Scubacarrot Posted January 13, 2013 Posted January 13, 2013 Why? There's no way we can kill Sorona in one turn, and she is immune to instant kills, so... Quote
Rumble Strike Posted January 13, 2013 Posted January 13, 2013 I have to admit, I see the Shackles as being a one-shot consumable item, which to me makes sense. Quote
Sandy Posted January 13, 2013 Author Posted January 13, 2013 I have to admit, I see the Shackles as being a one-shot consumable item, which to me makes sense. Uh, no... The Shackles of War are an artifact that prevents anyone from fleeing the battle when they are equipped - friend or foe. You can't change the descriptions of common items to your liking, sorry. Quote
Rumble Strike Posted January 13, 2013 Posted January 13, 2013 Not trying to change anything Sandy, just calling it how I see it. As ever, your ruling is how it shall be. Interesting that it stops both the enemies and the party from fleeing, will make it tactical in use. Quote

The shackles could've been useful for the fields (dumb fleeing bunnies!) Quote
Flare Posted January 13, 2013 Posted January 13, 2013 Do you guys think that there will be a need in the upcoming couple months of a quest for low-level heroes? I have an idea in mind for another quest... ... I'd like to host newbies this time, because it doesn't seem that there aren't enough quests that are really accessible to them. Although it seems that most of them are gone in Cap'n's quest ATM. Quote

Endgame Posted January 13, 2013 Posted January 13, 2013 (edited) Polly the Patch-Eyed, King of the Pirate Parrots Level 11 Flying Vermin HP: 1500/1500 SP: 6 Specials: Squawk Signal: With a loud squawk, Polly calls in his parrot shipmates. They proceed to peck away at the hero who rolled Special Damage, the hero taking an automatic 9 damage (disregarding SP) at the end of every round until Polly is defeated. Cutlass Cleaver: Polly swings his mighty cutlass, doing 19 damage to all heroes. Polly Want A Cracker: The parrot cabin-boy delivers Polly a cracker, which the parrot pirate king eagerly gobbles up: Polly regains 400 HP. Passive Specials: Repeat: This parrot doesn't mimic words, he mimics fighting stlyes! Rolls of damage mimic that hero's shield skill. Drops: Parrot Crackers x3 (Consumable, +2 to Max HP), Giant Cutlass (Greatsword, WP: 16), 200 gold Edited January 13, 2013 by Endgame Quote

I don't think they would've made that much of a difference. 1 GP isn't a huge amount; I'd rather have the couple of Rounds saved by not having to kill another rabbit. Quote

Sandy Posted January 13, 2013 Author Posted January 13, 2013 Question: can non-Unlimited Quests quests give Glory Points for those party members to redeem later (if they ever manage to squeak their way into the fields?) No, the points are exclusive to the Fields and must not be handed out as rewards in other quests. Quote
TheBoyWonder Posted January 13, 2013 Posted January 13, 2013 Endgame, I have to ask, what on earth where you thinking? Making an enemy hastened and with a special that does 19 damage, after we've just taken down his tentacles, and its cost us quite a few phoenix essences. I don't like critiscing QMs, and I've loved your battles, but this one is just a bit out of order. Quote

Play conservatively: this is a boss fight, after all, it is meant to be tougher then the average battle! If you play from the back row the most you can take is 8 damage from the special and 14 damage from his damage roll: both can be remedied in a turn by a helper (of which you have 2 of) or a potion. Don't forget, you also have a hero whose Shield Roll is basically a Phoenix Incense: it hasn't helped you out much thus far, though. Also, both Alex and Sylph are lucky, so the chances of a Guardian Angel or a Roots of Life is moderately high. Edited January 13, 2013 by Endgame Quote

You've got four Lucky heroes, greatly reducing the chance of Special Damage, and Alexandre can tank the Free Hit and only take 2 Damage. Quote
TheBoyWonder Posted January 13, 2013 Posted January 13, 2013 Sorry if it seemed slightly harsh. I understand a Boss fight is meant to be hard. But there's a fine line between hard and too hard. We've taken down 1 Prince (who tortured the party prior to it.) Another who we might finish off now, yet one still remains. Battles with Special Conditions and Passive specials are good, but these shouldn't be used instead of a good old fashioned enemy. See the final battle of Quest 4. Hard for the Party, but not full of Gimmicks. Quote
