The Legonater Posted January 9, 2013 Posted January 9, 2013 "Distraction..." Hoke thinks to himself... "If the Court is a distraction, then shouldn't we be suspect of how we first came to learn about the Court? The wanted posters in the Hall." Hoke whispered as quietly as he could to Arthur. We really are working up to a final battle in Heroica Hall, aren't we? Quote
Zepher Posted January 9, 2013 Posted January 9, 2013 Hasn't he been attacking from the back row this entire fight? You need to mark that he's a complete moron that doesn't follow orders in his stats so the PL knows before they spend 5 or 6 rounds actually trying to strategize. I have been noting he doesn't fight from the back row. Each time he has been ordered to, he has not had a ">" next to his name, and his damage has been calculated as from the front row. Psh, you're lucky. At least protecting his suicidal butt isn't one of your Quest's goals. The Dastan Questies could have warned you. At least I've dropped his other "AI Directive" which was "attack most important person". He could have been alternatively wailing down on Zander this whole time. Again, I'm sorry these fights are hard guys, but I'm not straying from the set-up that would have been had you split only two ways. Also, get the frustration out in character!!! I feel bad that you guys are frustrated, so I prefer to see your characters doing it. It's a selfish request, but a request all the same. Quote

Ouch... >_< That said, it IS getting to the point of "if I have to sacrifice something to save his life...I won't." / "he's Too Dumb To Live, the Fearless Fool." In fact, just go ahead and list him as "dead" now in the NPC index, he's clearly getting a Darwin Award at some point by the end of the Quest. Quote
The_Customizer Posted January 9, 2013 Posted January 9, 2013 Well I've got a long way to go in my current quest (I don't think we'll make it back for the Wren Finale), but like swils said, so does the current FoG party. When I get back and if Erdy is still around, I'd like to go on the trip. Ok, it will probably depend on when the current group gets back, and what Quests are currently available. Would go, especially if there's no quest active, but forget it. Those guys are not leaving there anytime soon, and I hope we won't have to wait for them to leave before another quest is available to sign-up for. Agreed, I'll wait to see what they are doing. You'll probably have to hang out at the Hall for awhile, as I believe we're planning to clear as many zones as we are able to before we leave. That said, if you're still looking to take a trip through the Fields whenever we do finish up, I'd be happy to tag along again! Unless, of course, it would cause me to miss a +Shadeaux, quest Yeah, the sooner you guys finish up, the better! Quote
Endgame Posted January 9, 2013 Posted January 9, 2013 De'kra-- I don't have a lot of time, but here's a long story made short: the city of Eubric is as great as it is because of a number of Doors of Chaos that have been left just slightly open, so that a little Chaos is let in (enough to make life possible and even thrive) but not enough to cause disaster. Wren wants to open these doors. I...I think one of them is within the Hall. I want you to stay on guard. Keep the Heroes inside safe, and be ready--ready to fight, or ready to lead the others to safety. Either way, there will not be much time, so be safe--safe and swift. Wren threatens our Unity, confuses and obscures our Duty, and tries to usurp our Destiny--but we must and will stop her. I have faith in you, De'kra: you are, truly, the Hero and guardian this city--no, the entire Free Islands--needs. --Arthur One mystery in fiction I'll never solve: Stammering... in a letter? Quote

Mostly I've checked the the NPCs' health and if they didn't die, they could fight again. So I guess I should be paying more attention myself. Damn Phil. Cronk will have some choice words for him after the battle... if we survive it. Quote
Flare Posted January 9, 2013 Posted January 9, 2013 Poor Pretzel, even with the mushroom he'd be half a level from 15... Buahahah *Finger hovers over the 'ban Zepher' button* First me, then Zepher, how many Quest Masters will be banned before the end of the week... Quote
Zepher Posted January 9, 2013 Posted January 9, 2013 CM's anger is directed at you because of me too. I stole a special from your quest... and he's not a fan of it! Quote

TheBoyWonder Posted January 9, 2013 Posted January 9, 2013 If your Character became a Beast Warrior, what animal would it be? I'm aiming for beast Warrior on both characters, Wolf and Eagle for me. Quote
Rumble Strike Posted January 9, 2013 Posted January 9, 2013 (edited) What classes should a trident be suitable for? It's not specifically listed as a weapon. Also the smaller "handaxe"? Edited January 9, 2013 by Rumble Strike Quote
Scubacarrot Posted January 9, 2013 Posted January 9, 2013 The larger axe you could classify as either an axe or a polearm, the smaller is just an axe, the trident I'd say is a polearm as well. Quote
UsernameMDM Posted January 9, 2013 Posted January 9, 2013 Trident = spear. All axes = axes. Unless you make it a throwing axe, then it's a throwing weapon. Quote
UsernameMDM Posted January 9, 2013 Posted January 9, 2013 Halberd = axe to me. You stab with a trident, like a spear. When classifying weapons, it's best to apply the main function (stab, cut, blunt, or projectile). Quote
Scubacarrot Posted January 9, 2013 Posted January 9, 2013 I meant the large axe, and I'd say a halberd classifies as a polearm. Quote
UsernameMDM Posted January 9, 2013 Posted January 9, 2013 I meant the large axe, and I'd say a halberd classifies as a polearm. Well, after looking at the rules, halberd is already a weapon class, so anything that would be a polearm should be a halberd. I see what you are saying now. Quote
Etzel Posted January 9, 2013 Posted January 9, 2013 What classes should a trident be suitable for? It's not specifically listed as a weapon. Also the smaller "handaxe"? Too bad none of the weapons are suitable for Nerwen. Clerics can only use blunt weapons. Quote
Sandy Posted January 9, 2013 Author Posted January 9, 2013 Axes and halberds are two different weapon types in this game. "Axes" are cutting blades with handles, while "halberds" are cutting blades on poles. "Spears" are stabbing blades on poles, while "lances" are sharpened poles. By these classifications, tridents are spears. Quote
Flipz Posted January 9, 2013 Posted January 9, 2013 Spears are sadly under-utilized, sadly. Halberds, too. Quote
Rumble Strike Posted January 9, 2013 Posted January 9, 2013 Tarn's original weapon was a halberd, then he was given a battle axe but I never changed the look. Quote
Flipz Posted January 9, 2013 Posted January 9, 2013 Ah. Also, the singular of "staves" is "staff". [/grammarmodeON!] Quote
Rumble Strike Posted January 9, 2013 Posted January 9, 2013 Yeah I changed it as it didn't look right! Quote
Pandora Posted January 9, 2013 Posted January 9, 2013 If anyone in the Apothecary in Quest 53 can manage to pick up a couple of Meads for Nyx while they're there I'd be most grateful, and she'll obviously pay back the 20 gold. I'm sure some communication via Vipera from Nyx's currently unconscious brain will cover the continuity issues. Thanks. Quote

Just a nice little boat he could retire to after a long adventure and maybe do some peaceful fishing. Quote
