is only one known leader, But I mean for like A vice-leader, sorta. I think you know what I mean. Quote
Sandy Posted October 30, 2011 Author Posted October 30, 2011 So sandy, I could probably come up with some orc names, but what would be some good names for high ranking Orc commandos, or Dictators/leaders It's up to you, really. Sorry for being this unhelpful, but I want people to use their own creativity as well, not just lean on my opinions. I honestly have enough stuff going on without having to make up orcish names for you, sorry. I hope you understand... Quote
Scorpiox Posted October 30, 2011 Posted October 30, 2011 (edited) I'd look to the Lord of the Rings books and films. There are many great orc names like Lurtz, Gothmog and Ugluk. EDIT: Damn! Beaten again! Edited October 30, 2011 by Scorpiox Quote

That's where I got my orc name inspirations too I'd recommend using harsh sounds like K, hard C, hard G, T, and Z. Edited October 30, 2011 by Kadabra Quote
Bricksandparts Posted October 30, 2011 Posted October 30, 2011 how about, Dakasnaga? I think this is an OK name. I actually just searched Orc names on the web... Well, thanks for the feedback! I might need some more help later. Quote
