TheBoyWonder Posted January 19, 2013 Posted January 19, 2013 Yet another reason why I love Atramor. Quote
Endgame Posted January 19, 2013 Posted January 19, 2013 Argh, accursed die -giving out the best items. Also, TBW, If I ever say Lycan instead of Romulus, feel free to slap me across the face with a dead fish. Quote
Flipz Posted January 19, 2013 Posted January 19, 2013 I just find Dastan to have the coolest name, and there's a certain species that Dastan boasts that I'm considering using in Romulus' backstory. I have to say, I (personally) really dislike the idea of werewolves in Dastan. Why not try Salmanda, that nation has a fair number of were-races already, and it's close enough to Dastan to allow a few of whichever species you're thinking of to migrate to Salmanda. (Though if you're thinking of writing Dragons into Romulus' backstory, I'd advise against it, it'd be a little TOO cliche and would give too many opportunities to revive old Skyrim memes.) Quote
Palathadric Posted January 19, 2013 Posted January 19, 2013 To be fair, I think it would make sense that Dyric trained her. You had to bring that up, didn't you? I love that, one of the funniest moments in Heroica history. Quote
TheBoyWonder Posted January 19, 2013 Posted January 19, 2013 I personally dislike Dragons as an entity. And Salmanda just doesn't seem right. Quote
JimBee Posted January 20, 2013 Posted January 20, 2013 I'll agree with what Zepher said. I don't think were-people have to be associated with any one nation or area in particular. Why would they be? And even if they were, they could move to different areas just as easily as anyone else. Quote
UsernameMDM Posted January 20, 2013 Posted January 20, 2013 Ok, how exactly does the Explosive Staff work? Quote
CMP Posted January 20, 2013 Posted January 20, 2013 Ok, how exactly does the Explosive Staff work? It deals damage to all enemies, and 6 to the user if a 4 is rolled, which means I'll be dealing Badly Poisoned, Paralyzed, and Cursed to all enemies, assuming I land a hit. And it's only a suicide mission if Atramor dies, he's got a chance... Quote
Zepher Posted January 20, 2013 Posted January 20, 2013 In all technicality, it says that it does DAMAGE to all enemies, doesn't hit them all. But I feel like I keep clarifying things to your disadvantage, so I felt a little guilty pointing it out and was just going to let it roll. It's a dangerous plan either way, but you're free to do it if you like. Quote

It's a dangerous plan either way, but you're free to do it if you like. As I see it, envenomed weapons of any kind deal their poison effect any time they deal damage to enemies. Thus, an envenomed dual-strike weapon deals venom to all four enemies it hits, the Cat O' Nine Tails, the Banana Bladerang, and the Explosive Staff all deal venom to all enemies. Cursed is the only one I'm not 100% sure about, but I feel that dealing Cursed to all foes is within the spirit of the artifact. Quote
Zepher Posted January 20, 2013 Posted January 20, 2013 I know. I think AoE weapons are monstrously unfair in the way they are currently designed (I think they should deal damage but not effects to everyone), but I've been over-ruled on that before, so the way it works is the way you describe. Quote
CMP Posted January 20, 2013 Posted January 20, 2013 I figured it would, it's not like I'm casting a spell. Quote

True, but they're also quite rare, and aside from the Banana Bladerang (which has the retrieval issue to work with), they also deal only half damage from the Back Row. Quote
UsernameMDM Posted January 20, 2013 Posted January 20, 2013 OK, if the QM is warning us not to split the party 3-ways through NPCs, I think we should listen!!! Quote
CMP Posted January 20, 2013 Posted January 20, 2013 You're only down one member, I think you'll do fine. Quote
Flipz Posted January 20, 2013 Posted January 20, 2013 Relax, we're only losing one person if Atramor fails, plus he can Flee if the situation gets too hopeless. On the other hand, do we really want this thing to have more power? I mean, the Q38 boss was Level 50, how much more than that can we possibly handle?? Quote
Endgame Posted January 20, 2013 Posted January 20, 2013 The Magic Carp was level 66, and he wasn't that big of a problem. Quote
Bricksandparts Posted January 20, 2013 Posted January 20, 2013 Endgame, is this seriously a slender maze? Quote
Endgame Posted January 20, 2013 Posted January 20, 2013 I don't know what that is. I've heard of slenderman before, but I haven't looked into it much. Quote

Flipz Posted January 20, 2013 Posted January 20, 2013 Probably would have to wait for the next battle...which incidentally means that if all of the rest of us screw up and die, SOMEONE will be around to continue the Quest. (Granted by that point, we're all screwed anyway, but still...) Quote
Zepher Posted January 20, 2013 Posted January 20, 2013 Yeah, this isn't a trick... he'd rejoin with the other parties when this bout of battles is over, just like all the other times! Quote
CMP Posted January 20, 2013 Posted January 20, 2013 Boomingham swaggers forth and unsheathes his Frozen Saber from its scarab strapped to his back. He made a scabbard out of that Scarab from Quest 8? Quote
Zepher Posted January 20, 2013 Posted January 20, 2013 Damn, I always stare at that word and it always looks wrong. I think that I always misspell it. Quote
