Flare Posted February 10, 2013 Posted February 10, 2013 It's enter able? I didn't know that it you could enter it either... Quote
TheBoyWonder Posted February 10, 2013 Posted February 10, 2013 I think he was referring to the fact there's a spire based there in Q53, but no one is going there. Quote
Endgame Posted February 10, 2013 Posted February 10, 2013 Sorry, folks on 48 and 56! I just recieved both the Bug Obliterator and the Swarm Interceptor as a gift, and I've been building them. I'll update tonight. Quote
Flipz Posted February 11, 2013 Posted February 11, 2013 Good gods, we have a lot of stuff... FYI, 51-ers, I didn't include weapons because that would have killed me I think most people know their weapons pretty well, so those trades are easier to manage. Quote
Zepher Posted February 11, 2013 Posted February 11, 2013 I'll also be having an update for you guys tomorrow (you don't have to manually do each trade, but if you want to sound off if you're okay with the switches in the meantime, that'd be nice so I don't go against anyone's potential wishes). CM, thank you for sending the whole 19 party after Vonnetate. It's very considerate and once more proves that while Cronk is a simple Orc, CM pays a vast amount of attention. Quote

I noticed that, too, it's a really nice touch. Also, after the past two hours...we are horrible, horrible people. I suddenly understand why you want to kill us, Zeph. Though to be fair, all those party NPCs don't exactly help matters. Quote

Flipz Posted February 11, 2013 Posted February 11, 2013 Daaaaaaaang! Quest 50 just got real! Heroes are dropping like flies! ...okay, maybe I'm exaggerating. In all honesty, Q50 is really showing us the importance of remaining active and attentive, even though battles may stretch across days or weeks (or in this case, a month! ). That said, I can understand how it's difficult for that party to try and strategize, since I don't think I've ever seen more than two of the participants online at the same time--ever. We on 53 are fortunate that most of us are in the same hemisphere, so we're naturally online during roughly the same window. I feel kind of bad for Scorpiox and Professor Flitwick, they hardly get to play with the rest of us, especially when we get to fighting amongst ourselves and end up generating page after page of dialogue to have to read through. I wonder if Hoke can jump in on that Quest after 53 is concluded later this month. I would LOVE a shot at that sword (and all the SWEET loot being dropped!). Quote
Rumble Strike Posted February 11, 2013 Posted February 11, 2013 I didn'tthink Tarn concentrating would work, but it was worth a shot! Quote
CMP Posted February 11, 2013 Posted February 11, 2013 Daaaaaaaang! Quest 50 just got real! Heroes are dropping like flies! ...okay, maybe I'm exaggerating. I don't remember him doing any healing....Hybros has an endless store of Health Cores. I don't think it'll make too much of a difference in the long run, with Jun back in action. Quote
Peppermint_M Posted February 11, 2013 Posted February 11, 2013 Eh, we also destroyed the healing spring. Heroica Heros everyone! Who knows what will happen next Quote
Zepher Posted February 11, 2013 Posted February 11, 2013 I have a suggestion to make bombs more powerful and useful- they should become SP piercing. That wouldn't really change them for early heroes (most basic enemies for basic quests don't have SP anyway) but would make them useful for higher levels (who have SPs that are hard to get through). It would also make logical sense, because shields wouldn't really stop bombs. Quote

It'd make bombs something for cleaning up the scraps, like they used to be, instead of almost completely useless, like they are now. Quote
Chromeknight Posted February 11, 2013 Posted February 11, 2013 (edited) WBD and I are proud to present our version of the 2013 Heroica Awards!! You simply send in your vote for each category via PM (for the QM/NPC blanket category, send to me, and for the PC blanket category, send your votes to WBD). Voting will close it two weeks (February 16th) at some point. I expect we will have all the votes in by then. About a week after that... maybe a little more... we will be presenting the two closest runner-ups, and the first place winner. Everyone who is anyone will be at the red carpet too, with celebrity NPCs announcing the winners of each category, and a very special PC guest will be hosting the whole event (we won't tell you yet who it is... partially because it's a surprise and partially because they haven't quite yet agreed)! Some of you with NPCs will be contacted at some point to write speeches too (I feel like I'm nearly always asking my fellow QMs favors, sorry all). Without further ado... your categories to vote in. You have one vote for each category: QMs/NPCs (send these votes to Zepher): Best Scenery/Photography Best Game Mechanic (including battle mechanic, puzzles, riddles, etc.) Best Item Best Friendly NPC (Roleplaying) Best Villianous NPC (Roleplaying) Best Villain/Enemy (Game Mechanic-wise) Best Story Players/Character (send these votes to WBD): Best Roleplayer Best Battle Strategist Best Character Optimizer Most Badass Character Most Original Character Most Powerful/Meaningful Relationship (Doesn't have to be a love relationship) Best Party Dynamic (Quest #) Repost to remind people to vote (and so you don't need to hunt backwards to find the catagories!) Rumble Strike Posted February 12, 2013 Posted February 12, 2013 Good stuff Chromeknight, saves people having to go back 20-odd pages. On the bombs thing, I too think it would work if they ignored SP. They rarely get used as they stand. Except for those Bomb XXs by naive heroes! Quote

Capt.JohnPaul Posted February 12, 2013 Posted February 12, 2013 Or make more powerful bombs. 5 damage just doesn't really do anything anymore. Quote
UsernameMDM Posted February 12, 2013 Posted February 12, 2013 Or make more powerful bombs. 5 damage just doesn't really do anything anymore. Or effect bombs: Flash-bangs: Stun Gas-canister: Poison Pepper: Blind etc Quote
CMP Posted February 12, 2013 Posted February 12, 2013 Those would both be interesting ideas. Effect bombs would have to be quite expensive though. Quote
Flipz Posted February 12, 2013 Posted February 12, 2013 Those would both be interesting ideas. Effect bombs would have to be quite expensive though. Agreed. Scrolls cost 50 Gold apiece, cost Ether, and only have a 50-50 success rate for an action that doesn't even prevent Free Hits. Effect bombs would have to be in the realm of Nostrum or Soma or Deadly Venom to balance that out. Quote
Zepher Posted February 12, 2013 Posted February 12, 2013 Or make more powerful bombs. 5 damage just doesn't really do anything anymore. This is being done too. Military grade does 10 damage, and I have just tried to introduce a few items that will up the damage output of bombs. Bomb XXs are in fairly wide circulation among parties too, and will probably continue to appear if I can swing it, because I like them! I think ignoring SP would be nice though. A lot of enemies are upping the SP, so there are actual points in battle where 10 guaranteed damage to everyone, ignoring SP, could actually be a pretty sound strategy (it would sort of like being getting an AIM on every enemy, which I think people would be pretty pleased with).
