Flipz Posted January 4, 2013 Posted January 4, 2013 Continuity error, Arthur already sold that dagger to Anwyl. He got a replacement. When you're dealing with a Quest idea thought up in 3 days you've got to work with what you've got. Besides the dice were against William in his attempt to steal it, maybe if he was rogue... And the lesson here is: put people to sleep and bind and gag them before you pilfer their stuff. And then examine it with one of every tool and the Cloak of the Elven Spy just to make sure it's safe before you try to take it. No. You are nowhere near Edgeworth. You don't follow the rules. You have no strict sense of honour and you don't wear a TRIPLE cravat. (And yes. The Ace Attorney series is awesome.) Well, the first is true from an outsider's perspective, but I'd disagree with the second; Arthur DOES have a strict sense of honor, he just follows a very weird and obscure set of rules defining it (Blue and Orange Morality). And as to the cravat...well, it's not a cravat, but Arthur's vest-thing is pretty awesome, if I do say so myself. Also, this is purely related to 53, but it's completely OOC and unrelated to battle summary, so: someone buy a few Ether Cores! We're really going to want them later. Quote
Flare Posted January 4, 2013 Posted January 4, 2013 Flare, out of curiosity what expert class are you planning for Benji? I think he'd make a cool Cannoneer with those weapons, but with his reputation you could go a lot of different ways. How did he get a great reputation with the Wolfgang, anyway? He failed the Violetta Quest, and he pulled...something on Quest 44. He hasn't said what, but I'm pretty sure Benji's in-character explanation was lies. In other news, Arthur's on the verge of realizing he sucks at following the philosophy he's picked out for himself. For one thing, if he were truly a Master of Chaos, then he'd be able to take anything in stride--that's sort of the point. Add to that that a Chaos Master is supposed to be supportive and accepting of others, and soon you see just how far off-base he really is. Beast Warrior all the way Benji might seem like the innocent little ranger, but he has a much wilder side that was shown slightly when he was an assassin. As for the increased reputation from Quest 44... Quote
Scorpiox Posted January 4, 2013 Posted January 4, 2013 Arthur give Rone a funny look. "You and I seek similar things, I think, merely in different forms." Arthur sighs. "Sometimes pursuing destiny is painful. It has been so in my past, and I always thought it would be in my future, but somehow I didn't expect it to hit me so hard. I am still so weak in my craft. A mature user of Chaos would ride with the eddies of fate, be able to take disaster in stride...that is, after all, the whole point of the philosophy. And yet...I feel so...so powerless. And still to know, that, in the end, I must face her? That I, and I alone, am responsible for the redemption of all of Chaos, in the eyes of my supposed 'friends,' in the eyes of the world? I walk a lonely road, the only one that I have ever known. I don't know where it goes, but I'm the only one, and I walk alone. My path is an empty street upon the boulevard of broken dreams; all the while, the city sleeps in its ignorance, and I'm the only one, and I walk alone." "Many people are bothered by their...'inner darkness', their 'shadow side'. The part of them they think is negative. But that's the thing: so-called 'negative' aspects aren't in themselves good or bad; they're just...there. Natural. It's what we do with them that counts. As for me...my shadow's the only thing that walks beside me. My shallow heart's the only thing that's beating. Sometimes I'd wish someone out there would find me, and 'till then I'd walk alone. But now..." the Sorcerer looks to Alexis. "I've finally found someone who's happy to take me as I am, someone I can care about without fearing she'll rip my heart out, literally OR figuratively...and all I do is worry, and cry, and tear myself up with guilt and fear and anguish. I embraced Chaos to get away from judgement...especially self-judgement...so why am I still trapped in it?" I love how half of Arthur's speech was written by Green Day. Quote

Janek would be like; "Eenner darkness? Methinks that's eenner wind!" Still, good speach It saddens me how everyone is always going on about a dark power rising, or feeling wierd for some reason or another. Have we lost all orgininality? Sometimes, roleplaying can be nothing more than a big cliche. It's all destiny and fate these days. I guess every story has to have a grand finale though. Or is it? Scubacarrot Posted January 4, 2013 Posted January 4, 2013 Not going on about it being a cliche or not, but Quest 53 IS about a dark power rising. Quote
Pyrovisionary Posted January 4, 2013 Posted January 4, 2013 (edited) Exactly how it works the bedroll??? It allows you to go to sleep.. Unless you are a barbarian and have natural respite (In which case you don't need a bedroll anyway.) When you sleep you regain health. Edited January 4, 2013 by Skyrimguy Quote
Sandy Posted January 4, 2013 Author Posted January 4, 2013 Exactly how it works the bedroll??? It allows you to go to sleep.. Unless you are a barbarian and have natural respite (In which case you don't need a bedroll anyway.) When you sleep you regain health. Bedrolls allow the heroes to sleep at situations designated or approved by the Quest Master. You cannot usually sleep in a dungeon crawling with enemies, for example. Sleeping restores full health and ether. Quote
Zepher Posted January 4, 2013 Posted January 4, 2013 Sorry all, still fighting off this nasty fever-cold hybrid that came my way, but I'll update as soon as Nyx goes shopping! Quote

I agree with you, but Quest 53 is the finale to a Questline that's been revolving around this sort of stuff. If there's any place for this kind of roleplay, it's there. Quote

Flipz Posted January 4, 2013 Posted January 4, 2013 I love how half of Arthur's speech was written by Green Day. Arthur does have a tendency to be musical. If it weren't for Dragoons being a thing, I'd likely send him to Minstrel at some point. Quote
Zepher Posted January 4, 2013 Posted January 4, 2013 Thank you all, it does appear that I'm on the road to recovery, so the quest should be back up to speed as of tomorrow! We're going at a good pace so far.... coming up on the perma-KO part. Quote
CMP Posted January 4, 2013 Posted January 4, 2013 Glad to hear you're getting better, Zepher. Not so glad on that other part. Quote
Scorpiox Posted January 4, 2013 Posted January 4, 2013 I would have never noticed http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=tijW_SrCoxs Since Flipz has just made this thing fair-game, it shall become my task to fit in as many obscure Bowie lyrics as possible. Quote
TheBoyWonder Posted January 4, 2013 Posted January 4, 2013 Three days Grace lyrics. That's my plan. Everyone pick an artist to steal lyrics from. Quote
The Legonater Posted January 4, 2013 Posted January 4, 2013 Arthur opens and closes his mouth a couple times, unsure of what to say. Finally he nods[.] Scorpiox, I think we just out-Flipzed Flipz. Quote
Zepher Posted January 4, 2013 Posted January 4, 2013 Special thanks to Endgame for our most recent interlude! Gotta love those snarky Proggs. Now, I'm off to build an apothecary and my version of the Hovels. Well, it would seem to me we can expect to find little more than cats in boxes. An odd thought, but a non-threatening one all the same. Unless I'm wrong, of course. Or something. :roflmao: Quote
