PsyKater Posted January 11, 2013 Posted January 11, 2013 @Capt.JohnPaul: just to get timezones correct: what does "in the afternoon" mean? i.e. How late is it now? QM Note: To herjj's question in R&D, afternoon-evening I mean East coast USA. Well, good morning then. I wanted to ask the same as well. Quite a difference then (9h). Quote
The Legonater Posted January 11, 2013 Posted January 11, 2013 Zepher too. I can't seem to put anyone to sleep! Are you kidding, I love all this gold and assassinations I'm racking up! Quote
CorneliusMurdock Posted January 11, 2013 Posted January 11, 2013 Are you kidding, I love all this gold and assassinations I'm racking up! I hate to break it to you but you just rolled damage twice. Quote
UsernameMDM Posted January 11, 2013 Posted January 11, 2013 Is health and ether supposed to be fully restored when a player gains a level? Quote
Scubacarrot Posted January 11, 2013 Posted January 11, 2013 Is health and ether supposed to be fully restored when a player gains a level? Nope. Quote
The Legonater Posted January 11, 2013 Posted January 11, 2013 I hate to break it to you but you just rolled damage twice. Besides that. Quote
CorneliusMurdock Posted January 11, 2013 Posted January 11, 2013 Besides that. Weren't you KO'd already this battle? You're right, besides all the terrible rolls we've gotten, there've been a few that haven't actually killed us all. Quote
Sandy Posted January 11, 2013 Author Posted January 11, 2013 Is health and ether supposed to be fully restored when a player gains a level? No. You only add the +1 point to both the current value and the maximum value. Quote
Zepher Posted January 11, 2013 Posted January 11, 2013 Zepher too. I can't seem to put anyone to sleep! How now, a nice number of those fellows are taking a snooze right now. At least you've been rolling shields. Guardian Angel would really help us right about now. And she has arrived... though I'm afraid probably not in the fashion you expected. Don't forget about the Magician... Weren't you KO'd already this battle? You're right, besides all the terrible rolls we've gotten, there've been a few that haven't actually killed us all. You guys are alive! And since one party lived, the quest won't fail now. I personally think both parties have got this in the bag. Quote
CorneliusMurdock Posted January 11, 2013 Posted January 11, 2013 And she has arrived... though I'm afraid probably not in the fashion you expected. Don't forget about the Magician... How would the magician affect the angel? I don't see how the gaurdian angel would qualify as an AoE attack... But yes, it's nice to be protected for a round. Maybe we'll even all attack from the front row. Quote
Masked Builder Posted January 11, 2013 Posted January 11, 2013 How now, a nice number of those fellows are taking a snooze right now. Well I can't complain to much now. Quote
CorneliusMurdock Posted January 11, 2013 Posted January 11, 2013 Zepher, if you're saying that the Guardian Angel is an AoE effect, I'm sorry, but you're wrong. Effects are like Burn, Sleep, and Hex. So if Cronk hits, 39x2x2=156. And Cronk gets two opportunities! C'mon critical hit both times... Quote
CMP Posted January 11, 2013 Posted January 11, 2013 (edited) Zepher, if you're saying that the Guardian Angel is an AoE effect, I'm sorry, but you're wrong. Effects are like Burn, Sleep, and Hex. It is an AoE Shield, but it's directed towards the party, so the Magician's Passive shouldn't even come into play, I don't think. I think he means AoE in that it affects the entire enemy (or in this case, the heroes') party. Edited January 11, 2013 by CallMePie Quote
Flipz Posted January 11, 2013 Posted January 11, 2013 Yeah, there's no way the Magician should affect Guardian Angel. On the plus side...the Magician isn't Jinxed. Quote
CMP Posted January 11, 2013 Posted January 11, 2013 Is it just me, or is the unlimited quest moving along slowly... Just wait until you hit the harder battles. I promise things will go a lot faster... Well, you won't be able to pull any drawn-out counterstriking strategies, you'll be too busy fighting to kill enemies as fast as possible for your lives. Hopefully. Quote
CorneliusMurdock Posted January 11, 2013 Posted January 11, 2013 What I'm saying is that it isn't an "effect". The shield doesn't grant the entire party the "protected effect" the next round, it just protects them. The magician only comes into play with attacks and effects and the angel is neither. Quote

That's what I'm saying too, I thought you just meant that you thought the Magicians was specifically for AoE effects, not for AoE that affects the entire enemy party. Quote
Zepher Posted January 11, 2013 Posted January 11, 2013 Alright, I intended it to affect Guardian Angel, but the argument against it is sound, so assume its for the whole party! Quote
Tanma Posted January 12, 2013 Posted January 12, 2013 De'kra replied to Arthur by the way, if you missed it. Quote
Flipz Posted January 12, 2013 Posted January 12, 2013 I saw, but Arthur can't check the book IC at this time. Wow, REALLY slow day in Heroica today. I went to Disneyland and had less than two dozen posts to read by the time I got back... Quote
CMP Posted January 12, 2013 Posted January 12, 2013 Well, whether we win or lose this battle, Atramor's going to have quite a bit to say when it's over. And our chances are surprisingly decent. Quote
Scubacarrot Posted January 12, 2013 Posted January 12, 2013 Hypothetical question: If a Paladin was Sealed, would he be able to do Guardian Angel? Quote
Sandy Posted January 12, 2013 Author Posted January 12, 2013 Hypothetical question: If a Paladin was Sealed, would he be able to do Guardian Angel? Of course. Sealed only affects casting spells and healing. The Guardian Angel is a separate entity from the hero. Quote
Scubacarrot Posted January 12, 2013 Posted January 12, 2013 This battle is much better now, the stag and priestess and the specials that summon new enemies in are still terrifying, but it's actually doable now, I think! I am so excited to see what the shackles do! Quote
Brickdoctor Posted January 12, 2013 Posted January 12, 2013 I am so excited to see what the shackles do! How do the Shackles work, anyways? Are they like a consumable that you can use on Sorona to prevent her from fleeing when defeated? Quote
