CMP Posted January 16, 2013 Posted January 16, 2013 I think it would be really interesting to use the same mechanic, and if scaled down to the size of a building (with the heroes having to move through halls and such rather than entire floors, like Dastan) could make for some cool scenarios. Quote
Dannylonglegs Posted January 16, 2013 Posted January 16, 2013 I won't, Hal will. And I have no clue why you would want to call him that. 2001 Space Odyssey? You render my puns useless by not knowing the reference! Urgh! How frustrating. ~Insectoid Aristocrat Quote

I'm afraid I can't let you make those, Danny. ...Yes, I know the source material, i just couldn't make the connection. Quote

Peppermint_M Posted January 16, 2013 Posted January 16, 2013 I'm sorry you aren't having fun at the Pagoda. But you only have 77 bandits left to kill before you get back! It's more for roleplaying I want to be in that Wren quest, The pagoda is great fun though, just wish my kills didn't keep on being nicked! Quote
The Legonater Posted January 16, 2013 Posted January 16, 2013 4.) Zeph, why are your NPCs ignoring meeee?? I've spoken directly to Vipera, and Arthur's saying plenty of things that the other characters could respond to, especially seeing as they're reactions to things the NPCs have said. Ditto, to some regard. I know a while ago Dyric and Phil were talking, and then Phil just sort of dropped off the conversation. Quote
Rumble Strike Posted January 16, 2013 Posted January 16, 2013 (edited) Not to doubt Scuba, but is it true that if a cleric is healing they can't roll special damage? Even if they are healing an enemy? Never mind, I have re-read the rules and it appears that it is indeed "No heal". That's another mess up from me then! Edited January 16, 2013 by Rumble Strike Quote
Brickdoctor Posted January 16, 2013 Posted January 16, 2013 Not to doubt Scuba, but is it true that if a cleric is healing they can't roll special damage? Even if they are healing an enemy? Should be, since the sixth roll while attempting healing is No Healing, not Special Damage. Quote
Endgame Posted January 16, 2013 Posted January 16, 2013 If that wasn't the case, Aquos would've absolutely massacred the party of 48. Quote
Rumble Strike Posted January 16, 2013 Posted January 16, 2013 OK, but that means I messed up Round One also as Nerwen rolled Special Damage then too. Such big mistakes recently! I obviously only work for shorter Quests! Quote
Flipz Posted January 17, 2013 Posted January 17, 2013 I think you're doing a great job, as is everyone hosting, really. I apologize for my crabbiness last night. In more positive news, I've spent the afternoon constructing a flowchart that defines the complete layout of the Cathedral of Mercuito! It's a little too big to post (according to site guidelines), plus it's just ugly plain text and contains info on locations that are spoilers, but I'm still really pleased with my work! Quote
Endgame Posted January 17, 2013 Posted January 17, 2013 (edited) Ahh, charts. QM's best friend! Perhaps I'll post a picture of all the paper I've used up making incomprehensible scribbles for 48. Edited January 17, 2013 by Endgame Quote
Flipz Posted January 17, 2013 Posted January 17, 2013 I have a full third of a notebook full of random ideas and such for Quests, and that's not even counting the several gigabytes of files and resources I have on my PC. ...I may be going a bit overboard. Quote

Protip: Doing is part of the process. No, but really: if you have so many ideas, present a few and see if they make it to the Quest Board! They don't do nearly as much good as just a file or a scrap piece of apper - a quest exists to be brought to life, after all! Quote
Flipz Posted January 17, 2013 Posted January 17, 2013 Building's my biggest problem, unfortumately--I can do the odd viginette here and there, but a full Quest needs a LOT more sets, and I just don't have enough bricks in the colors I want (though a year's worth of Pick-A-Brick cups and I'm starting to get closer). Gray in particular is a sore spot for me--I need tons of it, and I have VERY little. On the plus side, the long waits serve to distill some of my sillier ideas--the Cathedral Quest I've been working on started out as this wacko conspiracy story about a malfunctioning dimensional gate (don't ask). After about six months' worth of work, it's gotten a bit more reasonable, as those I'm working with can attest. EDIT: I really wish there was a set that would do for 1x2 gray and dark gray bricks what Olivia's House does for the 1x5x5, 1x2x5, and 1x1x5 panels--at a price point that's closer to Olivia's House than to Helm's Deep. Endgame Posted January 17, 2013 Posted January 17, 2013 (edited) Back in the day when 36 was being hosted, I had nothing but 3 Ninjago sets and maybe 2 ADU sets - about nothing but azure and lime green. LDD is a great help. Also, my first quest idea? Zoot tearing holes in space and dropping Chaos nukes. Zepher, steal that. Edited January 17, 2013 by Endgame Quote

But then I brought up 2 suitcases of bricks (~80 lbs) from home this weekend when I flew back to AK. Time to get to set building for my proposed quest! Quote

That's why I use LDraw to do my models, but it takes so ... long. Quote
