The Legonater Posted January 18, 2013 Posted January 18, 2013 Dang. I the player don't want to do this, but Arthur just will not let me write him otherwise. Sorry for the inconvenience, folks. I know the feeling. Arthur and Dyric contiune to follow same paths with slightly different motives. Quote
Flipz Posted January 18, 2013 Posted January 18, 2013 Do it. Then we can beat you down. I mean, it would be an interesting character choice. If you strike him down, he will become more powerful than you can possibly imagine be revived with 1HP anyway thanks to being under the Falconer's protection, while those of you that he manages to strike down... Zeph, surely you knew you wouldn't be able to make it through the Quest without at least the chance of PvP... Quote

Endgame Posted January 18, 2013 Posted January 18, 2013 Am I the only one who reads the Master's voice as Hade's from Kid Icarus: Uprising? Quote
Tanma Posted January 18, 2013 Posted January 18, 2013 Why do I get the feeling that if Arthur doesn't join he will be an ace-in-the-hole later on? Quote
Flipz Posted January 18, 2013 Posted January 18, 2013 Gnnn...trying to keep Arthur from ditching the Quest completely was like swallowing razor blades. (It's a variation of an expression favored by a former acting teacher, don't ask. ) If specific terms of the oath are required and they upset Arthur too much, I don't think I can do much to stop him from cutting and running. Why do I get the feeling that if Arthur doesn't join he will be an ace-in-the-hole later on? He probably would be...except this is a Zepher Quest, which means the players almost never have the ability to completely change the situation the way an ace-in-the-hole does (well, at least not to change the situation for the better). At best, he might have served as insurance that the Quest wouldn't fail...except that that would require fuzzy logic the likes of which would cause Phoenix Wright himself to tear out his awesomely spiky hair. As-is, there's a very good shot that Arthur's going to be Fleeing at LEAST one of the next few battles, just because he's not going to like who he'll have to fight or something. SHEESH it's hard playing a character with an actual opinion of things. ...then again, if Arthur were just a "smash and loot" character, he'd be off in the Fields with Docken and Co. instead of on Quest 53. TheBoyWonder Posted January 18, 2013 Posted January 18, 2013 What torso is used by Danny Dozenhands and the Crowkin Thug? It's just I'm trying to make a Purist La Volpe from assassins creed, but can't find that torso. Quote

TheBoyWonder Posted January 18, 2013 Posted January 18, 2013 Thanks WBD, might have to look in to it. Quote
Rumble Strike Posted January 18, 2013 Posted January 18, 2013 I thought you guys did really well with an intriguing concept. Nice background work Zeph and some super roleplaying from everyone. Quote
Palathadric Posted January 18, 2013 Posted January 18, 2013 Sandy, do bombs regard SP? I know that some people have played that they do, and others not, but I'm not actually sure what the actual rule is. Quote
Waterbrick Down Posted January 18, 2013 Posted January 18, 2013 See Arthur, all the cool kids get fancy titles. Quote
Flipz Posted January 18, 2013 Posted January 18, 2013 Hey, Arthur DID cave at the end. And then he didn't have to join the Court at all. (Or else Zeph didn't read the translation I conveniently provided for the gibberish. ) Quote
UsernameMDM Posted January 18, 2013 Posted January 18, 2013 Haha! My un-over-the-top back story pays off! Thank you, clean livin'! Quote
Sandy Posted January 18, 2013 Author Posted January 18, 2013 The explanation of why heroes can't be hurt belongs to Sandy, not I. I don't know if I've published it to the NPC index yet (I will work on that again when this quest is done) but in the Falconer's bio, it is explained that she protects the heroes from death. It's very smart, and all kudos should go to Sandy for it. It's not the Falconer who has the power to do that, but all of the six Veterans. More on that in an upcoming quest. Quote
Zepher Posted January 18, 2013 Posted January 18, 2013 The Master of Regret is simply ill-informed. Quote

I know that some people have played that they do, and others not, but I'm not actually sure what the actual rule is. All damage that is delivered on the hero from the outside should be susceptible to SP - except when it specifically says it isn't. This includes bombs, since they are thrown at the hero. Internal damage (such as poisoning) is not affected by SP. Quote
Scorpiox Posted January 18, 2013 Posted January 18, 2013 I am so hyped about the Court of Demons right now, I want to get as much out of Master of Loathing Haldor as I can! Expect an updated costume tommorrow. Quote
UsernameMDM Posted January 18, 2013 Posted January 18, 2013 As long as Hoke gets to take a nap while everyone is changing clothes. Quote
Endgame Posted January 18, 2013 Posted January 18, 2013 Oh boy, Zepher, now you've turned one of your questies into a demon. Quote
Palathadric Posted January 18, 2013 Posted January 18, 2013 Just wondering, what is the purpose in Nerwen using the Shackles of War in 52? It's not like the enemies have specials that grant them the ability to flee, from what I saw, and, unless I haven't been reading well, what is wrong with them fleeing anyways? Also, in Quest 50, what is the purpose in the heroes splitting up. It's not like they have a time limit, right? Seems like if they stay together, as they have thus far, they would breeze through the battles a lot easier. Quote
Zepher Posted January 18, 2013 Posted January 18, 2013 (edited) Oh boy, Zepher, now you've turned one of your questies into a demon. Hey, what my questies do is their own choice. If Haldor wants to take his new title so seriously, that's up to him. They didn't ask to eat souls, so they didn't get any, and their heads should still be right as rain. EDIT: Just to clear it up, the MoR isn't a member of the Court. He just helped give them powers. They don't, for example, chill on weekends. Also, the reason the Court is so wonky and lost their way is because they took souls of the dead into them, not because they joined up. Their Experts, Apprentices and Masters are all normal and insane on their own right. Nothing happened to them. Edited January 18, 2013 by Zepher Quote
