Rumble Strike Posted October 31, 2011 Posted October 31, 2011 I'm glad someone else said something about bricksandparts, after our little spat about what makes a Barbarian, I didn't want to look like I was picking on him. It's incredibly annoying and completely takes you out of the game. There's no need at all to have consecutive posts containing only OOC comments! If you are having trouble roleplaying Alf as a simple man, then try to think of ways to fix that. We live in a magical fantasy world, it shouldn't be too hard. Quote
Jebediahs Posted October 31, 2011 Posted October 31, 2011 I like the new look for Guts and bow on Harkenshire. Good job guys. @Sandy hahaha yeah, I'm not going anywhere Quote
Darth Nihilus Posted October 31, 2011 Posted October 31, 2011 Okay, I have another question about the game. If a Rogue flees a battle, can they return if the battle is still going on? It would make for a good suprise tactic, and I was thinking that if I could do it, I might experiment a bit. Quote

However, their survival when others fall will ensure that the quest does not fail. Quote

However, their survival when others fall will ensure that the quest does not fail. Darn. I was hoping to escape a battle, circle through the countryside, and return behind the enemy line, suprising them and (hopefully) dealing them some damage. Maybe there should be an item that allows Rogues to do that....... Quote
CMP Posted October 31, 2011 Posted October 31, 2011 Just to make sure, I can use my Potion on somebody else and attack in the same turn, thanks to my Hollow Blade, right? Quote
Bioniclover Posted October 31, 2011 Posted October 31, 2011 Wrong topic... I suck at this foruming stuff. Seriously. Anyway, shouldn't Dyric have been able to pick the lock on the chest in Quest 9? That's what I was going to suggest trying... but I did it in the quest topic. Smooth moves, me. Quote
Sandy Posted October 31, 2011 Author Posted October 31, 2011 Anyway, shouldn't Dyric have been able to pick the lock on the chest in Quest 9? The job traits were changed a while ago. Rangers lost the ability to automatically track things, and rogues can no longer automatically pick locks - only if the Quest Master allows it. So it depends on the case. Quote
Fred Daniel Yam Posted October 31, 2011 Posted October 31, 2011 Hey Sandy, could we like do a trick-or-treating thing where we get free stuff??? Quote
Waterbrick Down Posted October 31, 2011 Posted October 31, 2011 Just to make sure, I can use my Potion on somebody else and attack in the same turn, thanks to my Hollow Blade, right? Since I didn't specify, I'll say yes for the moment, though if this was a functioning piece of weaponry, I would say that only you could use it unless you tossed your weapon to the other person which would take 1 round. Think of the hollow blade as a camel-water-backpack, if you want someone else to drink from it, you'd have to toss it over to them. That's my imagining of how it would work anyways, though come to think of it, storing a potion in your hollow blade right after a poison had been stored would realistically prove deadly. To move the battle along, I'll say yes for right now and leave the point up for discussion. Sandy or other QM's does this sound balanced should he be able to use his stored potion on another character? Quote
Sandy Posted October 31, 2011 Author Posted October 31, 2011 Sandy or other QM's does this sound balanced should he be able to use his stored potion on another character? I'd actually say no to that, since there should be some sort of limitation to these hollow-blade weapons. You're right that considering the realistic time spent it isn't logical that the stored potion could be used on another character besides the attacker (or the target of the attack). But it's your creation, I'll leave it up to you to solve the related kinks. Quote
CMP Posted October 31, 2011 Posted October 31, 2011 Well, it can wait until one of my questmates is near-death 'til you answer. Quote
posades Posted October 31, 2011 Posted October 31, 2011 How do cloaks and specialized items like that work? Are they automatically equipped, and how do we keep up with the attributes of it (Power +1, etc.)? Quote
Waterbrick Down Posted October 31, 2011 Posted October 31, 2011 Well, it can wait until one of my questmates is near-death 'til you answer. Well one is now near-death, as I stated earlier, I'll let you do it this once, but after this battle, all hollow blade equipped items may only be used on yourself and as I stated earlier, only status effecting items may be stored, i.e. no bombs, spells, etc. If it's a liquid, it'll fit that's it. K-Nut Posted October 31, 2011 Posted October 31, 2011 Do improved reputations improve your chances of getting into a quest by that sponsor? Like Alexis would have a higher chance of getting into a Hinckwell quest than Nyx? Quote
Brickdoctor Posted October 31, 2011 Posted October 31, 2011 Hey Sandy, could we like do a trick-or-treating thing where we get free stuff??? That's a fantastic idea. I'll have to integrate that into my Quest, somehow. How do cloaks and specialized items like that work? Are they automatically equipped, and how do we keep up with the attributes of it (Power +1, etc.)? You can only use one at a time. Right now, only De'kra has two Cloaks, and one is ineffective in Battle, so it won't matter, but in later battles, I assume that the players would have to choose which one to equip. (unless the QM decided they could wear them all at the same time ) Do improved reputations improve your chances of getting into a quest by that sponsor? Like Alexis would have a higher chance of getting into a Hinckwell quest than Nyx? Yes. For example, in our QM PMs, Zepher said he wasn't going to bother signing up for my Quest, since his reputation wouldn't allow him in. Quote

Chromeknight Posted November 1, 2011 Posted November 1, 2011 OOC: yes, sandy, according to my map, about where are we? Dude. Are you trying to prompt someone to drop a basilisk on your head? Quote
Bricksandparts Posted November 1, 2011 Posted November 1, 2011 Dude. Are you trying to prompt someone to drop a basilisk on your head? The thing is, This OOC had a purpose. What should I say? Alf looks into the sky "Sandy, according to map where me?" Quote

I agree with this, but just one more question: if you have a potion stored in a hollow blade, and you attack an undead monster, would you do the amount of the strike's damage, or that plus the damage of the potion if you used the potion alone? That's a little jumbled, let me clarify: if a character has a power of 4, with the hollow blade, and stores a potion, would an attack on an undead monster yield: 4 damage (power) or 14 damage (power plus potion) Or no damage at all? In another case, would a venom'd hollow blade (or non-hollow, for that matter) poison an undead monster? (Sorry, but the situation had to come up eventually. ) Quote
Chromeknight Posted November 1, 2011 Posted November 1, 2011 The thing is, This OOC had a purpose. What should I say? Alf looks into the sky "Sandy, according to map where me?" As suggested before. Your options are, PM the quest master or post in character. e.g. "Alf looks around wondering where in the academy they are" "Alf checks his map and looks about." Or you could not worry about the map at all, since if it's important a QM will usually tell you, or drop a hint that you should ask. Quote
