The Legonater Posted February 8, 2013 Posted February 8, 2013 On a related note and out of curiosity, are there any Quests lined up by anyone for the near-ish future? The Hall's going to be downright flooded with heroes once 53 ends. I'm brainstorming smaller Quest ideas myself. Mine is almost ready to go. Quote

If I can find an artist for some special effects, my Cathedral Quest will be awesome; if not, it'll still be awesome, but with slightly less awesome character designs since I'd have to draw said characters. Either way, though, Doc has made some AMAZING builds, you are in for a treat. Quote
Waterbrick Down Posted February 8, 2013 Posted February 8, 2013 Nothing on the books, I've got about 1/3 of the first part of my trilogy done (I took a break to throw quest 54 together). Depending on how much time I have free, I may try to put together another small one. What we really need are some quest offering reputation with a certain family. We've got higher level players, but alot of them are pretty limited on what expert class they can choose. Independent stories are okay, but I think we've been seeing a rather large influx of them as of late. In fact actually out of the ~55 quests out there thus far only 15 of them officially offered reputation with one of the houses! Quote

I too want to see more opportunity for it - but I think they should go beyond Quest rewards too. The Hinckwell crates in Quest 15, for example, were a really cool little addition (that I took inspiration from in Quest 51) that I think should show up more often. The constantly cropping up Wolfgang rep opportunities are a fine example as well, not to mention the Ji Pei sabotage in Quest 16. They don't need to be numerous, but just the chance to help out one of the houses a bit more could be beneficial. Edited February 8, 2013 by CallMePie Quote
UsernameMDM Posted February 8, 2013 Posted February 8, 2013 I need 1 more JP quest and 9.33 more levels... Quote
CMP Posted February 8, 2013 Posted February 8, 2013 I still think it would be cool if house reputation came in the form of tradeable tokens or something, as much as it might detract from the believability. Quote

Letter of Recommendation - Consumed upon use, this piece of parchment allows a hero to transfer one level of reputation to another hero. Quote

If you added in the unofficial chances for reputation the numbers would probably come out to closer to 1/2 of the past quests, however if someone is wanting to be a Chi Monk, they're looking for quests that offer JP reputation not just a quest where the opportunity for JP reputation might come up. CorneliusMurdock Posted February 8, 2013 Posted February 8, 2013 I'm hoping to join a quest for reputation soon. I'll be quite close Lvl 30 by the end of this quest.... And then I'll still need two quests to get the required rep for either suitable class for Cronk. I was a little disappointed that the Ziegfried's Class is so unplayable for Cronk. (Not that there's anything wrong with it, I just can't really use that reputation.) Quote
CorneliusMurdock Posted February 8, 2013 Posted February 8, 2013 I thought Cronk was staying Paladin? I'm sure that's what Cronk wants but I want an expert class. I just have to convince him to play ball... Quote
CMP Posted February 8, 2013 Posted February 8, 2013 I'm sure that's what Cronk wants but I want an expert class. I just have to convince him to play ball... He'd make a good Regulator. If, well, he was Orderly, and never ever rolled a Shield again. Quote
UsernameMDM Posted February 8, 2013 Posted February 8, 2013 I am thinking Chi-Monk for Hoke, but could go Dragoon (Vipera!!!). Really wanting to see the expert Knight stats. But, all in all, I think Mystic Knight was a good pick and have enjoyed playing it. Quote
CorneliusMurdock Posted February 8, 2013 Posted February 8, 2013 He'd make a good Regulator. If, well, he was Orderly, and never ever rolled a Shield again. With the infrequency that Cronk rolls Shield, that might not be a problem. Quote
CMP Posted February 8, 2013 Posted February 8, 2013 With the infrequency that Cronk rolls Shield, that might not be a problem. Good point. Well, don't feel restricted too too much by roleplaying. Sometimes you just have to change the flavor of the class to suit the character. Like Boomingham. He's the definition of a Knight, but isn't as 'holy' as most Paladins. The whole voodoo thing with Atramor makes his class much more suitable than him being a class Elphaba-type witch. All a matter of how you play it. Quote
Zepher Posted February 8, 2013 Posted February 8, 2013 Letter of Recommendation - Consumed upon use, this piece of parchment allows a hero to transfer one level of reputation to another hero. Corny and I were just joking about that. We'd like to swap reputations! What we really need are some quest offering reputation with a certain family. Agreed. But I also don't plan to help. I've got too many plans in the works. Unfortunately, away from my bricks, I'm relatively powerless to create any quests. So it will be May again by the time I host. I'd predict we'll be concluding around the end of February. I feel that's a pretty quick quest with little drag. Quote
CorneliusMurdock Posted February 8, 2013 Posted February 8, 2013 Yeah, but Cronk doesn't really believe in Chaos. So I don't think he'd feel the need to regulate it. He just thinks Wren is evil and needs to be bashed. I'd predict we'll be concluding around the end of February. I feel that's a pretty quick quest with little drag. That sounds about right. I don't think there's been much slowness at all here. We've had some tough battles and a lot of plot and none of it has felt like it should have gone faster to me. Being the conclusion of the "Wren Cycle", I don't think we should have expected a short quest. Quote
PsyKater Posted February 8, 2013 Posted February 8, 2013 OOC: can i attack in turn which i use healing potion? Nope. You can either use a consumable or attack or use a scroll or whatever. This is 1 turn. You can be able to act twice (two turns) in one round though, if you are hastened. Quote
Sandy Posted February 8, 2013 Author Posted February 8, 2013 Sandy, what is the theme of Njago ?.(Theme being like Xu is steampunk and the Abra Desert being arabian) Beats me. As I said, it was just a name that Chromeknight threw into the discussion waaay back when. I think it had something to do with Nagas (whose homeland I've named Nagashan). Letter of Recommendation - Consumed upon use, this piece of parchment allows a hero to transfer one level of reputation to another hero. Sorry, but that would only completely nullify the purpose of the reputation system. It's all about choices, people! And as I've said, the house reputation will have a meaning beyond the expert classes. We just have to get to the climax of the main story, first. But obviously there's still some problems with acquiring the reputation one wants. QMs, if you think your quest could include a chance for the players to gain reputation from some of the main houses, feel free to contact me about it. Quote
Quarryman Posted February 8, 2013 Posted February 8, 2013 Some places mentioned in the map are related to the player characters, namely Värtland (Eric & Haldor), Goblonia (Cronk), Spesialia (Rufindel), Fenario (Namyrra), Etheria (Arthur) and Pantana (Ad-hoh). Njago is something I picked up from Chromeknight's post to the Hall. The rest of the names are coined by me. Hmm, I've always thought of Fenario as far to the east, but far to the west works equally well, Olegaia is round after all. Quote
joeshmoe554 Posted February 8, 2013 Posted February 8, 2013 Endgame, that Cymbalroot plant is awesome. I love the special attack you gave it. And don't worry about us. Life happens, just try to stay safe and I hope the blizzard doesn't do too much damage to the area. Quote

Zepher Posted February 8, 2013 Posted February 8, 2013 (edited) We have the outrageously talented BD to thank for our latest interlude (the third to last one, I believe!!) Edited February 8, 2013 by Zepher Quote
Flare Posted February 8, 2013 Posted February 8, 2013 I have to admit, the Ghastly Marsh is one heck of a hard battle! I am wondering if we'll make it through... Quote
